Sorry for slowing the swap down for everyone and I appreciate that no one has sent out the mob after me or anything!

I'm hoping that I'll be able to be around more after the next few weeks and I hope everyone is having good vacations and trips to see the mouse!

Everyone can swim in my pool , well not everyone at once cause you all cant fit. It is only 35x17 . My son uses it to pracitce is breathign for Scuba. LOL he thinks he can get so good he will use 1/2 the air the rest of us use . Cracks me up I tell ya .

CourtasanSatine I dont understand your post about the can can girl . I went back and read the page before and still dont get what you are answering . Can you explain please? I'm not crazy just a little unwell.

OK, Since it was so late, we wound up at a Chinese place for lunch. We the went on a Box Run to Sam's, got more plastic baggies...Some of the bags in the swap stuff were falling apart so we used all of our big Zip-Locks making sure the stuff stays together... Did I mention before how much fun we are having hosting this swap? Yippee!!!!!

While we were at Sam's, the steaks looked up at me and said "Are you grilling tonight?" (OK, it was actually a sign). I bought a bag, Marinated a Small and a large one in the Food Saver, Packed up the rest for the next few days, and came in here to catch up. I guess I will have to change in a minute to go to the Church thing for my friend at work. They are honoring him and it is a surprise. I hafta go, I am real close to him. He drove the limo for my wedding (before we sold it)....

Oh Well, Have a great day everyone, we will check back in after the event. I hope we will be able to pack everything up tonight, I don't want to have to delay the swap another day.....

:bounce:

Oh, and another police related story. My crazy (seriously) bi-polar neighbor called the police on me last year. Who wants to know more?

Just popping in to say hi. I missed breakfast, but thanks anyway NCBelle. (Sorry, I'm time and color-challenged today).

Lewski, which town of mine... Columbus where I live, or Nashville, where my heart is? And what is AMW and why was it Creepy, or do I really want to know? and what is your nutty neighbor calling the police on you for??? Do I really want to know that either??? ... By the way, you gotta hurry and get another job, girlfriend ... my time to chat is during the day when the kids are at school and the DH is at work ... so I miss talking to ya!

Mad4Mickey - My kids want a pool in our backyard, but it is full of huge shagbark hickories... not only would we have more leaves than water it it, but we'd have big floating pieces of bark. I envy your pool.

Danauk - I envy your pretty weather.. it's rainy and dreary here, with a chance of severe storms tonight. Sorry about your Venus Flytrap.

Someone asked about storms and pets ... was that you, Ohana ... wellneither Toby or Tucker like them, but they don't really freak out. Just want to be near me or Ed. The girls are more upset than the dogs.

Kismet -- welcome back. You've not been around a lot since I first came to the mansion, but I love telling people about your wedding! Makes me want to have a re-wedding someday down there!

cadburysmom ... glad Jordan's party went well. 3rd place in Lazer Tag is pretty impressive ... do you play often? I went one time when our Sunday School class challenged all of our teen children to a match ... someone shot me almost the whole time and by the time I figured out what was happening, the thing was almost over. DH sprained his ankle, too, trying to be a young, agile marksman. I'm so glad birthday parties only come once per year, per kid, and I only have two at home who are almost beyond that stage!!! I guess I'm a party pooper.

Okay, gotta go hit the treadmill and walk off the Crunchy Cheetos I just ate. Dang... I need a padlock on my mouth and someone else needs to hang on to the key!

Y'all have a great Sunday... I'll try to bop back in and see if BichonBarb stops by, and to see if RRBB has gallstones. (hope not)

 ILT

ps. Ohana, can't wait to get my box. I hope my swap stuff wasn't too puny or weird. If anyone thinks so, PM me so I'll do better next time!

Must....know....details!! And I'm actuallly trying to go to Disney with you?!?!? (Are you really and truly an axe murderer? ) Perhaps I should be asking you for some references :teeth:

We are making the pond more frog friendly by making sure there is a gradual slope from one of the ledges for them to get out of the pond. They don't like the steep sides. When the pond was a little overgrown they could climb up the sides of the :flower2: but we had to take a lot of the :flower2: out as we could not see the :fish: !!

At the moment the weather here is still nice. We have cleared the garden up and it looks really nice now (I took a photo to share with you later). So I'm sitting on my swing seat with my lap top typing away to you guys (you have got to love wireless internet connections!). I think this evening I will enjoy a :drinking1: of wine on my swingseat and enjoy my new water feature ::yes::

Afternoon, y'all! First time I've had a chance to be on since yesterday afternoon...not too bad...only 7 or 8 pages to catch up on! Glad it wansn't a weekday!

