Tanya & Dan's VR DCL!!!Dec 4, 2009 MK & Epcot Photoshoot Pics Posted

LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE the SATC shoes. I need those shoes! That is something to be added to the list!

I love all of your plans for your at home reception and it's better to plan early because then you have so much more time to make sure things work out.

I love all of your ideas. Although I do think that pink is amazing I think that your DH maybe right. I know that my DF was freaking out when I started mentioning pink but as long as its not overkill I don't think he will even notice.

I love all of the Disney ideas and I know everything will look great. I don't know if I mentioned this before but that site is beautiful and I think that you have such a beautiful family as well.

Pink runners probably are pink overkill. If I had my way though, the whole world would be pink and blue! LOL. I don't want it to look like a baby shower.

I think maybe no table runners and just confetti around the vases. I just need to have the confetti made out of something heavy enough to not blow away. I have a ton of silk rose petals in the studio. Literally about 2000, but I know that they will get blown all over the place out there.

I think that I am going to make more hidden mickeys like for my bouquet, but I am going to put them in the centerpieces for the reception. I also found (on ebay of course) where I can get the mickey shaped balloons in different colors. These are the celebrating balloons that they have in all the ads. I think that I am going to get some of these and make balloon bouquets to cover an ugly storage door in the pavillion. Then the kids can all run around with them later.

My DH is even excited enough about this project that he went out and bought the flower gel stuff. He bought a lot of it for about $12.00. It should be about double the amount that we need. He wants to be able to play with it and try it out now. He has also found someplace where we can order the light up cubes for about $1 a piece. So I think that he's going to get a few and try them out.

Here are some pics from Courtney's pj. These are my inspiration:

My hubby's tux came!!!!!!!:banana::banana::banana:
I'm so excited b/c it has been 9 years since I have seen my DH in a tux! I think that he looks fabulous.

The pants still need to be hemmed, but everything else fit really well - except for the shirt. I ordered the wrong length on the sleeves. It's only off by a couple of inches, so it isn't noticeable when the jacket is on, but I'll have to get him another shirt. And of course, the shirt is the only part we can't exchange. Go figure!
We got both the mickey bow ties - which I didn't think that we were going to get - and black bow ties. I definitely like the black better. Dan said he feels like a dalmation with the mickey one on! :lmao:

Here are his pics:

I am so excited!

I agree with the Black Bow Tie! Your husband looks great though. I can not wait to see your pictures!

Here is what we are going to do for our at home party cake: We are going to get this Wilton castle cake kit
castlecake.jpg

And my DH is going to make the cake for us. We are going to make it blue so it is like Cindy's castle of course! We are also going to add a thin sheet cake on the bottom and then get these figurines to put on it. It will be like a combination of the two.

My DH says he is up for the challenge, even though he hasn't made any big cakes since the kids were born. He's really good though, and we are going to do a few trial runs.
Here's our wedding cake that he made
weddingcake.jpg

The entire thing - all four tiers and icing, as well as filling was made from scratch. I wonder if I can get him to use the same recipe, since it was soooo yummy. It was white chocolate cake and white chocolate buttercream icing, with raspberry filling in one tier, strawberry liquour filling in 2 tiers, and white chocolate in the last tier. Just thinking about it make my mouth water!!!:rotfl:

That is so cool that your DH is making your cake (and that he made your wedding cake!). I'm very impressed. Can't wait to see it.:goodvibes

That tux is awesome!! And I love your cakes- it all sounds like such fun- and I can't believe your DH can bake them! Wow! That is impressive!

Oh I think you will need several trial runs... ya know... just to make sure it tastes right... also you may need brownie trail runs, cookie trial runs, ice cream trial runs.... lol:rotfl2:....Ok, I am off to dessert, I mean dinner:lmao:

seriously though that cake is awesome, and I love your wedding pics so sweet:goodvibes

Thanks! He was in the restaurant business for about 20 yrs, so he has a love for this stuff.

I love the cake idea!!! trial runs are always so yummy, I am sure it will be great!
I love trial runs! Probably a little too much:lmao:

I think that I am gaining weight from all the trial runs, plus the birthdays, and the candy lollypops we had to test...but it all tasted good!

So I am supposed to be taking a test online, and instead I keep playing with wedding stuff. I need to be banned from the DIS until I am finished with school in the the next couple of weeks!!!

But here are some really pretty inspiration pics. I love these. A little over the top for our VR, but I think that we may borrow and greatly simplify a few ideas for our at home reception.

Haha I took a few online classes and always had the same problem!!! I love the inspiration pics! I think they are really neat!

I love that arch too, but I'm cheap!! No $1,000 flowers for me! My DH and I have been talking about instead of renting out the gazebo, we would just put an arch up in front of the water. (Much cheaper. Plus we already have an arch in the studio.) The whole park faces the water. The thing is, that I don't want another whole ceremony.

I want my SIL, Kim, who I am very close to, to do literally a blessing for us. But I want us in our wedding clothes, since the family won't get to see us all dressed up. I don't know how much to incorporate!!! Help!

I love the shepard's hooks with the white fabric flowing off of them. I actually found some of these at the Dollar store recently, and I'll have to go back to see if they have more. I also really want to do a dove release b/c I've seen this done and it is beautiful and greatly symbolic, but the birds are $150 for basically a few seconds. My DH keeps threatening to just catch some pigeons and spray paint them white! :rotfl: I may have to find something else symbolic to do.

I also wanted to use some of my Disney snowglobes somehow, but I am terrified that they will get broken since it is outside. I think that they will just have to stay home, and I'll use the gel cylindars instead.

I also ordered this
cookiejar.jpg

It's a cookie jar. I have this idea in my head that our reception is going to be like a family festival/carnival feel to it. I want to bring picnic blankets to lay on the grass, and have popcorn machine, and a cotton candy machine. I also want to have a silly cake table with all kinds of candies, cookies (hence the cookie jar), and treats on it. I really want to treat our guests to a celebration.

Here are some more ideas and projects I have:
I'm thinking about using these for invites for STD's and at home reception

Heartscopy.jpg

I totally just photoshopped someone else's info off of these invites. I'm going to see if they are high quality enough for me to print my own. That's kind of crooked of me, but I am all for free stuff.
Here is something I got off the DISign board:
ladyandtramplove.jpg

This is a wrapper for fun size Hershey bars. It is too cute. I am definitely using this for our reception.

Here is an example of what I might do for a STD. This is the date we are shooting for. I will hopefully confirm on Monday. If so, I will either get postcards or magnets with this printed on it from VistaPrint.

My lazy butt should make an inspiration board. But I am just worn out lately. School has really taken a lot out of me.

Anywho, here is another random inspiration pic. I like the tiki torch idea for the at home stuff. We have a lot of these from my mom's wedding in different sizes.

earrings.jpg

Here is what I decided for earrings. I am hoping that with both the pearls and the rhinestones, that it will tie the necklace and tiara together. Plus I'm a sucker for all things girly, and I love the hearts.

I looked high and low for some with a hidden mickey, but nothing would match my tiara. So these are a little more traditional.
