Oh, well, at least we know you're Yankee friendly. :lmao:

:rotfl2: That I am.

Ohgoodlord......between you and Mean Queen I feel like a total Starbucks dork....! I went last week and all I had the nerve to order was an Iced Cafe Mocha with whipped cream (because it was printed right on the menu and no way I could mess it up!:rotfl2:).

I'm getting better. I just learned my new favorite--a Grande Java Chip Frap with an extra shot of espresso and caramel added. Tastes like a Milky Way bar. . .

No way!!! Wow, that must be some sort of record.

Where's Guiness' Book of World Records when you need them?

I looooove me some sweet tea.....Real, brewed, SOUTHERN Sweet Tea.:lovestruc Got hooked on it since coming to Texas.

.

I love sweet tea, too. I hate going to Disney and being told they are too far south for sweet tea. What? There's no such thing as "too far south".

I wouldn't even know where to get that up here. The only place I know that makes sweet tea is McDonald's. :lmao:

:rotfl: I'll admit, there has to be some crack in McDonald's tea.

AHEM. . .first of all, I have totally started another new page.

Yeah, but you probably wouldn't be as fun, either.;)

And by the way, what is "resptable"?? Is it getting dark there already?:confused3

:rotfl2:

.

LOL. . .my typing has gotten worse and worse recently.

YOU TOTALLY ROCK!!! I have GOT to try this!

.

You are welcome. Don't tell I told my recipe. I could lose my Southern status.

lol--Many will say that the brand doesn't matter. I say it does. You buy Lipton's tea bags.

Boil 2 bags in a small saucepan. Bring it to a boil, then reduce. Leave it simmering for 15-20 minutes.

In a pitcher, add 1 cup (yes--1 cup) of sugar, at the bottom. Pour the hot tea into the pitcher. Stir the tea and sugar then--the hot tea will dissolve the sugar.

Then, fill the rest of the pitcher with cold water. Chill for 2-3 hours before you serve it--it'll be too hot and melt your ice cubes before then. Smileybug might do it different, but that's how I do it.

Is it sacreligous to use decaf Lipton? I actually prefer Lipton for iced tea, anyway, so at least I'm doing something right!

Thanks for sharing. I promise not to tell.

Bless your heart.....I have to disagree with you on this. Louisiana is the brand of choice. And you start with cold water and two family sized tea bags. Turn burner off just before water reaches a boil.(This is very important) Let the tea steep until it has reached the desired darkness. (This varies from person to person) We like ours DARK. Fill the pitcher about 1/3 with water and add desired amount of sugar. (Do this while tea is steeping so the sugar will disolve.) Then add brewed tea to water and sugar. Stir and refrigerate until cold. :thumbsup2:goodvibes

You sure can use decaf. But you can't refer to it as a true southern sweet tea. You have to call it slightly north of southern sweet tea. :rotfl:

Well, I guess that could work, Amanda, given that I'm slightly north of Southern. :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Smiley, you revealed! Two recipes in one night, WOW!

Now I really am an honorary GRITS.

Nah--especially since you are pg and will probably nurse.

:headache: I forgot I turn off my burner first!

You use Louisiana or Lusiane? Oh, well. I think TK has a pretty good idea what to do. . .it's so funny that people have different ways of doing it--I also press the teabags hard to get as much tea out as I can. And I use my fingers to do it. I don't know why it's important to me, but it is. :confused3

See, I would never press the tea bags. I read once that when you squeeze the tea bag, you release the excess tannins in the tea, making it more bitter.

There are more "This is the ONLY way to make sweet tea receips" than there are magnolia blossoms. :rotfl:

I hate to and I'm sure I am going to miss something. But I need to go. Have a great evening ya'll. :grouphug:

daisyyy, we say beach.

Smiley, OMG AKV Savanna view! How exciting!

The new siggies look great. I should do something with mine. Sure would be nice to have my computer back.

LegoMom, I couldn't take walking into spider webs either. :scared1:
