This is just a recap of my kid-free weekend trip to Disney.
My 2 BFF's and I checked in at Animal Kingdom Villas in the Kidani side. The first thing I noticed about our Savannah view Studio was all savannah, no animals. Except an African duck. But we had big plans and needed to go, go, go. After a quickstop at DTD to renew passes, we headed over to the Dolphin for our dinner at Todd English's Blue Zoo. We checked in and started acting like country bumpkins new to the city, taking pictures of all the fancy schmancy stuff. The menu looked amazing, mostly seafood. But I had already budgeted out for the special chef's 5 course tasting. The waiter told us it was "highly recommended" we all order it because of pacing. After some discussion, we all went for it. The first course was a scallop on something, something, with something and squash. So yummy! I think it was an amuse bouche, just a little something to get your appetite going. Cause it did. The second course was very cool, literally. It was a tuna tartare with nitro-sirachi sauce. The waiters poured the nitrogen frozen sauce over the tuna creating a very cool dry ice effect. It tasted great too, we all wanted the bread to come out so we could sop up the leftovers. Next came course 3. It was a small version of one of the restaurants main meals, Simply Fish. It was halibut with a creamy dijon crab sauce, arugula salad, and heart of palm. I may order this if we go back, because it was amazing (and much cheaper.) We finally got the bread and did sop up the leftovers. Course 4 was a wagu beef filet. It was good, but I prefer my steak less marbley. At this point, I was getting very stuffed. But we still had course 5. It was a trio of desserts, peanut butter lava cake, raspberry napoleon, and something with chocolate, passion fruit, and peanut butter crunch. YUM YUM! I would highly recommend this restaurant and especially for adventurous eaters, the 5 course chef tasting.
After dinner, we checked out the Dolphin. Did you know it as the coolest half and half revolving door? We ran through it like giddy children. Once we were done making fools of ourselves, we took off for Epcot. It was having EMH. We made it just in time for Illuminations. We got on Test Track, tried Soarin', but then realized we were too tired for a 45 minute line. We had big plans the next morning and had to get to bed.
Back at the room, I did a quick animal check. Still nothing. My friends wanted me to call the front desk and ask when the dancing animal show would begin.
Saturday I get up early and check for animals. There was an animal I would describe as an African deer and one vicious African duck. It attacked the CM trying to clean out the pond. I heard the woman yelling at it to let go of her cleaning net.

Once again, my friends suggest I call the front desk to find out about the dancing animal show.
Now is the time we have been waiting for, the Keys to the Kingdom tour. And I'll have to finish that story later.
