T.T.S's Doctor Who Series 3 Thread! Hope you had Fun! See you next Christmas!

Inspired by a thread on another board I'm on:

Best looking Doctor and Companion

For some reason Rose seems to be the running favorite

that episode was good but not as good as i thought it would be.

I've looked ahead on Sky and it says the episode is starting at 6:35pm though that might change.

some references to Futurama in that episode, mainly since they headed to New New York (which is actually new new new new new new new new new new new new new new new New York) and then the cat-man being called Brannigan could be a reference to the Futurama character Zap Brannigan... (i look up things on wikipedia too much)

Yes funny, BBC website 6.35pm, Radio Times 6.50pm, seems Joesph times are different, Maybe cat and mouse with ITV.

Well its just NEW YORK next week.

Well, as a Liverpool supporter, I hope that's the first and last time I ever have to support Man Utd!!!!

Thoughts on this week's episode in no particular order:

Hmm, thought this was a great story idea with good potential, but I didn't find it as gripping as the first two.

Why did no one in New York have an American accent?! (Thanks to my DH for spotting this). Is there no one in Britain who can do one?!

Thought the face of Boe was a bit of an anticlimax, but all in all, I guess that is because we were all pretty sure what he was going to say. I am very pleased that they didn't go with Jack is your son/ the Master is your father, that would have been a bit silly.

What happened to the Macra after the roof was taken off the motorway?

General thoughts:

As the Master is a renegade time lord like the Doctor, wouldn't the Doctor at least suspect the possibility that he is still out there somewhere?

No prizes for guessing that my favourite assistant is Leela, and she was probably the best looking too. Hang on a minute, that sounds a bit like I am jumping on the LGBT band wagon so I'll pick Cap'n Jack Harkness as the best looking :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Leela

Well I have only just caught up with last nights episode as I missed it last night, and I have to say I loved it, I had tears running down my eyes with them all when The Old Rugged Cross was sung and was glued from start to finish, brilliant episode.:thumbsup2

By the way Matt and Andrew, Vicki and I have been to Torchwood this afternoon, well not actually Torchwood but the closest we could get, the water tower down the bay, you know what I jumped up and down on the stone that takes them down and nothing....why didnt it take me down under to Torchwood I wonder;)

Four answers

NEWNEWNEW NEW YORK People there are from all over earth, but not Battersea dogs home, not just from old New York, thats why they do not have USA accents.

I have read so many suggestions but this one is the most credible.Re the MASTER,

The Doc in the 1999 TVmovie, had the Master sucked into the vortex of the Tardis after The Master tried to steal his remaining lives.

Now the Doctor presumes he is dead, he saw the Master 'die'.

After that there was the time war with the Daleks and the Doctor was the only one that survived. Hence being off screen six more years!!

But The Master has still been in the Tardis, (protected) and when Rose opened up the Tardis at the end of the series one, to save the Doctor from the Daleks and to return to him (Bad Wolf), The Master was able to escape, and I presume become Mr Saxon.

What happened to the Macra after the roof was taken off the motorway? The Doctor made a large crab salad.

Torchwood sounds great. Jacks not there currently, he is going back to the tardis, but reports say he is with the face of Lloyd-Webber, looking for a colourful coat!

I wasn't over impressed with the episode. I have read the novelisation of the original Macra Terror and the main similarity was the claws and the gas. Too many unanswered questions of how they got there and what happened to them. Pretty poor explanation of how the upper world died off having survived the cats best efforts previously! Also agree that Boe was a bit of an anti-climax.

Let's see what happens next!

Theory: We haven't had any Mr Saxon References in the past two episodes (Excluding "You are Not Alone") because the Mr Saxon Campaigan is only running in the present day, where as Torchwood was set up ages ago, making it very easy for them to put the reference throughout time, and of course, we know what happened with "Bad Wolf".

As the time travellers get closer to the present day, the probability of them encountering "Mr Saxon", should go up. Not sure they have to get to get a reference, but keep your ears peeled for New York. :thumbsup2

Totally Agree with you, but like that Emporer Dalek said, they get references from a lot of stuff... It keeps the youth interested, although at the expense of making old episodes totally unwatchable by people in 30 years time.

Where were the Star Wars references we were supposed to get, Emporer Dalek? :confused3

Haven't the foggest! They could have three heads on them, all I care is that they are a good compainion!

However, since most of the people who played those characters have aged considerably (Or are dead), going to have to say Present Doctor and Rose. :thumbsup2

Yes funny, BBC website 6.35pm, Radio Times 6.50pm, seems Joesph times are different, Maybe cat and mouse with ITV.

The Beeb has a thing with ITV in that they want to beat all their shows... Let's face it, Doctor Who will win, and what happens next is up to them. I personally watch Doctor Who Confidental after Doctor Who. :thumbsup2

I vote for Adric or Harry! ( only joking) Sarah-Jane

:lmao:

Leela

Agreed Leela. :thumbsup2

I think that was due to the fact we knew most about it anyway, blame me and Emporer Dalek I say!

Guessing that in the far future everyone is multicultural. :thumbsup2 Perhaps it's just a translation of the american accent?

Also Agreed. :thumbsup2

I assume they died due to lack of exhusts. I think them appearing was limited really. I mean, if the point of the motorway was to save them, why close the fast lane leaving them open to Macra attack? Or is that to make sure they don't leave?

If I ever go to Cardiff, I am SO doing that. :thumbsup2 You know I always had dreams that we could set up a DIS meet in Cardiff for the Doctor Who Exhibition there. But, at the moment I am only a youngin' so my chances if it happening are slim to none.

Oh well, we can dream can't we?

Agreed with you Ace. :thumbsup2 Then again, without their human research lab to run off, they couldn't research a cure for the virus, that and the fact most are in jail now!

yeah i just like pointing them out :p

like in this week's episode, they're putting their own version of the sewer gators in (it's probably the daleks but i think there's a chance it might be those pig creatures) and in torchwood they mentioned there were creatures living in the sewers under 1930s New York so they could be linked...

and on the subject of companions, i found this picture on deviantart that made me laugh http://www.deviantart.com/deviation...ho&qh=boost:popular+age_sigma:24h+age_scale:5 (click on the picture to make it bigger)

As said by Pokemon, the Mr Saxon link is running in the present day, you will see more of it when the Doctor and Martha return to the present day.

The paymaster of the Proffesor who regenerates, Mark Gattis, is one and the same.from my episode guide, 3.6 (The Lazarus Experiment
Mark Gattis as scientists experiment ruined, Modern day Earth, meet up Marths familiy again.(hypersonic sound wave manipulator) and a villain named Lady Thaw played by Thelma Barlow written by Stephen Greenhorn, directed by Richard Clarke –A trap is starting to be woven now for the Doctor and his friend(s)..)

The link is already coming through, but not the same word this time, more a trap or trail the connection is the Time lords.

1/ Vote Saxon.
2/ The Queen at the end knows the Doctor.
3/ You are not alone.
4/ I think Dalek-sec, will say something, he (sec)will become human.
5/ etc,

The picture on the Radio times cover and inside is so great I had read about it before and saw the small picture yesterday, posted above, but the Dalek-Sec OFFSPRING on the head of a human, well wow, have to wait to the end of Saturdays episode to see it.

Seems everyone wants to be human, the Doctor becomes human soon.

We are promised more monsters the one in 3.6 The Lazarus Experiment episode with Mark Gattis is promised to surpass the Warewolf of last year.

DALEK-SEC offspring as you have never seen a Dalek before.
