Target Savings Thread

Anybody know when they will mark down the college stuff? I'm eyeing some of those ottomans.

The college stuff like comforters and sheets and such were marked down 30%...not sure about the ottomans though...

My Target wouldn't let me. They said it HAD to be one of the games on the coupon and it had to be full-size.
I would have argued but the manager was already there helping because I had a ton of coupons and the cashier was having a hard time.....:sad2:
I was going to try again another day but haven't worked up the nerve.

My sister works there now and she said it totally depends on the cashier and what their mood happens to be that day.... :rolleyes1

You can just happen to get in your sister's line and you know.........

Ok, I am not sure what went wrong but I went to Target for the travel games and they were $3.99 and I got four. I went to cashier and handed her the four $5 dollars coupons and even though the register let her scan two coupons she said that she was going to call the manger because the games would be free and have an overage. What happens with overages? How does it work for others? In the end, she only let me use one coupon for 2 of the travel games. Did I just get the wrong cashier? :confused3

Yep, wrong cashier!... :confused3
Some will let the overage go, some will mark it so there is no overage and just a free item, and I've had one time where they won't let me use the coupon.

After seeing this thread I printed out the $4 and $5 coupons and used a $4 coupon (the connect 4 one) on the Disney Yatzhee game that's on sale for $7. So it rang up as a $3 game!

Must have gotten a "good" cashier.

I am printing the Hasbro game coupons right now and they have a list on them of what you can get, is anyone getting these games or can it be used on any hasbro games... I would hate to get turned down, I am very non confrontational and dont want to be yelled at. lol

Can you really combine a manufacturer's coupon with a Target coupon?
If it is truly a target coupon, then yes you can use 1 target coupon and 1 manu coupon on the same item. I've done it for years now. Works like a charm. Sometimes it's being able to use both that entices me to buy the item. HTH :goodvibes

Thanks for the quick reply. Just for clarification, do all of the following qualify as "Target coupons" that can be combined with manufacturer's coupons:
1.) Coupons printed from Target.com
2.) Coupons with the Target logo found in the newspaper
3.) Coupons printed with your Target receipt at checkout

Thanks for the tip about the Hungry Hungry Hippos coupon. I loved that game as a kid, I am excited to share it with DS! :hippie:

nos. 1 and 3 definitely yes.
no. 2 not positive on that one. sometimes there are excl to Target and some are actually manu coupons but have a store name printed on them to encourage you to redeem them at that store. There appearantly is a why to tell by the bar code #s but I don't know how to read them. I would say try it once and see what happens. If it were me, I would try it and if they don't take both coupons, I would politely tell the cashier that I have changed my mind and please take it off my order. HTH :goodvibes

^^Thanks for the further help. I will try your suggestions.

I can vouche (sp?) for #2. I did this for the fist time a couple of weeks ago. I had the $1.50 Target newspaper coupons off the new Bounce Bar and a $2.50 coupon off of it from somewhere else. They only had the 2 month bar avaiable as it was on sale that week and it was $3.74 (or close to that). The cashier let me use both coupons and gave me the overage, but I had a bunch of other stuff in my cart too.

There is actually an even better deal...there is a coupon from the Target coupon generator at AFullCup which is good for 5$ off a Hasbro game. This makes the travel games FREE! I've gotten Connect4,Hungry Hippos and Perfection all free. (I'm stocking up to donate to charity at Christmas) They also have travel Battleship on clearance for $1.24!

Found it!!! Let's see if we can revive this thread...... :)

Supposedly there is a travel size Hungry Hippos game that is $4.99 and then you can use this coupon for $4 off making it $0.99 each :)

Here's the coupon link..... http://print.coupons.com/Couponweb/Offers.aspx?pid=14900&nid=20&zid=su12

thanks for these
