Tackiest thing ever seen at a Disney Buffet

My DH and I were eating at an "Old Country Buffet" in Omaha, having a nice dinner when we heard an older woman start yelling at the server cutting the ham - She wanted to know why there wasn't a better piece for her. And I mean this lady was SCREAMING! (The whole restaurant could hear her fine)The server got the manager and she screamed at him and then all of a sudden she got in his face and SLAPPED HIM! I saw the whole thing! He told her she needed to calm down and she needed to leave the restaurant immediately. He was a lot calmer than I would have been! Her family got her out after she yelled a little more! I guess she takes her ham slices seriously!

We go to a local chinese buffet frequently (drinks are included ;) )

What, no powdered drink mix? No lemon wedges. The profit margin here must be way up. :lmao: As I said earlier, you really know how to stir it up. :cool2:

I'm fairly new, what does this mean? TIA.

"Subscribing" just means I'd like to read the thread without having to hunt for it later. (I don't have any stories to add.)

At one time I thought I would receive an email notifying me that someone had posted to a thread that I was subscribing too, that is what I thought you meant.

We were at a local buffet recently and were seated near the restroom area. For a good 10-15 minutes we could hear screaming from two little girls. Apparently they were playing around and patrons were coming in and out of the ladies room looking stunned as there seemed to be no parents around. A while later the girls went up to the drink dipsenser and started playing with the ICEE machine and had made a disgusting mess. Then one of them opened wide while the other girl pressed the button on the ICEE machine so it would pour into her mouth. Yuck! Again, no parents to be found. I must've had a horrified look on my face because my son turned around to look at what I was gaping at and then said, " Oh no." He knows how I feel about unattended children at restaurants. I politely went up to them asked them to go find their parents and ask for help. Well, it seems the parents were within viewing distance of their kids because the father immediately came up and asked what the problem was. I pointed to the mess the girls had made, and although maybe I shouldn't have, I suggested that he may want to monitor the activities of his children a bit more. To that he replied that since I don't work there I shouldn't say anything. Again, maybe I was wrong but I found the behaviour disgusting and and very unappetizing.
Maybe just go up to the manager--hoping there's no next time! :crazy2:
Actually, the parents should have been banned for life from public dining venues! Kiddies restaurant or not, the lack of supervision is, in this case, wicked unsanitary for everyone!
did anyone see the article re: the young girl's science project: she tested toilet water & ice cubes from a number of fast food spots & the toilet bowl water came out more sanitary! YIKES! :scared:

T We can afford napkins. Yet my napkin holder at home is full of napkins that say Dunkin Donuts. I try to get him not to do this but his mother trained him well.

that's the funniest thing I've read all day. :)

and as far as the people with the big purses that fill up on the food, thank you. we have a BBQ restaurant that on all-you-can-eat rib nights bring you two ribs at a time because of this. :crazy2:

You know...the kids sticking their fingers in/touching individual desserts isn't all bad...

I was "forced" to take two extra desserts back to the table at the Epcot Mother's Day Brunch last year. Sigh...they didn't go to waste. What we do for our kids...

But seriously, to contribute: My best friend and I go to a local pizza/salad buffet for lunch ever few weeks or so. Great pizza, good salad bar, very cheap. There are always characters there, but a few times ago we were sitting there and a family came in. They had a son - probably about 10 years old who bypassed the whole "sit at the table, order drinks, head to the buffet" part and walked straight to the buffet. They were low on pizza, so he came back with a plate full of all 8 or so remaining pieces of cheese bread, half a slice already eaten. A bit later the pizza came out and the child FLEW over, STILL CHEWING to grab as much as he could. He continued to do this as long as we were there. Plate full of pizza, run up when new pizza came out, still chewing. Grab piece and eat on way back to table. Chewing, chewing, chewing...

Hungry kid. :confused3

So ... does that make this a CHARACTER buffet? (Woo. I crack myself up.)

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

That sounds just like my father, only all his napkins say "Arby's".

DW hates the fact I will confront people over rude stuff they do. Man, she would just cringe at what I might do or say to some of the folks in these threads. pirate:

This family sat down and simply began to pick the food off of the dirty plates and eat it. I was watching in amazement. I know that many cultures converge at WDW so I'm assuming that they simply were out of the their element and had no understanding of the buffet set up. But it was strange to think that they would consume already eaten pastries and bacon.
I wish I saw a good show like this. I would be crackin' up over that for a long time!

At Red Lobster, we encountered a women with a large purse. She ordered the all-you-can eat shrimp and stuffed zip-lock bags with the shrimp.

Maybe she is on a fixed income.

I picture someone like this going home and freezing it so she can make about a dozen meals out of it. :hyper:

I haven't patented this yet, but I think there is a big demand for: "The Tupperware Purse". If anyone would like to order one, you will be put on my list. I know, I know, it has to be cheap enough for the people who would use it. :smooth:
