Who is getting up bright and early to hit Target's clearance?! I need to start of list of items that I want to look for! Papertowels for sure! And I need to get my coupons together.

What's on everyone else's list?

Do you know something I don't know? Last year our Target didn't put the clearance stuff out until the Wednesday after the holiday. Is there some big time clearance scheduled that I don't know about?

Yes, I would love to know if anyone has their clearance schedule. I am planning on going on the 26th.

Get thyself there on the 26th for incredible deals. I bought all my holiday lighting for this year and I got 4 sets of Christmas place settings for 4 for $2.50 each!! Yep. I spent a total of $60 and have a ton of decorations now! I can't wait to hit it this year.

I usually go to CVS on the 26th to get tissue paper, wrapping paper, Christmas cards, etc.

What do they have at Target?

Does anyone have a definite markdown schedule for Target and Walmart???? I've been watching another website but nobody knows for sure yet.

its always next day= 50%, 5 days = 75%, 7 days = 90%

thats how it workd with other holidays anyways. I wanna be there on the first to get some 90% items but will be there earlier for some Wilton stuff.

Every year I go there and get wrapping paper and their ADORABLE package decore and lights and ornaments which I put on my packages as a little extra decoration/gift.
We've gotten wonderful decorations here.. and blankets, rugs, plate sets, etc for Xmas the day after.

It's a madhouse but WELL worth it!! My packages are always the prettiest (teehee) and people don't realize how cheap it is.

I also get my Xmas cards for the next year here the day after.. this year mine were really cool.. popup Xmas trees inside everyone LOVED them... they were dirt cheap:)

From your experience, which stores then are the best? I've seen mentioned here Target, Walmart and CVS. I'd like to miss Walmart - it's a madhouse at normal times. Will I find good deals at Target and CVS?

TIA

Last Friday evening I went with my dd-15 to JoAnn Fabrics. The wrapping paper was 70% off, all other Christmas items was 60% off already.

At Target on Friday evening, I got some Christmas items at 40% off already. The clerk told me they are marking some items off, you just have to look really close in the aisles.

Last year I think it hit 90% on either Jan 7th or 8th. I checked my calendar and I think it was a Friday so it must have been the 7th. I think it is a little longer than 7 days for 90% off Christmas. :sunny: :sunny:

Yes, I also wrote down the dates from last year on my calendar. The 26th was 50%, Jan 2nd was 75% and Jan 7th was 90%.

For those that don't know, all Menards Christmas stuff is already 50% off.

I know that Target doesn't follow their typical schedule for Christmas items- not like w/ Halloween and Easter. I'm glad someone wrote them down. It gives us at least a guideline to watch for.

Will Target allow you to buy something and then if it goes on sale, take it back and get it cheaper? If so, I'll go get it and then return and rebuy! I love their stuff and really want to stock up for next year....of course I don't need more crap to hold onto for another year, but how can you resist!!! LOL

You cannot just get a price adjustment, but if they still had more of the item in stock you could return the one you had and buy a different one at the cheaper price. If you really want something you should I buy it because chances are it will be gone when it gets to the next markdown level.

Yes, I have the same markdown dates written down from last year too. Just remember that not every Target store follows the exact markdown schedule, some go to 40% instead of 50% on the 26th.

Also, for those that don't know about it, Target normally does a huge toy clearance in January as well. The toys will go from 30 to 50 to 75 to 90% off. Not everything is on sale, but in my local Targets there are usually 3-4 full aisles of clearance items. Some are the not-so-great-sellers, but other items are just older and need to be cleared out. I remember scoring some Lego trains sets for less than $17 (these sold for over $150) and other great deals.

Don't know if it is ok to post here, but if you visit the shopping forums on mycoupons.com there is usually a big thread on the Target markdowns.

HTH!

So, what are you all looking for in the Target clearance? Does anyone know what types of things might be left for the 75% or 90%? This will be my first Christmas to hit a Target at more than 50% off Christmas. I can't wait.

Crest Whitestrips are in Christmas packaging! I hope to get some of those sets. I also want some Glad items, Chlorox wipes, Crackers, stocking stuffers for next year. There are Fuji cameras in Christmas boxes in the checkout aisles.

To the OP.
Papertowels? How much can you save on papertowels? :confused3
