My 180 window opened today. If I call T-Rex directly for a reservation, do they honor the 180+10? RIght now, I have a adv for the day we arrive (Dec 27)but I know how hectic it will be checking in and I really wanted it to be a special dinner for our son (he LOVES dinosaurs) without feeling the rush of check-in day. As for Jan 2 when we wanted to go, there was no availability online (surprise, surprise).

I don't think they do the 180 plus when you call directly, however they should have plenty of availability for whichever day/time you prefer. Disney does not have access to all their reservation slots and it will appear that they are booked solid when they really aren't.

When you call them directly, you are entirely outside the Disney reservation system, and they don't do that plus-10 thing. Then again I really don't know exactly when T-Rex starts making reservations by itself. If it's 180, then if you're calling them directly you have to call at 180. I think it's pretty certain that T-Rex will not sell out completely at 180 for direct reservations (although they might through Disney, as only a small percentage of their tables are available for booking through Disney.)

Let me ask a new question. Is it possible that I can't get anything online because it isn't exactly 180 days? I was able to make a reservation online for the day we arrive (Dec 27) but we really want Jan 2. I know the day we arrive will be so hectic. There were a few other times that it offered me and this was for 2 days after Christmas. SO for there to be no availability on Jan 2 seems odd at this point. I guess I will just keep trying and if nothing changes, I guess I will be calling in a few days at the Jan 2 180-mark.

You probably don't need to make a T-REX reservation that early. We went last summer and I called directly to make our ADR. I only called 2 weeks ahead of time and had no problem getting in. They were taking plenty of walk ups while we were there.

Actually, we are going again on August 27 and I still haven't called. I will probably wait until August to make the call.

By the way, if anyone uses Discover, you can get a Rainforest Cafe gift card as your cashback bonus. It can be used in any Landry's restaurant including T-Rex.

I took my son for his 11th birthday, and he LOVED it. On reservations, I did make them through Disney, although when making them the cast member did mention that you could call direct.

Also, if you DO make a reservation, make sure you talk to the people at the kiosk at the front of the restaurant. The huge line you'll see is for walk ups waiting for tables, and not for people with reservations. Just walk on by everyone and talk to the cast mambers directly.

I figured it out! I don't think I can make the reservation because it is for after the 1st of the year. I can punch in all different times (even on NYE) and get a table online but the second I do Jan 1...on, it says that there are no tables available. So I guess I will just be patient and hopefully we will still be able to get in on Jan 2. I guess I am just paranoid since we are going during the absolute busiest week of the year :) I don't care about the crowds, we have been lots of times during the same week, but I want my adr's, lol! :)

What is the number to call directly? I am wanting a January 1st ADR if possible!

T-Rex told me they do exactly 6 months out. Not in days and not 180+10. I couldn't get the time we wanted doing it through Disney 180+10...but I had endless options calling T-Rex directly.

I called the restaurant directly 2 wks before the day we are going to be there and I was told they take reservations up to 3 months in advance. So when he asked what day and time I gave him a 2hr window to look for availability and he told me I had my choice of times. We'll be there in a week and I was really worried about calling so late. But thanks to the Dis boards and the great tip about direct calling it all worked out.
