Absolutely stick to your guns! If they all wanted you in this position so bad, they ought to be willing to pay accordingly. After all you didn't come begging for it!! I hate how some companies try to pull stuff like that. Can you play their game by telling them you're perfectly happy to remain in "X" [your old] position at the lower salary? Good luck...!

.

Yes - When I talked to the PM putting me back in my old job at

the previous rate of salary was his first suggestion. I didn't take the bait,

not wanting to play all my cards at that moment. If he says they can't

give me more $$ I will go back. DH is completely fed up with the situation

and wants me to go back even if they do offer more $$. As the days go by

I'm starting to feel the same way.
:sad2:

So by transferring you, they avoid having to actually have you apply and accept the job thus having you avoid accepting whatever lowball payment they are giving you. Sounds pretty sneaky to me. Will you be staying on second shift from now on?

Pretty much except - I actually applied for and

interviewed for it. Very sneaky! THe PM has pretty much ignored

me since our last meeting, even though he said the situation was on his

"A" list. That was last Thursday! I sent an email last night asking if we

could meet today. How long should I have to wait? I've worked the

job nearly a month at a low rate of pay. :confused3

If you do decide to take the job, I'd make sure to tell them you want your pay to be retroactive to the date you began the job so that you get all the backpay. Is your shop union? We're a right to work state here, so we have almost no union influence, but I always thought most of the North was still union shops.

This will be you soon enough. ;) Any news on the house showing?

Liked the house, not sure if they want to live "this far out" from town (we're three miles from the little town center.... But, whatever!). There are a few houses in or near town that are for sale but they aren't much to look at. Guess it depends on how badly they feel the need to be in the middle of our happenin' little Main Street! :rotfl: (which consists of a laundromat, cafe, library, and country store....we don't even have our own post office). Funny thing is, "this far out" is actually much closer to the next town over, which is bigger and has all the amenities you usually need.

DH has been pricing out the roof job. The worst sticker shock came from the dumpster we'll have to rent for the old shingles! That's going to cost as much as all the new materials....!:scared1: There is just something about forking over $1,500 just to throw something away!! Fortunately he'll be doing much of the work himself, and a contractor friend will be doing some of the more difficult parts for us, but for a real good price.

Oh, I did find out today that our Stimulus Package Incentive "check" will be in our account by mid-May!:cool1: That's our Disney trip!! Unless we move, of course, and then it becomes our ticket outta here to Florida!

There's an unofficial rumor on the un-offic-ial guide site that Free Dining will start being offered early next month! Here's hoping....:lovestruc I've already got ADRs for everything except Hoop-de-doo, since without a dining plan, you have to pay for that up front. If FD comes out it will immediately be applied to my reservation, and my TA will try to get us HDD. If not (since it books so early) I'll be choosing a dinner at Boatwright's and something else. Any of you guys have a suggestion for us?? Just to recap, here's what we have so far:

Crystal Palace
Chef Mickey's
Garden Grill
Sci-Fi
Boma

Time to get ready for work and get the kids up. Have a great day y'all!:goodvibes

I'd definitely do Hoop De Doo if possible, but if not, have you tried Le Cellier? It's our favorite because we're big steak people. My DD8 likes it because of the cool breads. We all fight for the pretzel bread. We haven't done this in a while, but the Coral Reef restaurant is also good. You get to see the fish and divers while you eat. Ohana's is also fun, but a total meat fest. Even my family of carnivores was a bit meated out by the end. Though they do serve veggies, we went overboard on the meats.

You inspired me to start losing weight... that and the skimpy costume I have to wear for my tap recital in June. :scared: But I've only been doing it a week, so my 5'11" frame is only down 4 pounds with about 30 more to go. Being tall has a big advantage, we have more places to hide those extra pounds. :lmao:

 AAWWW. I've never inspired anyone. I checked at the nurses' office today. I'm now down 27 lbs.

Losing this wieght is the only thing that is keeping me going. I work at a high school in life skills. It's actually a fun job; the kids are great. The teacher is an absolute B*tch with a capital B*tch. She yells at the kids, yells at us. Keeps calling me shorty(I'm 5'1'") and she has a sister who is 4'11". That apparently makes making fun of me alright.

I'm sorry you have to work with someone so evil. Especially when you are doing such an important job helping out kids. I'm sure you've inspired many of them too.

My baby turns 2 today! Happy Birthday to my Paige.

We're having her party this Saturday. Dora themed, believe it or not. She picked that over Mickey because Minnie wasn't on the plate. She kept saying "Where mimi go?"

Good afternoon! Where's everyone hiding? I have the day off today and was hoping some of my fellow Tagless and Formerly Tagless would be around to chat. :)

I'm here! But we've been busy cleaning the house for the party tomorrow. It's supposed to be an outside party, but there's a big chance of rain so we're getting ready for a possible inside party too.

My sister who lives in Texas planned to have an outside party for my six year old niece who wanted nothing more than to have a princess castle shaped moon walk for her party. But the weather called for rain and the rental company wouldn't deliver if it was raining so everything was up in the air. My niece was disappointed that she might not get the moon walk and my sister was stressed because she didn't have a plan b party location and didn't want a lot of kids running around in her house. She was so stressed about it which I thought was funny that planning a party for a six year old was stressful all because of rain.

There's few things more stressful than the thought of a large group of rampaging 6 year olds in your house, bored out of their minds and hopped up on cake. :lmao: You just know someone will get hurt and something will be damaged beyond repair.

So true - one of her biggest worries was that the carpet would get ruined. Needless to say, she won't be planning anymore backyard parties.[/FONT]

I'm here! It's been so quiet here the last couple of days that I just haven't come by too much.

I'll try to check in regularly today!!

Hi Lego Mom - glad you could stop in. What are you up to today? How's the weather?

Not too much going on here today. I didn't work, either, so I got my grocery shopping done and got the goodies for the kids for Sunday! I haven't been doing much this afternoon. My DH is off for three days (!) and he's going out for pizza shortly. I usually make it on Fridays but just didn't feel like it tonight!! :upsidedow

Weather is cold and very windy. Stuff is melting slowly but we should be about 10 degrees warmer than this (in the mid-upper 40s, at least).

Tomorrow I will be doing some house cleaning for Sunday's dinner (in-laws are coming up) and then on Wednesday next week we are scheduled to have a broker open house here.

Are you up to anything special tonight?
