whats the better parade?
Nations? Dreams? or did Disney make the right decision in retiring the Tapestry parade altogether?

personally, i think the parade was WDW's illest parade theyve had. the music was great and the general concept for ToD made it top notch. a lotta people complain that the music was too repetitive, but i say that its part of the element.

What, they retired the parade:confused: We3 really enjoyed the first parade (Nations) much more that the second (Dreams).. It is a very sad Disney day in our household:( :(

I preferred the Millenium version of the parade (Nations?).

Nothing isn't necessarily bad tho'. Disney needs to give the "special reasons" to visit Disney a bit of a rest. I would prefer Disney put more time into the special promotions and actually give me something worth making a special visit for rather than just a marketing promotion...which is what I thought ToD became in the end...a shadow of its former self.

The TON and the Electric Light Parade were the only parades that I enjoyed. According to one CM I spoke with "In this current economic climate I don't think they'll be replacing TOD anytime soon". That's really too bad, IMO.

TON & TOD were the same IMHO. I loved it. Lived the music. Made a point to see tha last show of TOD.

I think it pulled a lot of peole into the World Showcase and when they had the food & wine festival at least the sold a lot of stuff. (OK I may have bought a few drinks)

My children loved the interaction they had with the parade pupppets. TOD and TON were close enough to being the same wonderful events and will be seriously missed by our family. They seemed to be very well attended. My guess is they were eliminated because they were labor intensive. Too bad.

I know I am going to get a lot of slack for this comment....

But my DH and I are not a fan of the Tapestry parades. We refer to them as the "Tapestry of Freaks" and usually stay clear of the parade route! There's just something freaky about those parade puppets.

Liked the music though!

DH loved the Tapestry parades, but I didn't really like them at all. I'm kind of glad not to have to avoid the crowds for the parade in EPCOT now. I thought the parade was way too long and all the characters/puppets were too similar. The first time we saw it (1/1/2000) it was cool. After that the attraction wore thin.
Just My Opinion!

I say at the next Dis-convention, we all need to wear shirts and grab a boom box, and parade around the WS with the music ourselves. Maybe Disney will get the message.

I enjoyed both Nations and Dreams, but I much preferred Nations. I really enjoyed these parades, and I feel like a little something is missing now when I go to Epcot in the evenings. The soundtrack was incredible too. I will also never forget the look of positive wonderment on my 54 year old mother's face when she saw ToN--she was mesmerized. That's one of my favorite Disney memories. :)

Disney, please bring it back! Even if it's only once a week..... :( The last performance was so sad....

My whole family disliked both parades and are happy to see them go! I don't think a parade is necessary at Epcot. They cause too much congestion and detract from the countries.

Nations!!!! I love the music, still listen to my CD whenever I'm stressed. Dreams was kinda silly compared with Nations. I wish they'd bring something back, maybe only one portion of the parade, that would just work it's way across world showcase.

I loved Nations and quite disliked Dreams. But I agree that the WS Promenade, just like the Animal Kingdom walkways, are not designed to support a parade and just causes everyone who just tries to get past to be miserable.

Don't know which version I saw in 2001, but I LOVED it and am so sad that it is gone. Every park needs a parade IMHO.

ToN was an inventive, interactive and innovative parade experience that never failed to bring me great joy upon my first sight of the Sage of Time. When they took him out, reworked the narration, inserted those annoying childrens voices and added the frighteningly freakish characters of Leonardo et al, it completely ruined the event. And even though I recognized the difficulty it presented for navigating the WS as well as the wind danger on the UK/France bridge, I was sad to see them eliminate legs of the parade route. It was so cool to be able to see the parade stretching from the UK gates to the Mexico gates.

Nations was my favorite of all the WDW parades, but I also loved Dreams. I will miss them both :( :(

LOVED, LOVED, LOVED, those parades!! Nations was a bit better, but still enjoyed Dreams too. The drummers were phenominal, and the "puppets" were terrific with the way they interacted with the crowds. On our last trip we made sure we saw it several times during our 2 week stay. Incredible music, and I play the CD in the car often, just to remind me of an incredible vacation.
