My daughter persuaded me to watch this new series of Dr Who with her (aparantly they play it at school), and I have to say , I thought it was absolutely excellent. Ive seen the first 2 episodes, along with the Christmas Special, which I was less impressed with (I dont like Cathrine Tate), and I am now a convert. I havent actualy watched Dr Who since the Tom Baker days....the program got ruined by the likes of Peter Davidson and Sylvester McCoy in my eyes....so Ive missed out on the previous series and the one before....Im going to try and get them on DVD.
All credit to the BBC, theyve done a good job.

Who is 'your' doctor everyone? Mine has to be Jon Pertwee (great pic by the way!). Am I showing my age?

I remember the very first episode and I thought Hartnell, Troughton and Pertwee were all good, did not really see much then until Eccleston who was great and Tennant is even better, the last two seasons and this one so far have been excellent and Freema Agyeman is.......wow!

The Doctor this weekend is in Gridlock on New Earth.
Martha is taken at gunpoint.
Traffic is all stopped.
The Doctor has to go down to find whos stopping the traffic.

We know Face of Boe is around and will tell the Doctor a secret.

What monster is below? Your views?
(From Radio times they hint there is something else as The Mill FX say 'they do not wish to give the game away'

What does Boe tell the Doctor

On the monsters I have read from Cybermen to the CatNurses, and on the secret 'you are not alone' 'You have a brother' 'Jack is your Son'

Ace, think of it like bombs. You really love the next best thing and then something that is even better comes along and you are all over the other thing you had.. Everyone loves the latest Model! We'll probably forget about DT when the next one comes along, unless of course it ends up with another Colin Baker!!!

Besides, he quit in one series so obviously wasn't THAT chuffed to do it!

Maybe loyalty DT is better but CE had gone before he started and DW fans like loyalty to the role, Tom Baker is often high as he was the longest serving Doc.

DT is like Peter Davidson doing other work at the same time to try to avoid typecasting.

I read up that it's the "Pharmasists" after the main villian for this week. Judging by the fact that their was a vieled lady in the trailer, could be the Cat Nurses again!

For all we know the Good cat that gives the Doctor a Lift might be bad after all? Or maybe Cassandra is back and has been living from body to body for the time between her party and the year 5 billion? Maybe the Robot Spiders have found a new master? Maybe Cassandra and the sisters are working together?? Who knows?!

Boe's Secret? How about "Luke I am your father"...

I kept thinking for most of this week, what if the Face's secret was that he just leans over in his big bowl and then rips a huge fart in the tank, bubbles and all...

Haven't a clue, but could be "We are both not alone in the universe". Remember waaaaaaay back to episode one. On the TV station in the year 200,000 the face was supposed to be PREGANT with Boekind. He must have a family, and he'll probably say that the Doctor isn't alone as well.

All good ideas..

But on that topic how about favorite companions?

Mine would be Rose, she's the only one I've seen so far

A Companion is normally another person that travels with the Doctor and helps out. They aren't normally a love interest, but it normally ends with either Puppy Love or just a close friendship.

It's normally a human, and in this series there is one companion that says with the Doctor Throughout and we have lots of people come and go. For example, last series Rose's boyfriend Mickey came with the gang for a bit.

Normally the Doctor would keep his hands WELL off the assistant in the old Doctor Who Episodes. Take Peter Davision (Doctor Number 5). He had 3 assistants with him at one point, two girls and one boy. He could only have his arm around the boy for fear of something else. Now in this day and age, anything is possible in the TARDIS!

That reminds me, have you met Captain Jack Yet???

Could be Time Lord ish since he has Time and Space facilities built in, remember first ep last series? Then how do you explian how big he got? Perhaps he is a robot and the Master is pretending to be him!

Cybers, could be the Master's plan to take over the world in the finale?

I guess we will find out later on about that.

You never know where she will turn up. Perhaps she will turn up on an earth based sitcom where the father is a grumpy dentist and she plays a snarky wife who just tries winding him up all the time...Or Am I thinking of something else??

It all started to help us the viewers understan whats going on, the BBC wanted to inform the viewers quickly, so the Assistants are there to ask,

Whats happening Doctor,
What are you doing.
Where are we
Who are the time lords,
Why is it bigger on the inside.
Why does every monster choose Christmas day to destroy London.
Why does your voice sound if you come from the North/ Scotland.

Recently it has also expanded to the Love interest as well.
