Finally got our 1st offer on the piece of land, but it is LOW. We counter offered and now waiting for a response. The land is my husband's and 2 of his siblings so they all have to agree. NOT easy dealing with family. Let's just say, some people are more greedy and unrealistic than others.

Think positive, and stay positive about next year's contract, and things will work out..........in the mean time, drink RUM! In our state, you have to buy your liquor from a "state" store... so that's a way to stimulate the economy. :thumbsup2:

That's interesting. We can buy alcohol at the grocery store.

It may depend on the specific alcohol. In NH, you can buy beer and wine at the grocery store, but anything harder has to come from the state liquor stores.

Not sure about here in TX, as I'm not buying any right now....I know I see beer in the grocery store and Super Walmart, but don't remember that I've seen wine there.:confused3

I'm back from my wonderful, amazing, fun and food-filled weekend at Disney! I wanted to respond to posts first, but I'll post a trip report on the thread later - it will be titled "Look! It's a lightning rod!"

Hmph. . .I want some rum.

I didn't put this on Facebook, because I have many co-workers including supervisors on FB. . .

On the bright side, at least I received a contract. Unlike other years when I held onto it until the last day, yesterday when the secretary handed it to me, I signed it and handed it directly back to her.

I understand. I haven't been able to vent about issues at my work on FB because I have work friends on there. Last week, I got a call from my department director. She wanted to let me know that an article in the paper the next day may mention that a part-time video production specialist may be cut from the city budget. Since it's my title, she wanted me to know it wasn't my position. Another co-worker of mine instead MAY get the axe. The budget isn't set in stone, but because that position was mentioned they had to let everyone know before it was for sure. I dont know how many others may lose their jobs. We were hoping for furloughs so no one would lose their jobs, but the police and fire unions won't go for it. So the rest of the city workers will have to be let go. While I am very happy I'm not losing my job, I'm not happy we are losing another person. Our schools are in worse shape than our city government, I can't imagine what's going on with that. I know many are against more taxes, but if it saves our kids education, I'm all for it. Few things are more important than a good education.

Thanks! I had about 1/4 bottle of wine last night. :rotfl: I slept well.

We can get beer and wine at the grocery store, but liquor must be bought from a state ABC store.

:goodvibes I saw your Facebook posts and I could not believe the crowds at Magic Kingdom. That's the main reason why I sprung (spring? sprang?) for the park hoppers Friday.

I hate the idea of higher taxes. Where I teach, there is a 23% unemployment rate already, with the schools and hospital being the biggest employer. The schools cut 50 positions and the hospital 150. It's getting really bad, and even if they raise taxes, it won't matter because no one has a job.

We can buy 'hard stuff' at the grocery store too.

I'm tired and going to bed. Long day at daycare and Hendrick and I had advanced obedience class tonight. He is exhausted. :lmao: No word about our counter offer yet. Another day of suspense.

Super slow day here today considering this is the 1st post of the day.

Hello all.

Still waiting for time to post about my trip. Will try after Idol.

Good evening all! My but it was a quiet day here.... I just got in from a romp outside with the goats and the dog. Love watching the goats try to head-butt the dog!

SadieDog, is Dega continuing to recover and get back to normal? Is she allowed to play with your other dog yet? (sorry, I forget his name!:flower3:).

I need to get started on my TR. I feel obligated to write it, since I started with a PTR, but I just don't feel like it! I did finally get all my pics uploaded.

Where in PA are you? I'm near Harrisburg.

:rotfl2: Goats and dogs, I'd love to see that.

Yes, Dega and Hendrick can play together. :cool1: Last Thursday was the 1st day Dega ran in a month. She tired out quicker than before, but that was expected. They are not high energy to begin with.

Well, I did online checkin this morning. I now have 9 days until we leave for Disney--doing the single digit dance this morning!

Woohoo for single digits! I'm still in the triple digits.
Somehow I've missed your PTR. I'll go subscribe and then begin the "catching-up" process. :goodvibes

Morning Babnanas! It's a VERY gray, wet and windy Wednesday here in Beantown, but we've got a few beautiful days on the horizon.

:flower3:

You know, I swear I could see you sitting right next to me whenever I rode "POTC." TK is Pirates is TK......:lovestruc But I think the guy with the cats had all the rum..... .

.

Awww. You thought of me. :goodvibes

Hmph. . .I want some rum.

Don't we all, love? Don't we all! :lmao:

I didn't want to quote the whole thing, but I just wanted to say I am so sorry. There really is nothing that is sacred, you know? And even though I know that in essence, I'm still shocked to hear about things like this.

:tiptoe: i thought i would drag my lazy but in here and say hey...

i haven't fallen off the face of the earth, just been too busy running around it.

i'll post some more later.

Looking forward to hearing from you!

...I just found out that my DS's Italian II teacher will not be returning - she has tenure, but they decided to take the Italian program out of the curriculum, so she's 'toast'...:sad2:

:confused3

I love it!

It's the Rum Stimulus Package.

Ugh. Seems like you and Amanda are having a tough time of it right now.

I know what you mean about not feeling, but just know that when you're ready, I am soooo ready to read it. :goodvibes

My son gets his BRACES OFF this morning!

 :woohoo:

Mornin', Tink!

Hey, nanners.

I just wanted to keep you updated on my blood pressure and whatnot. I've now been checked out three times in the office, the most recent being yesterday morning. It has gone down from that initial high reading, and although it's on the higher side, it's still "normal" for me in the context of the pregnancy. Unfortunately, I don't really have a baseline from before, so they can only go off of what it is now and what it was with my first DS.

They're not putting me on bed rest as of yet, because they don't really feel that it would be beneficial to me. They are, however, taking all the steps they took last time I had these issues, which is to schedule an ultrasound to make sure the baby is okay, and also to determine how many times a week I'll go for non-stress tests.

All in all, it would be great if my blood pressure were lower, but they're really taking all the necessary precautions to make sure that the baby and I are healthy. I've also made an appointment with a cardiologist, because even though I am pregnant and there's not much they can do for me right now, I felt it would be beneficial to establish a relationship.

So, that's pretty much it. I'll let you know when the ultrasound is. I'm really looking forward to seeing the bean again.
