For those of you that used your TripAdvisor ticket to upgrade to an AP, does the voucher show the same expiration as the original ticket (January 2025, I believe)?

FWIW, I genuinely F-ed up the dates (selected the right days on the wrong month) and while I couldn’t change it in the app, I called the number on the error page and a Disney employee was able to change the dates to the right date. It took about 5m before she stopped trying to nudge me back to the website, but eventually all it took was an extra $20 per ticket (I assume my correct dates were slightly more expensive).

Your mileage may vary, especially once Disney realized that people stumbled upon this amazing deal.

I know you’re suppose to put a date on trip advisor for when you’re going, but I was going to buy tickets (with no exact dates planned yet) so does it matter the days you choose on trip advisor or do they just send you the ticket then once it’s in MDE it’s just to be used before the expiration??

The date shouldn't matter as long as you use it before the expiration. I used December 31, 2023 and my Disneyland dates are February 2024. I have the tickets added to my account and I can make park reservations for 2024 dates.

You answered your own question. In that case, you wouldn't have to change them.

Who and how did you contact someone at TtipAdvisor?
Thre was no contact information in the cancellation letter I got from them.

1-866-648-5873 is the number I got from the viator chat when I couldn't log into my old TA account that is linked to FB and no longer accessible. I also was not able to get any emails from them bc that email address was linked to the FB connect login.

The only thing the 3 hours of chat did was get me the phone number. I was able to ask for the vouchers to be email to me while I was on the phone with her. She did and I got them.

My charges are still pending since the 4th.

WDW ticket prices are date-based. The date you select will determine the price, as well as the expiration date X days later (based on start date and length of ticket).

So you can choose any date, but unless it's within range of when you really expect to use the tickets you will just have to upgrade and change the dates, paying any increase in price (and a lower-priced date does not get a refund).

Thank you for explaining this! I saved $500 after switching to a room only and buying my tickets here (well, i did decrease the park day by 1 which i had planned on anyway). I wish i had been able to get 12/22 Christmas party tickets, but this worked well!

Disneyland tickets are different than Disney World tickets.

WDW tickets are date-based. The designated start date not only determines the price but also the expiration, which will be X days after the start date depending on length of ticket.

I'm not as familiar with Disneyland tickets, but I believe they expire maybe 13 days from first use, and aren't as variable in pricing.

Stuck in limbo and not sure what to do, for those who haven't seen; my tickets through Tripadvisor were cancelled AFTER I had already upgraded the tickets to annual passes through Disney. Tripadvisor said I can call and rebook with the discount but the annual passes are still linked on my profile and I haven't heard anything from Disney about them being cancelled. I know in all likelihood Disney will find out eventually and cancel the annual passes and refund me the money I spent to upgrade. But what if they never do and now I basically have annual passes for $240 each.

I will probably end up just buying the tickets again and waiting to see what Disney does on their end.

It's worth trying, but sometimes you won't get Rakuten credit if you're using a promo code.

So let's say I'm planning to go in the spring but change my mind and after I purchase tickets decide to go in the fall. I call Disney to upgrade do they give me the Disney price for those tickets to apply to the new dates or the amount I paid? I'm sure this has been answered, but this is a long thread.

Mine have not been canceled. I had issues with them be attached to a TA account that I have only ever accessed via Facebook connect. As of earlier this year, log in with FB no longer works. I couldn't log in and they couldn't email me a confirmation email bc essentially while my email was in the system it was attached to Facebook so it was like it existed but didn't.

I didn't realize that the confirmation emails they were sending had a link for the vouchers so once I did, I quit chatting with them and called that 866 number I posted above and was able to talk to someone which made all the difference in the world.

I paid with chase sapphire via PayPal. The charges are still listed as pending with chase but completed on PayPal. On the TA site they say confirmed.

Did you call them to find out why they were canceled?

Are you going to buy them via the TA Target coupon again? Or did you call TA and see if they give you back the discount?
