Ok....so my mom's here to see me this week, and has been wanting a new "do" and doesn't have anyone at home....so she asks if she can go to my stylist. I say "sure", make her an appointment and send her off this morning. Well, her appt. was at noon and she's not back yet! I know she was getting color (actually 2 treatments...first all over color then highlights) and was thinking about a perm for waves so she wouldn't have to roll it anymore....but 3.5 hours??? Now I'm worried she didn't like it and is making the girl do it over  Always a possibility with my mom.... Worst part....if she doesn't like it, it will be my fault since it's my stylist. Here's hoping she looks good...will let you know tonight!

Well, Abbie's waking so I'm probably out of her for now...will check back when I can. May take mom to the mall to go to William-Sonoma store...she doesn't have one and cooks more than anyone I know ::yes:: If she's not broke from the salon, anyway....

kadaten Good luck with your mom's hair...are you willing to be sneaky and call the salon to check on her?

Danauk I know what you mean about what real Italians and others think of their sections in Epcot. I've always thought Parisians must think other major cities are so ugly because not many cities even come close to the beauty of Paris and the Champselysee (sorry about the butchered spelling) When my friends from New York come to visit and eat our pizza and Italian food, they always act :snooty: like New Yorkers have the market on good pizza, then again, maybe they do but what would the real Italians say about New York Italian food?

cadburysmom Funny you should ask...I just called to see if she was done yet, and she's already gone...just waiting for her arrival! Didn't have the gumption to ask the receptionist if she left happy

RickinNYC --I bet this is how cadburysmom is reacting to your lovely songs.:teeth:

Ok, now that I'm speaking of food....I ate like a pig at WDW and had the best food ever! I don't think I had anything that I didn't like......this is especially bad cause I was hoping to lose some weight with all the walking required in the parks.....but NOOOOOOO!

SATURDAY NIGHT:First night at WDW

Hoop Dee Doo Review - Highly recommend! The menu consisted of ribs and fried chicken and the fried chicken was out of this world. I was enjoying myself snarfing down ribs and when I offered some to Jordan, he said, no ma'am, I'm sticking with this bucket of chicken....thinking he was crazy, I took a bite of that bird's leg and wow! It WAS good fried chicken, maybe the best I've ever had, and I'm actually FROM the South where we quard our fried chicken recipes with our lives! :teeth: The show was hokie but very funny and we enjoyed it thoroughly.....just gotta see it to believe it! Here's a pic of Jordan helping to keep the band in rhythm: Yee Ha!

We then took the boat back to MK and saw the fireworks from the water......it was such a nice start to a wonderful vacationprincess:

This has got me thinking, I wonder what Italian people think of the Italy area or what the French think of France?

Well, I can tell you that the Japan pavilion is pretty darn authentic. (I lived in Japan for 6 years and my Mom is from Japan)Whenever we go to Epcot, I like to wander and soak that country in.

The only gripe I have about the main restaurant is that it's the American version of a Japanese restaurant, much like Benihana's. Yes, the food is great and it's entertaining, but it's not the real thing. But it's fun.

And no, I won't step foot in a Benihana's anywhere.

NC Beast has just walked in from doing the laundry. Yes, I know bad wife---and we lost his b-day cake mix somewhere. So no cake for him today unless we buy one later.:D

My sister in Atlanta and my brother in Norfolk complain that they can't find a decent loaf of Italian bread or some decent German sausages. LOL. I'm an Italian restaurant snob. That's the cool thing about living in the northeast--still lots of immigrants and their good cooking. Bwhaaaaa! One of my friends's mom is from Sicily. She doesn't ask you if you want to join them for dinner. She tells you to sit down--no actually--she yells at you to sit down and eat some linguini!!!! And my friend MaryJo's dad owns a nice retaurant about two miles down the road from me--Rico's Restaurante'! I'm very blessed. ;0)

But then again, I wouldn't know a grit from an ocra from greens and beans. And I've never had mint julep either. Maybe I'm not so blessed. ;)

I love the German pavillion--especially the Steiff store. ::yes::

CHEERINGMOM, I hope you don't mind, but I told RICK about our little foot friend from a couple of weeks ago. :p I thought it might make him feel better to know that he's not the only one who gets strange PM's. ;)
