Good morning.

Last night, we switched our ressie for December from Poly Club to Sugar Loaf. I know nothing about Grand Floridian Club. I love Poly, but with the expected beach construction coming up, that was a deal breaker for us. What can you experts out there tell me about GF Club level? Do they have wine at night? I requested an upper level marina view room. Thoughts?

Thanks in advance!

i can only help somewhat, as i have stayed at GF CL in the main building, but not SL. my understanding is that the food and drink offerings are identical at SL and the main building. I have also stayed at poly CL.

in my opinion, the food and drink at GF CL are a notch above (actually, several notches above) poly CL. they have wine and beer and cordials in the evening. i loved poly CL but i felt like there was never enough food for everyone. it was the complete opposite at GF- they replenished constantly. the CL lounge staff were wonderful. their snacks during the day were also more robust than what the poly offered. and they serve tea and scones around 2- it is an amazing experience.

there is an entire GF thread with a great section about CL- check it out for more info.

I agree with the PP. We've done both and found the food offerings at the Grand (We were in Sugarloaf.) were better than the Poly although the Polynesian is still my overall favorite-minus any construction mess!

Is there beach construction coming up at the Poly? I thought that nothing was starting until January??

There has been some chatter of beach construction starting in September possibly. Of course, nothing is official until it happens, but we didn't want to risk it. The beach was important to me.

While the food offerings may be better, I'm not a fan of Sugar Loaf. I much prefer RPC. I've stayed at most of Disney's CLs and Sugar Loaf is not a favorite of mine.

The food/wine offerings are the same but the atmosphere is very different.

We moved from Poly CL to GF as well. GF CL wasn't available for our dates, but I'm going to keep checking. Hopefully we will get it before we go in November.

Possible construction scares me, the beach is too important to lose and noise mid day would be a disaster with small children needing naps.

We have stayed in both, but like the Poly CL better than Sugar Loaf. Morning offerings were a little better at the GF, but not much different in the evening. I would love to try RPC some day, but while SL was nice, Hawaii is my favorite.

We've never stayed Poly CL (we are trying it in December), but have stayed GF SL and like some of the other posters, I didn't care for it. The food offerings are great as they are the same as RPC, but the lounge is located right in the lobby of the SL building and is small with not enough seating (IMO) for the amount of people that stay there. Keep in mind that this is only my opinion and while I'm glad I did get to try SL, I wouldn't book it again. However, I will say that we had a great marina view that I did enjoy :goodvibes.
