Hi All. I, my DH, DD 12, and DD 3 will be joining you on the Thanksgiving Cruise. This is our second cruise as we did the 7-night western Caribbean a couple years ago. My DD 12 is afraid she won’t make any friends so hoping to calm her fears before the cruise.

Hey!

We just booked today. We'll also be on our 5th cruise. I noticed only a brief mention about a FE's. Is anyone interested?

We're all old here! Me - Lori 42, DH 45, DS's 20, 18, 17 & DD 15.

Nothing booked yet, I usually have many months to plan, so as an OCP, I'm a little stressed to have all the "little stuff" done so quickly. I know it should be old hat, but you throw in life, a business, and teenagers, and I already feel like I'm falling behind.

BUT....we're really excited to go!

Hi everyone and welcome. It's been a busy week. One more week to this summer semester and then I can focus on work and planning this vacation, oh and of course the family. Why did I wait so long to get my degree.

Anyway, If anyone knows how to coordinate a fish extender for this trip, please do. I am not that computer literate.

My DD who will be 11 on the trip is really excited to meet new friends and chat with other kids going too. Maybe we can get them their own kids thread? Just an idea.

I plan to order double lobster dinners on Thanksgiving like I did in '08. It was so yummy! Save a few mojitos for me.

Is lobster an option on Thanksgiving Day? I'm really excited then....not only do I NOT have to cook, but I can eat a ton of lobster!

Has anyone had the lobster ravioli? We tried it in January and it was so good. I can't wait for that and Creme Brulee.

I don't mind spear heading the FE list if nobody else wants to. We can just start our list here. It doesn't look like there will be that many of us.

Mean Queen - I promist to share the mojito's if you share the lobster... Just booked the rooms this morning... Radisson.. Looked godd and got it for $108 per room.

Lori, I think you might be calling me old? HA!!! For us, its me (43), DH46, DD11, and DFIL 76.... We should have lots of fun!!! Last cruise, I was in bed so early... from all the activities of the day, this time I plan to stay up and enjoy some of the night life. But not too late... I turn into a pumpkin @ midnight! HA!

Please, if you would arrange the fish extender.. that would be great! We are in!! Thank you in advance for your generous effort.

Okay, I'll start the list. We'll do it here and a Google Docx. and I'll post the link. Do we want names or just DS, DD, etc? Weigh in... Everyone who wants to participate, give me your info, and PM me your email address and I'll send you the link to the off-site list. If everyone wants, this list can be generic, and put names and ages on the other list.

I have this list off-site, so as cabin #'s are assigned, PM me and I'll add them to a "private" list. PM me anytime, and I'll send you the link and you can check back to the list anytime.


I took the names off because if we post the cruise magnets, I don't want names to be able to be put together with our first names. PM me and we'll just keep the list off-site, that way last names on our cruise magnets posted won't matter.


I was going to update this, but then figured, what was the point with the off-site list.

The cabin count total is - 8 as of 9/1/11

Just found out we are joining you! DH was surprising me with this as a 40th birthday present but DCL beat him to it by sending the cruise information to our house in my name, even though he told them to not send anything to our house and had the reservations in his name. This will be our 8th Disney cruise. We did the Thanksgiving one in 2009 and loved it. We had booked last year but moved that to the Dream this past March for Spring Break. Thanksgiving on the cruise is amazing. I had two lobsters for my Turkey day dinner! I am really looking forward to doing it again. Especially since we haven't done this itinerary yet. There is at least one other family joining us.

Was your DH bummed that the surprise was ruined? That is pretty cool that he booked it with you in mind though! Major love points for him!

Thanks for taking on the FE exchange. I did it on one part of our March B2B but had no desire to do it again so soon.

And as long as Thursday is still lobster day, we will have it on Thanksgiving. I had 2 lobsters but stopped so I could also have the lava cake for dessert. I'll just grab a turkey sandwich from Goofy's for lunch.

He was very bummed. Now he's planning something for my actual birthday and is being very careful to not let that get ruined.

I'm very excited! We book on the 6th, so we plan to be up at midnight tomorrow to make sure we get Palo's brunch.

On the dream, we did get to make a mojito during the mixology class. If there is one on board the Magic, I am signing up for it. I liked that class better than any of the tastings. I will probably sign up for just about all the tastings, except for beer and wine. I am more of a fruity drink kind of girl.

Good luck to you on the Selena Gomez concert. I took DD a few years ago to see Demi Lovato and the screeching of the crowd was pretty loud. I'd recommend getting your own mojito at the concert.

Just booked Palo's brunch, dinner, and high tea plus a spa treatment! We considered a family cabana but that was a bit too pricey with a group of 9. But that doesn't seem to be a problem for others, only 2 family ones were left.

Shay... then I will definitely see you in the mixology glass. Mojioto's are my favorite, although I do like my beer and wine, too! Guess you could say I like wet. HA!!! But I am a light weight soooo really can't drink in quantity. Glad you got Palo for everything. I have to wait until the 21st to book. I hope I get it... I will be pretty disappointed if I can't. I can't afford the cabana so no worries there.

Selena put on a great show last night. My DD thought she was in heaven! And since this was her birthday present, I had to splurge for the shirt. Get this... $40!!! Yikes!! My goodness, I remember shirts being $20. The screaming was loud... thought I was going to loose my hearing.

Does anyone know where I might see some updated navigators.. I have all of mine from the 2009 cruise, but they are probably outdated. I also have the Thanksgiving menu from then. The servers gave it to me. Do you guys think it has changed?

I forgot that I got my Thanksgiving menu and had it signed by our servers from Thanksgiving 08. I hope the menu didn't change, that was one of my favorite menus on any of the cruises. Since the Magic is in Europe right now, I doubt there will be any recent Navigators that would pertain to us.

Glad your DD had fun at Selena. My DD turns 12 this week and we bought her a whole bedroom set from Ikea. We have spent most of today putting together a dresser, desk and bed. But halfway through the bed we realize we are missing a box of stuff. Ikea tells us that if they can't find that box in the warehouse, we have to undo the bed we have done and send it back to get a whole new bed. DH said no way is he undoing that bed. So this should be interesting.

I hope everyone has a good weekend. I just finished doing 2 batches of B & B pickles and a batch of dill. I'm sitting on my butt tomorrow, hopefully to read a book or catch up with my DVR.

It must be getting closer to cruise time, DH has requested we make Konk Koolers at home. When we start getting excited about a cruise, that's his way of preparing... drinking. I told him since I'm doing weight watchers there will be no 1,700 calorie drinks in our house that I want, but can't have. Though I do plan to throw most diet stuff out the window on the cruise. I think I'll get some stuff for Mojito fixings from our Dream mixology class instead, that tends to be "point" friendly for dieters. And it goes very well by the pool, where I plan to spend most of my day today.

Hi all! We still have a few more weeks before we can book Palos, excursions, etc. -- we are only silver members! But I am really looking forward to this 7 night cruise! AND so excited we are going to have an FE, so THANK YOU for taking this on!!! I will go back to find the link and send my info... on the last cruise I did, a 5 night on the Dream, one of the DISers did a FB page for everyone going.... it was kinda cool, people felt more friendly to chat that way on FB, and I think she posted a thread about her experience setting up the FB group... you don't have to "friend" everyone, just add people to the group, so it is specifically about the cruise, and that was really nice. Regardless, I can't wait!!! November will be here before we know it!