Dinner with the nieghbors went well. They stayed until 11, so I missed DIS-ing last night. Had gotten DH at the airport at 6:30 so we hadn't even had a chance to chat yet... Kids REALLY missed him, so we've had a nice family day. He made them pancakes for breakfast (his specialty), then we went to the park to play and Captain D's for lunch (he loves the fish and the kids love the popcorn shrimp...their little weekend lunch date). Then to Target for a new CD player for DD's room (DS broke hers  ) and flip-flops for DH.

Then off to Sears. They're having a sale. Look what I got!!
Disney portable DVD player
If you remember, I'd posted how disappointed we were with the Audiovox we had....so we're replacing it. Didn't want to endure the 12-13 hour trip to Disney on Friday without one in good, working order :)

So the kids are napping, and I'm catching up...

I gotta tell you, it's ONLY 2g of fat and there is 1g of fiber. For FRUIT.........do you hear me, it's for FRUIT. It rocks. Made by T.Marzetti and you must check it out. Mmmmmmmmm, I did find myself dunking just my finger though. Ooops, did I say that outloud?
I love this stuff! Also the caramel, and possibly best of all is the peanut butter caramel flavor!! YUMMY :)

Oh, ohanafamily and RRBB!! Just wanted to say THANKS again and again for all the trouble you're going through for all of us!! I do hope everything we've sent is fun/cool enough to make it all worth while!! And we promise not to make you do it next time....unless you set the bar TOO high that noone could fill your shoes, then I'm afraid you'll have to do it....but we'll let you at least pick the time :teeth: THANKS AGAIN FOR EVERYTHING

Danauk Your garden and water feature sound absolutely fabulous!! You must share some pictures with us!! And I'm completely jealous over your wireless internet. I'd love to get one of those thingies set up, but there's always something more pressing to spend the money on (not to mention I'd also have to buy the laptop, too, since right now we just have a desktop monstrosity...) Oh well...maybe next time we replace it!!

I've come back inside and am watching Britains worst husband on the TV. These guys are hillarious!!!! All they had to do was make a pasta sauce and fruit salad, iron a shirt and put a load of washing in. The guy that is on now didn't know you had to boil the pasta. He put a whole unpealed clove of garlic onto a pan with some butter and dried pasta. Then he chopped the fruit for the salad (left the skin on the pineapple) and poured milk over in (put in a wine glass), burnt the shirt and then put red clothes in the white load in the machine!! (Which he didn't put any powder in!!) The next round is a romantic meal with their wife!!
I'm glad my DH isn't like this!!!!

Eerm.... nearly on page 2 guys!!!!

What y'all doing? I'm watching a movie on Sky box office (pay per view) with Hugh Grant in at the moment, he's just got a towel wrapped around his waist right now :faint: It's called Two weeks notice and is quite funny

Back from Walmart. NO yummy chocolate dipping sauce for me .

Sun is back but clouds are kinda rolling around.

Story time I guess I didnt know about that.

Ok, I'm back. Had to run to a store that is closing to remodel, got 20% off everything. :) Only spent 20.00. I got 3 packs of rice crackers. I love them and can't get them at the regular market any longer.

I did get some seeds for the flower garden. 4 packs and I've been out, planted them, threw some topsoil with fertilizer down and watered them. They are late summer bloomers , so I may have a chance.

kadaten yes, the peanut butter caramel one is killer. BUT, more fattening and......... I .......... must ....... be ........... good.

OK:
ibouncetoo, kadaten and iluvtink want to know my stories.

First.......the bi-polar neighbor----------> I was pruning my bushes and I had just gotten my Durango. The alley seperates the houses and she has these bushes that are gigantic growing and they were sticking out a bit scraping my truck at times. As I mentioned, she has issues and got divorced about 2 yrs ago, so there is no man about the house. In addition to her bi-polar, she has asthma, is way overweight and has outside allergies. I trimmed them, maybe 2". She freaked out. She called the police and threatened to kick my ***. Well, they came. She wanted to press charges and tried to so they came over and got all my info. I was a wreck. I thought I was helping this dumb oaf. I was helping myself get in trouble, that's what I was doing. The police lady told me nothing would come of it. The prosecutor would laugh it off. Nothing did, but I was a total wreck crying and all. I was really too. Her daughter plays in our yard and is unsupervised constantly (ever since she was 3). Well, after that incident..........no more. Not allowed in our yard. That whacky mom may sue us if something happened. She was talking about suing me, among other things, for cuttin 2" off her bushes. Did I ever mention this girls daughter whacked my son in the mouth/cheek a few months before the bush incident sending us to the ER with a baseball bat ? OMG, I almost fainted on that one. There was a lot of blood and had it been a bit higher, it would've been his temple.

I am Back... just checking in...

