I am officially a Southerner: this morning it was 58 and rainy when I got up, and I felt COLD!! Brrr! Now it's nice out...still overcast but we've had the windows open today with no a/c running. First time since coming here! We've had a very productive day outside doing various projects. Right now DH and DS12 are out with the Mule, using the winch to try to haul this old lawn tractor out of a ditch! Looks like it got swept down into a wash in some past heavy rainstorm. We find all manner of goodies out here, don't we?!

Smileybug, I am so, so sorry about your business/computer problems....:hug::hug: Hang in there, it can only get better from here.

Hi DO!....How's your day going?:goodvibes

.

Thanks DO. :goodvibes That made me smile.

LegoMom....you are right. It will get better. Because its gonna be run the way I want it run. :thumbsup2 :rotfl:You and your new treasures. It just sounds like ya'll are having so much fun. I want a mule. I think they are so cute. I want a fancy chicken too. I would name her Henny. :rotfl:A big ole turkey would be fun. I'm sure it would attach itself to my hubby.:laughing::laughing: And I want to officially give you a big ole Southern Welcome.......Howdy ya'll. I hope you can sit a spell and have a glass of sweet iced tea. :goodvibes

Just to clarify, our "Mule" is a 4-wheeler....not a cute equine.:sad2: Although we do have four donkeys on property! But they're not much help pulling stuff out of ditches.:rotfl: We actually may be taking the two males over here at our place. The large one gets "friendly" with all the others on a fairly regular basis, and when camp is in session, well....let's just say it's more than people bargained for! And once we have horses, they can all keep each other company.

My DS12 is in mechanical HEAVEN! They got the mower out and it is now down under the small pavillion by our barn. He's going to take it apart down to the chassis and wants to make that into a go-kart!! How cool is that?!

We were looking over the chicken coop this morning and planning out what we need to do to get it ready for chickens. I want to start with four to six layers and see how that goes. I'd love to have some meat birds, but unless DH is willing to "process" them, I'm out! We were trying to figure out if we should get a guard animal for them (although the donkeys will probably do the job!) and one option we considered was geese. Apparently they will wake the dead if an intruder approaches!

And thanks for the warm southern welcome! For the record, I love sweet tea!!:thumbsup2

Well.......:rotfl2::rotfl::lmao:Next time say what you mean girl. :lmao:A mule is a mule.....know what I mean? :rotfl2:

If you get geese, you might end up wishing you were dead.
Come on over....I have fresh sweet tea. Just made it a couple of hours ago. :goodvibes

I did!...I capitalized it and everything!....it's a Kawasaki Mule!!....;)

Yeah, I've heard all the "cons" to having geese. I think I'll try the donkeys first.

.

Smiley, I'm so sorry. What a terrible betrayal. That is awful and I hope things get better soon. What a horrible thing for that woman to put you through.

Not sure what sweet tea is. Is it cold tea with sugar added which we call ice tea? Sorry if I sound stupid. It's not a term we use up here.

SadieDog, sweet tea is just sweetened iced tea. I think that down here in the heat, it's just assumed that your tea is iced, so it's not specified as "iced!" But there are usually the two options of sweet or unsweet. Most true-blood Southerners drink sweet tea. It's the new Mint Julep.
:rotfl:

Thank you SadieDog. This has certainly been an eye opening experience. But I guess that I am proof positive that you can teach an old dog new tricks. :rotfl:

LegoMom explained it correctly. Down here in the south sweet tea is in its own food group. :thumbsup2

:rotfl:We have 4-wheelers but I don't call them mules. I call them 4 wheelers. Now when you say "donkeys" are you refering to the 4 legged kind? Or do these particular donkeys have 4 wheels too? :confused3 :rotfl2:

Look, lady, you're really making this difficult for me, y'know?!....it's called a MULE!....I didn't name it!! Kawasaki did!!! It's a "4-wheeler" in that it's 4WD, but it's a work vehicle, not a 4-wheeler that you go muddin' with...so I call it a Mule - which it IS - to differentiate between them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Get it?????!
:lmao::rotfl2:

And let's leave the donkeys out of this, shall we? :upsidedow
.

Smileybug, since you seem to be all about cute and fuzzy today, I thought I'd toss this in for you (two of our camp donkeys!)....

They are adorable!!! Now, you are sure that they are donkeys and not mules.......correct? :rotfl2::lmao:

Just making sure.

I'm off for the night. All dreams should be sweet. Tomorrow is Friday!!

Legomom--Welcome to the life of a Southerner.

Smileybug--I'm so sorry about what happened with the computer./secretary/business. That is just awful!

Sadiedog--we call it sweet tea because very few people drink hot tea in the South. And I mean very few. Can you imagine hot tea in 100 degree weather? YUCK!

It's 9:53 pm--I'm watching the SC Gamecocks on TV, just finished writing the draft copy of an IEP, and am about to read for a while before I go to bed.

Oh, and Legomom--I first thought you were talking about an animal mule, too. And if you get geese, please let me come videotape when they attack you. . . So we can all say, "We told you so,", lol.

Good morning.

Those donkeys sure are cute.

UGH My son missed the bus. Now I need to hurry.

Good morning all! Happy FRIDAY!!

SadieDog, sorry about your son!....lousy way to start the day, huh?! Hope you'll check back in later!

Typical Friday for me here....grocery shopping this afternoon, and I'll probably stop at the library for a few things. We have to pressure-wash our house today - there's a big group coming to camp this weekend and they're volunteering a couple of hours of work with whatever's needed. Since they can't use power tools, the camp director is sending a bunch of them over here to paint our house!:thumbsup2

We've had the neighbor puppy hanging around here again. He usually comes and goes, but it's been more here than gone. He's lost weight again so I'm feeding him 2 cups twice a day (to the horror of my dog!). He's such a sweet dog and I wish I could somehow "claim" him. I still can't understand why the other dog that these people "own" is in good shape, and the puppy is so thin (when he gets regular meals he fattens up, so it's not like he has something else wrong).:sad2:

Hey ya'll. :goodvibes

SadieDog.....you could have borrowed a donkey from LegoMom and sent your DS to school on that. I promise that LegoMom does know the difference between Mules, mules and donkeys. :rotfl2:

creativeamanda....I drink hot sweet tea. :) I love to heat up the cold stuff and add cream to it. :goodvibes

LegoMom.....After your painters are through at your house, could you send them here? We have to do some cleaning and touch up stuff our selves.
