Don't they ever?!? I usually log on so I can drool over food porn, but I'll attempt your suggestions. Thanks :goodvibes

I don't know why but the term "food porn" makes me giggle. :rotfl:

I do hope you find an answer to your question. I also hope you have the time of your life!! When is your trip?

The term reminds me of Seinfeld when George tells the woman they should have sex in the kitchen. . .:confused3

We are going the Oct 24-29. This is our second trip, but the first one I am planning. We're meeting up with our best friends in the world for the Food and Wine Festival and for MNSSHP. We are excited! According to TGM, I have 145 more days :hyper:

Sounds like a great trip. Are you getting into the planning? It can be so addictive. I think planning is half the fun of the trip. Now I'm desperately waiting for the Nov./Dec. calanders to be released. I feel like I can't do anything without those calendars.

Yeah--wasn't it beacause the "kitchen is the most socialble room in the house?"

Those calendars are really becoming a pain aren't they? What is Disney getting at?

I'm enjoying planning--working on my Disney notecards right now. But I'm also spending a lot of time on the DIS. How can I plan when I have all of the socialization to do?

And the socialization is a very important part of planning. It helps you get used to the crowd at Disney. :rotfl2: (I'm sure there is logic in there somewhere.:confused3 )

I can here the conversation now:

"Are you on that website again?"

"Of course--I'm trying to get over my phobia of crowds."

After all, aren't there like 150,000 DISers out there? :rotfl2:

I knew you would see the logic in that last post!! I think there are more than 177,000 Disers. That number always amazes me. There are alot of people on here though that have 2 or more identies. I think they do that so they can unleash their evil side and no one is the wiser. :rotfl2:

Hi y'all!

I'm having a frumpy sort of day. The house is a mess, I can't relax in a mess, but I have zero motivation to clean! Part of the mess is due to some remodeling, so I can't do much about that, but looking at stuff all disorganized just makes me anxious....:scared:

I think I'm really looking forward to school getting out, which would seem counter-productive, but my reasoning is that once it's all done for the summer, I can focus more on the house and projects I want to do, rather than planning DS11's work for the week, and keeping up with what's going on at the elementary school for DS8 and DS6. They can sleep in, stay up a little later, the whole day is just more relaxed!

I'm also thinking of quitting my job...!:scared1: It's a scary thought, financially, but DH would really rather have me home, I would really rather be home, and with all the hours he works, it seems crazy that I can't. My dad is doing some Internet-related business stuff and would love my help, but right now I just don't have any time to devote to that. It's something that would eventually pay me some money, but again, right now I have no time to invest. (and yet anothe reason to move to Florida, to be closer to my dad so we can work on these projects together!!).

We have new people moving in across the street from us. These are the 4th people to live there since we moved in just 5 years ago! I'm hoping and praying they're quiet folks. The last couple in there was great, and I'm sad to see them go. As far as I know, the house is being rented. There was a small, home-made "for rent" sign out there recently, as well as a similar "for sale" sign. The rental sign is gone but the sale sign is still up. The house isn't super close to ours but it's all wide open between the two houses, save for one tree in our yard, and sound travels like you wouldn't believe! They can be having a normal conversation on their front steps and you can hear it over here.

Well that's my update for now! Have to go pick up one of the kids from a friend's house soon.

Wow--I'd LOVE to stay at home. Alas, when your spouse is a teacher, and you are working as a teacher (with about 15 other things tacked on to that description) and are on year 6 of a 30 year mortgage, there's nothing else you can do. Seems like you are busy. I'd love to remodel my house, but couldn't live with the mess you are having to live in right now. Good luck with all of that.

Hey LegoMom! Sounds like we are having the same kind of day. I do not have any advice to offer on the job front. But I know you will make the right choice for your family. I'm willing to bet that you already know what you are going to do. :goodvibes

It's like multiple personalities for the internet, eh?

I've never understood the logic in having more than one screen name. . .I'd forget which alter ego I used to say what :rotfl:

So would I.:rotfl2: But there have been times that I have been tempted. Some threads just get to me so much. But I never post in them. (I would have to take Pooh out of my siggy.::yes:: ) :lmao:

I used to let the people on the internet get to me. Maybe it's the antidepressants or maybe it's just something else, but I honestly don't care what they think anymore. If I disagree, I state I disagree and go on. Life's too short to let someone in cyberspace ruin my Pooh-perfect day :goodvibes

I only work part-time, and except for the holiday season, I don't even often work all 5 days per week. So it's not like I'm dropping a full-time, salaried position. I only got this job last fall, so we're used to living without it. We have had one expense come up since then that we have to figure out how to deal with, but I do think we can do it. We live in a modest (at best!) house, don't have a ton of debt, live modestly and within our means, and try to be careful with our money.

My feelings are, I had time to do lots of stuff before we had kids (including a "career" - put in quotes because I never did find a job that I really loved) and I'll have time to pursue that again when they are older. But my time with them now, when they are young, is going by SO fast. I will never regret having to tighten the financial belt a little so that I can be with them more!

Well, it looks like you have made your decision. Congrats and I wish you the best. :goodvibes :goodvibes You are right--the career will be there later. Your family should come first.

Yeah, you're probaby right.... Now I just have to face the mother-in-law!!:rotfl:

Well, I'll ask my ?. On the Sat after we arrive, we have breakfast ressies for CHef Mickey's. How should we get there? Shoud we drive from POR to CR and then after breakfast move our car to the TTC and take the monorail to MK?

How early are your ressies? I generally try to avoid driving to MK. I hate parking there, taking the tram, then having to jump on either the ferry or the monorail. I always try to take the buses because it drops you off and picks you up right in front of the park. I'd probably take the bus to MK, then walk over to the CR. It's not that far from the bus station and cuts out the to and from to the TTC.

Ok, Mean Queen....the little video to the left of your siggie.....TOO funny!!!:rotfl2:

:thumbsup2 This says a lot. Sounds like you made your decision. They do grow up so fast and it makes me sad.

That's a scene from David Cook's Guitar Hero commercial. :rotfl2: The one on the right is David Cook telling his pirate joke over and over again. "What was the pirate movie rated? Arrrrrr (with that arm movement.)"

I understand the desire to stay home. I've been very lucky to work from home so that me being home isn't too hard a financial hit. It pretty much pays for our Disney addiction. :thumbsup2
