Switching a partial Cruise ressie to points?

How does it work to switch a partial cruise ressie to points. Let's say I book the CA western 7 day now, I book 2 rooms on a July cruise across the hall from each other and I pay my deposit. At my 11 mo window, I want to pay for part of my cruise with points. Do I keep the same reservation, the same room and the same rate from my original booking? How does that work?

You can't do that directly. What you could do is cancel a cabin for cash and rebook for points. I've heard two people say they were able to do this and get the same cabin they had previously. There's no reason you can't have one cabin cash and the other points. You'd likely be better of renting out your points and just paying cash but it's your call.
