Target just denied the 5%

Well, I'm not surprised, and I'll keep shopping at Target. For me, the pharmacy is convenient and has done a good job - I've used them for 20 years as my pharmacy - long before rewards. My Target is close to home, carries what I need at good prices, and is a comfortable place to shop - I buy most of my groceries other places, but if I need to grab milk and bananas, Target is fast.

Not a deal breaker for me. I would shop at target 100 times over before I step into the "other" store. They have more gluten free, organic and the products our family uses. I think we should be lucky that allowed it this long.

I hate having to go to that "other" store too; the one in my town is so trashy. I had to go there the other week to return a gift and all I could think of when I was there is how much NICER Target is.

Still no super target for me. Just a few grocery items. So I use Wal Mart for grocery most of time. There grocery prices will not be beat, IMO. Th eplace is trashy. Lines are long. Lots of folks shopping in pajamas. Almost everyone checking out other than me is using foo stamp cards to buy ... but, hey, it is cheaper for the same stuff so sign me up! I'm all about saving $$. :rotfl2:

Our local grocery store, wegmans is probably more competitive with Walmart than people realize. I did a comparison of all the items I buy and wegmans was practically spot on. Plus they double coupons up to $1!!!

We don't have super target but I have figured out what I usually buy at Walmart that I can instead buy at target. Some things are cheaper at target (egglands best). I also use cartwheel, target coupons, and buy target gift cards at Kroger (which saves me 10-20%). The other store is gross and dirty and the customers and staff are unfriendly.

We don't gave Wegmans nor Kroger. Ours is Food Lion and WalMart beast them and Target (we don't have Super Target) but a nice margin.

You can still get the 5% discount if you buy them online. I just did!

The pharmacy rewards discount or the red card discount? To my knowledge the red card discount is still in effect for Disney gift cards. It's the pharmacy rewards discount that isn't being allowed.

This is what we do. Between our two vehicles, we can take about 31 gallons. So we save $31 rather than just $16 since my van only takes 16.

I take gas cans to get the full 35 gallons. Then my DH fills his car from the gas cans. Works out to 14% off.

I tried to buy Disney Gift Cards on target.com and was only allowed 3 and could use my redcard but not my Pharmacy Rewards coupon code.

I've been able to order more than 3 in the past, within the last year I know I ordered $600 online at one time from Target.com.

The Pharmacy Rewards could never be applied to Disney GCs when purchasing online. That's nothing new.

For as long as I can remember, Target.com has limited guests to the purchase of 3 GCs in a single online transaction. You can make multiple orders on the same day, but you can only have 3 GCs in each order.

This is not true of in store though, correct? You can buy as many as your debit limits allow?

The Pharmacy Rewards coupon no longer works in the brick & mortar stores, either.

The store manager has a right to limit quantities on any item. That includes GCs. If they feel the need to limit you to an amount smaller than your credit or debit limit, they would be within their authority to do so.

Love Wegmans, wish they were here in NC, but Harris Teeter is nice. We're supposed to be getting some Publix stores around here soon. Sorry, but half the Walmarts i have been in are dirty and gross, so i don't go there for groceries.

Let me clarify...I will be switching back to Walgreen's simply because I will not be using the additional 5% from the Pharmacy Rewards enough to justify staying with Target's pharmacy. When I was able to save an additional $15-$50 on my gift card purchase, it was worth the hassle to use the Target pharmacy. Without the gift cards, I won't ever have a large enough purchase (using the pharmacy rewards) to justify the added hassle. The Walgreen's pharmacy is closer to my house and since I work 7a-7p, four days a week, it was very difficult to get to Target's pharmacy while it was open.

I'm not hostile or angry with Target. I agree, it was a great deal while it lasted, but they have every right to change or discontinue a program that is costing them money.

I don't fault them, but we'd also go back to Walgreens. We switched to Target and were planning to use them almost exclusively because of this program. Without the GC option, my spends at Target will be $100 here or $150 there, making the discount coupon worth a whopping $5 or $7.50. That isn't worth the short hours and less convenience of Target over Walgreens.

So-- Is this announcement posted somewhere official?
Or is it just ppl trying it and getting turned down?

I was unaware that the Pharmacy Rewards could never be applied to Disney GCs online, as I had never tried it before, but thanks for clarifying.

Although looking over my target.com order history - I was able to order ten $50 Disney Gift Cards on September 3, 2013 - so the limiting to 3 is relatively new.

You are correct. In the past, you could order 10 at a time. Now, you can only order 3 at a time. This has changed in the last few months.

That is EXACTLY the way I feel!
