I booked my flights this morning and I booked round-trip, should I have done One-Way flights or does it really matter? I am really hoping for cheaper fares to come out before my trip in November and I didn't know if one was easier to change than the other.

Thanks!

It's better to do the one ways in case a ding comes out and only one of your flights have the time you want you can change just that flight. ;)

Now with S-west you can only take advantage of lower fares with RT purchases if you make a change on both legs. So it is best to buy one ways in case only 1/2 of your trip becomes available for a lower fare. If you are willing to change dates or times you can do it with RT tickets.

They are all One ways .

The only difference is the linking the 2 to 1 confirmation nimber.

As the above stated book the one ways as they are easier to change .

Don't worry about having booked the tickets as roundtrip. I did the same thing. My departure was a DING at 39 and my return was a FunFare at 89. Yesterday whent they posted the 49 fares I went to Southwest's website, clicked on Travel Center, from there I clicked on Change Air Reservation. From there you key in your reservation number and the Credit Card holder's name and click on retrieve reservation. At this point it will show your departure flight first and then your return fligth. From here you can make any changes to the itenary.(Note, before doing this I recommend that you check to see if what you want is available. I usually have two windows open on my computer and toggle betweent the two.) Then I follow the instructions and click on the dates I want. SWA will automatically update and and credit your SWA acct. The SWA credit is good for one year from the date of original purchase. My savings yesterday for two tickets was $94.00. Good luck! It is a very simple process even with round trip tickets. :thumbsup2

When booking one ways, does this mean 2 completely separate transactions (one after the other )?

Yes thats correct

Just make sure on that your depart airports are correct with your dates .

Some here have booked in one direction for both the trip down and the trip home rushing to get that cheap fair.
