I thought I would be missing a whole lot of conversations in the evenings now that I'm on 2nd shift, but you all aren't even around. Where have you been? Details, please. :hyper:

I've been heading to bed by 9pm!! Just plain tired these days. I've been popping in here in the afternoons but it's quiet then, too! I guess I'll just post when I come in and see who else comes to chat.

We have a broker open house tomorrow. I thought that was strictly for area real estate agents to come see a property so they know about it for any future clients, but it turns out it's for their customers who may want to come see a place without a specific appointment time. It differs from a regular, public open-house in that it's only advertised to the agencies, so they are sending their customers over, rather than just anyone seeing an ad for the open house and dropping by. We'll have one of those at some point, too (hopefully when the weather has improved and the snow is gone and I can clean up my yard a bit!!....this is "gross" season - the remaining snow is brown and filthy and there is sand EVERY where).

Gotta get ready for work! Have a great day everyone! :grouphug:

I have dance on Monday nights, so that's why I'm away. I had to rush through my recorded DWTS when I got home, so I didn't have time to DIS. I'll be on tonight, but the AI thread goes fast so I can't keep up if I leave it for too long.

I'm here now being lazy until it's time to take the little one to her gym class.

I'm on 3rd shift. Not by choice and im missing all the "action" everywhere.

I'll trade you 2nd shift for 3rd. :)
I worked graveyard for about six weeks and liked it. At first I felt like I was missing all the action but soon realized there is no action between 11PM and 7AM - at least not in my world  Will you be on 3rd permenantly or is it temporary?

Warmer weather will likely cure that. Hope it's headed your way soon. :thumbsup2

I didn't get a chance to watch DWTS and AI until the weekend. I inentionally avoided the AI thread. It was difficult but I did it.
I'll try to keep up this week so I don't have to go through that again. I'm already behind though - haven't watched DWTS from last night.

I can catch up on AI and DWTS quick since I just skip through all the chatter. But I have to skip the Lost thread each week, because that show is harder to catch up on. I have to find some good kid-free time to watch and that's rare.

DWTS was good. I really hope a woman wins this year. If not, there's something wrong.

Do you work for a Disney resort or a nearby one? I used to work the overnight shift when I produced TV news. I was okay with it when my DH was on the same shift, but hated it when he wasn't. Now that I have kids, I could never do those hours.

I work in manufacturing -- worked graveyard in the shipping department. Good thing you only have to work it another month. Are you moving far away from where you are now?

Howdy!

We are having a "warm" day - it's almost 55 degrees! :cool1:

Kids are outside playing. I have been reading my latest Disney guide book on the front porch in a sunny spot...:goodvibes A while ago I was browsing rental homes in the Ocala area again. WOW! I can't believe what we can get down there. And so many of them have a nice palm tree right out front!

So, anyone else around?!

.

...I spend money!! :rotfl2:

I actually got a great deal on a lot of 25 trading pins! It's a mystery "mixed bag" but I really don't care what they are, as the point is for my kids to trade them. They are from a reputable seller with over 3,000 all-positive feedback, so there's no junk (I've also seen this seller mentioned here on the boards as a good one to buy from).

The next thing I need to get them is pressed penny books (not from eBay!). They loved doing pressed pennies last trip but I still have them in those plastic M&M tubes in my dresser drawer! I think the book will help keep them organized, then they can see what they have.

Now it's time for me to start selling on eBay!!

I didn't order trading pins in time for our trip next week. :scared1: I think DD has a few left to trade, but not enough to keep her busy the whole trip. DH and I like to trade also. I got a great one last trip. A CM pretty much told me which one to get. It was from DCL's Mediterranean trip.

And all homes in Florida have a palm tree, I think it's the law. ;)

I asked my dad a while ago if I am too old to have a tantrum. He said no. The following is my reason for said tantrum:

I swear to you all here on the DIS that I will never, EVER complain about the heat in Florida. A hot day in Florida beats a snowy day anywhere else....:headache:

My boss said today that if I don't want to come to work tomorrow due to driving conditions, that's fine and she'll see me Monday. I may not even get out of bed.

Cue the Disney music!....I need to find my happy place now.

You need to start finding reasons to visit your dad more in the winter. Not to rub it in, ok, well maybe I am, but here's a link to our local forecast.
http://www.weathercenter.com/images/7day.htm

While the heat can be unbearable, and seems to last forever, there's always a/c. Plus, you don't get work cancelled because it's too hot. That only happens with tropical storms/hurricanes.

DS in Texas complains about the weather all the time, how it's too hot, too humid, etc. She spent most of her life in the midwest and has experienced the snow, school/work closings and all that stuff. She's been in Texas four years which is why I'm always surprised to hear her complain it's too hot.

Long story short -- You're on record.
 ;)

Where the h-e-double-hockey-sticks IS everyone?!! :rotfl: It's been TOO quiet this week!:scared:

I am enjoying a day off from work, although truth be told I'd rather BE at work, because that would mean the weather was cooperating. Alas, it is not. I have Live365 cranked on my computer speakers and they are currently playing the old Spaceship Earth ride-through....:goodvibes Puts me in my Happy Place right quick. I NEED to be there today.

Mean Queen: finding a reason to visit my dad is never a problem!! It's always a time thing. If I go away I have to find someone to watch the kids at night (not easy) since DH works 2nd shift. Or he has to take vacation days (I'd rather he saved them for family days!).

Some day, I'll live there....

Ooh!!...now I'm listening to Winnie-the-Pooh! "A Heffalump and woozle, is very confoozle...!"

I understand the desire to save days for family time. I think you will love the new Spaceship Earth. The interactive ending is so fun. I can't wait to go again next week and try something new. They take a picture of you at the beginning of the ride and use it towards the end. So smile pretty or everyone will see you looking silly.

I love how your avatar now matches the song you were listening to. :rotfl:

DO - everyone complains of the heat, but those people just aren't doing a good enough job of avoiding the outdoors. :lmao:

...we officially broke the 100-year snow record here in NH.

The last time there was more than this in one winter, it was in the 1800s!

I guess if we had to have more snow, at least there was "purpose" to it...!

Too bad there isn't some sort of competition going on so you can at least win a prize. ;) That's crazy that you had record snow and we had one of the most mild winters in our history.

Hey you guys, princesskelz got tagged!! I haven't seen her here in a bit, but she posted in a thread called "So, if you could catch the Tag Fairy...". She's got a really neat little princess graphic in there!!

I'm still holding out for a scrolling tag. :thumbsup2