Here is a quick recap.. ( skip it if you find it is too boring)

Scouts were supposed to leave at 5:00 pm on Friday, DSs and I and several other scouts were ready... and then we waited and waited and waited for this one guy who had the key to the storage locker so thatwe could all get out tents...
He finally shows up and we get all packed and get ready to caravan down the road.. BUT WAIT.. he needs to stop for gas..

okay more wasted time.. but we are on the road at 6:30 . It is a 4 hour drive. We had a very hard time finding the camp ground, very dark and rural .. but finally did and start to set up camp, tents, find the litrine, etc. We got to sleep at midnight. Well not really, other scout troops were arriving later than us , so we had to listen to them getting set up until after 2:30 am.

Up at 5:40, and I think.... Hmmm wonder where the shower is???
Oh NO!!! I discover, no electric or running water anywhere near..

Oh well guess I didn't need to bring the hair dryer.. washed with my bottle of water . Breakfast was quick as we needed to get to the meeting place to start the 20 mile hike.

Left the camp ground at 7:15... arrive at New Salem at 8:00 am. Meet up with hundreds of other Boys Scout troops from IL, IN, IA and KS.

Register and start the hike. For the first section, things were going just fine... the weather was upper 50's, we walked in a forest area, muddy trail, saw some deer, lots of hills, up and and down we go. the kids were doing fine and I thought 'okay. things will be good.'.

We get to the first check point at 5.7 miles. Everyone rests, takes off their shoes , put moleskin on the blisters that are starting, I pass out the bags of trail mix that I made.

and we take off for the second section... it is starting to get colder, the wind is starting to blow and by 11:00.. drip..drop..drip..the rain starts.. a slow, light rain..
On go the ponchos.. and we keep going.

Second checkpoint at 9 miles... it's 11 :30... we check in but don't stop and rest.. since it is still raining..

We walk and walk and walk and then rain starts to get a little bit harder now and the wind picks up even more..It is open field and the wind wisks along.blow ing the poncho's..we try to find a relatively dry spot to stop and have lunch... looked and looked and looked.. wheat fields, cow pastures, corn field.. no sheltere here.. found a bunch of pine trees to shelter us from the wind..
we make sandwiches, eat fruit drink gatorade.. and contiune the walk..

Third checkpoint...14 miles.. raining even harder, the temperature is dropping like a rock, the wind is whipping around., the trail turns , now the rain and wind are head on... DS eric said it is like the rain is punching you in the face..
From the knees down, the jeans are wet, shoes and socks too..slip, slide, slog thru the hike..

Fourth check point.. 17.5 miles .no rain fly to stand under.. so we check in and just keep going.. it is 3:30 pm..the jeans are soaked from the pockets down now..the rain lets up for about 10 minutes.. the kids stop complaining... but then...

the rain starts again only this time it is torrential.. buckets..hard driving rain.. we slow the walking pace.. head down keep going.. one foot in front of the other , shift weight.. only a few more miles.. we can do..

We get to the finsh line at 5:00 pm.. all the scouts and leaders finished the hike..

YEAh!!!

time to get onto the cars, go back to camp and set up the cooking line to make dinner.. We were too wet and crabby to make dinner.. so The adults decided to go the old Country buffet.. that way all the kids will find something that they can eat..and it will be warm and dry..

Afer OCB, back into the cars and drive throught the pouring rain to the campsite...

ON NO!!!! The tents on floating on water... the sleeping bags are wet, ..

quick decison.. let's go home!!!

Pack up the wet stuff... load it into the cars... and at 9:30 pm we leave... drive 4 1/2 hours in a downpour back home.. I pulled in at 2 :00 am..

Today is laundry, grocery store, house cleaning..., soccer games.. but first, i am going to take my laptop to the hot tub, soak my sore muscles, have some wine, and DIS and read what has been going on with TAGLIKINS
since Friday.

Meet ya there...

Second police story involved someone going to jail! It wasn't me. I was asleep in my townhome, when I woke to loud banging at 2:20am on my. I peeped through the peep hole to see it was my ex. He was . He was pounding on the door with a long flashlight (night stick looking thing). He was beating on it hard. I was holding the door from behind hoping it wouldn't open. The cordless was upstairs and I was afraid to leave the door (fear of him coming in). One of my neighbors heard the commotion (hard not to) and called the police. They arrived and "Real Stories of the Highway Patrol" was doing a ride along that night. The Trooper came to my door and wanted to ask some questions. After about 1 minute, I realized something wasn't right as there was this in my face. I didn't know exactly what was going on, but it was fishy. They took photos of my door and took him away after a struggle. By the time they got there, he was in his car with the windows up and wouldn't let them in. Finally, he gave up. I was contacted a few days later by Bona Vista Productions (I think that's who it was) and they paid me 500.00 to air the clip without fuzzing out my face. They wanted to only give me 250.00 and I said no, but 500.00 I would do it. I had to replace the steel door on the townhome, but other than that everything was ok.
