Amanda - yeah, I was looking at those dates! But I can't make mine any later in the month. I definitely wanted to take in the F&G Festival, and that ends the weekend after I'm there. Plus DH's boss is taking a vacation and leaving the day after I get back, so I'll need to be here then to help DH run the camp. And, since camp goes into full summer swing the first week of June, I can't be gone then either!

Don't feel too badly about your friend. I mean, I know you do, but you have to do the best thing for your family.

I've been waffling back and forth on whether or not to do a PTR....on the one hand, I want to, just cuz I'm so dang excited!! But, I dunno.... I might just do a TR. I have so many great Toy Story quotes to use this time! (last trip was Incredibles-themed...this one's Toy Story. Not sure why I tend to "theme" my trips.:confused3).

HMPH. Well, I guess that's okay. :rotfl:

I wish I was going to see the F&G Festival, but being out of work those weeks would definitely be career suicide. :sad2:

A Toy Story themed TR would be great!

At the rate I'm getting my TR done, I won't be finished with it until after I get back from the next trip.

HELLO!!!!

How are the babnanas? :goodvibes

I'm always such a happy gal on Saturday afternoons. I'm done with work for three solid days, and I've taken a nap. There's nothing this pregnant body loves more than a nap.

I had a doctor's appointment on Wednesday, and got to hear the baby's heartbeat. I'd had a rough day at work, and that is just such a life-affirming sound. I felt blessed. I can't wait for the ultrasound, which is on March 9th! Then we can end the boy v. girl debate. ;)

Hi. :wave2:

I think I am feeling a bit better today. I went out on the ice for a spell and caught a 25in pickerel. Then I went for a walk. I don't want to do too much so I am resting this evening.

LegoMom, you must be happy you get to see your Dad soon. :goodvibes

TK, I love naps and I'm not even pregnant. Won't be long now before we know the sex of the little bean. How exciting!

OMG

i just got home from babysitting a barely 1yro and a slightly over 2yro

:scared1:

i'm so exhausted it's not even funny. and my legs are sore. and not to be rude or snobby but i didn't exactly get paid that well so that doesn't help. :headache:

Sounds like a good day. Enjoy those naps while you can. And... GO PINK!!!

IWAS - what do you charge for babysitting? Mine charges $5 per hour, per kid. And that's a family friend discount.

What, only 2? ;) I work in daycare so I know all about little ones making you exhausted. Of course if the lady only had 2 kids in her daycare, I wouldn't have a job. :rotfl2:

My daughter babysat for a family that paid her 1/2 of what all her friends were making and to top it off, they were not easy parents to work for. It was not worth it. I understand if you are not happy with being underpaid.

So y'all know I'm taking a solo trip soon. I don't talk too much about it around here at home, because the kids aren't going and it would just be pretty rotten to be rubbing it in!:upsidedow Well, earlier today DH and I were discussing dates while looking at the calendar....we went over the dates next weekend that I'll be visiting my dad, then I confirmed for him the dates of my solo trip, spoken of simply as my "other trip." DS13 was within ear shot, and he asks "What other trip?"....I hesitated before answering him, not knowing exactly how I wanted to answer him. He persisted so finally I just said "I'm taking a Mom's-mental-health get-away weekend," to which he immediately replied "I wanna go to Disney!!"

I am so transparent....(not that that's news!:lmao:)

In the early 80's I charged $2.50 per hour.

Glad to hear you're feeling better! Thank goodness.

I can't wait to find out what it is.

I have to laugh at your post, but only because I've been there, done that. I think I tried babysitting a couple of times before I decided it wasn't for me. Which was is funny, because I absolutely love kids.

Sounds like a good day. Enjoy those naps while you can. And... GO PINK!!!

It's like go green, but girlier. ;)

...just stinkin' BAB-NASTIC!!

I love Bab-nastic!!! :lmao:

...uhhhh, PIRATE vs. PRINCESS debate...

Well, yes. pirate: v princess:

Happy Monday, Babnanas!

What is it about a discount that makes me feel compelled to act on it? Something on sale at Walmart that I never knew I "needed"? Must buy!

25-40% off room discount at Disney? I want to go! :yay: :rotfl2:

So not going to happen, but fun to price out anyway. We need all our discretionary spending for the bean, the health care costs, and the FMLA leave I'm planning. In my state, you can take up to 16 weeks, and I plan to take all of it.

Long story, but my "leave" may be a lot longer than that. At my last doctor's appointment, my blood pressure flagged high. In the time I was there, the bottom number did go down, which is what they were looking for, but between all the changes going on at work in regard to scheduling and a lot of pressure I'm feeling, I wouldn't be suprised if I get put on bed rest again.

I don't mean to sound flip about it, it's not something I really want to happen, but I'm concerned. I was put on bedrest for the last three months of my pregnancy with my son, so it's not out of the realm of "normal" for me. I'm trying to do the best I can to eliminate stress, but it's hard. I do small things every day before my day starts, but it seems like when I get to work it all goes to pot, as the good captain would say. :lmao:

Anyway, the good news I have for you all is that I'm starting to feel the baby move. It's too early for anyone else to be able to feel it, but I get little...don't know how to describe it...like bumps, sort of every now and then, and that's a great feeling. :thumbsup2
