Tapestry of Nations vs. Tapestry of Dreams vs. Nothing

NO Parade?

my kids will be heartbroke to find this out. Its one of their highlight at Epcot.
While I prefered Nations, (and the timekeeper) Dreams was very creative.
I REALLY enjoyed watching the drummers, too!

At least I can console myself with the music.......(as soon as I find that CD)

I am so pleased that Epcot got rid of this parade. They ran it twice a night and it was VERY much a roadblock in the world showcase. Also, too many CM's got hurt in those costumes. I'm also happy that they got rid of the double decker bus.

I loved TON and I was really expecting not to. When we saw it the first time, chills! Dreams was good but not quite the same. Now nothing.:( It probably was expensive to run but can't they bring it back just when I come?;) :p

Loved Tapestry of Nations (tried to love Tapestry of Dreams but I just couldn't :( ) and I still miss the parade each and every time I am at Epcot.
The Timekeeper gave me the chills the first time I saw him and I never lost that feeling no matter how many times I viewed the parade.
IMHO, the cast members who performed in the parade were the most interactive and energetic of all in WDW.
I really, really, really miss TON! :( :(

I never got to see Nations, but we absolutely loved Dreams. We were so upset when we heard it had ended, my 7 year old emailed Disney and asked them to bring it back. We actually got a phone call a few weeks ago from someone at Disney who told my ds that his email made it to the desk of the president of Epcot, which I thought was cool. Anyway, sadly there is no plan for a parade at Epcot until 2007 for the 25th Anniversary. I still think those of us who love these parades should persist in trying to get it back. It seems such a waste to have all of those floats and costumes just rotting somewhwere in storage.
By the way, Iam listening to the Tapestry CD now. Worth every penny of the 20 dollars.
:)

Don't ask my 6 yr old.....she's heartbroken because her "Tapestry my dreams " ( that's how she calls it ) is not running anymore. We watched both parades everytime we could, on this last trip we saw TOD like 6 times, she loved the interaction with the puppets , I loved the music and just sitting around the World showcase to watch it w as fine with me.
It wasn't that crowded when we were there at all.

We loved both parades and are very sad to see them go. I wouldn't mind if either one of them came back. My kids did enjoy Dreams better because they could put thier dreams in the dream catchers.

Speaking of freaky, did you ever see guests trying to dance like the puppeteers? Without the costumes, now THAT is freaky. They look ridiculous, in fact, IMHO.

Put me in the freak category - I thougt the parade was creepy - the puppets were scary looking and I think they could potentially cause nightmares for children. I only saw it once (with the big round drum thing rolling along) and am glad it is gone so the walkways can be freed up again.

just my 2 cents.

liked Nations better.

These were my son's favorite parades, he will really miss them.

On the parade front rumors has a new EPCOT one for the 25th Anniversary - 2007. I cannot wait.

:Pinkbounc :bounce:  :bounce: :Pinkbounc

I enjoyed them both. I really missed hearing that wonderful music and interactions with the puppets this last trip. Oh well.....

OK this thread has just put the last nail in the coffin on my trip down there Sept 5. I was looking forward to that parade very very much. I also booked before I realized the 5th and 6th were
Nights of Joy, YUCK!!!!
I went last year and it was the worst experience I have ever ever had at Disney nothing but smoking screaming swearing teenagers everywhere thousands of them.
Now I am committed to the parks during this time, non refundable you can bet I won't be in Magic Kingdom those nights for sure.
But no Parade in Epcot, that is awful.

I'm still very depressed that these are gone. :( I loved all three versions, but the Millineum version was the best, followed by the normal Nations, followed by Dreams. I still listen to the CD regularly.

Both parades were the best parades I've ever seen. My sister and her family, after seeing it for the first time, said This is what we waited for? They just didn't like it. But I think they just didn't get it.

For some people, Tapestry touches somewhere deep inside, stirs emotions, has meaning that is not obvious but is clear to the hearts and souls of many people. The repetitive song is like chanting, which can be a powerful mood and mind and spirit alterer. During the parades, I see people with awed looks on their faces, some with their eyes filling with happy tears, some gently swaying to the beat of the drums and the singing, some clapping with joy. Yes, there are negative peole there, too, but I choose to overlook them so that they won't spoil the experience for me. I feel sorry for those that don't get it, that don't feel it, that haven't been moved by Tapestry. I think Disney hit the nail right on the head with this one, created real magic, and some people have sadly missed out on it.

As for the children's voices in Dreams which didn't sit well with some people, I loved it. It was like the voices of angels!

I'm not a parades person, but I loved both of those parades. If they are truely gone, it's really too bad. They were unique, colorful and with great music. However, change is important too. Maybe they'll come up with something better!
