SWA EBCI - can you select it for just your return flight

Looking at our flights for next week - as of right now there are still at least 7 seats open on our departing flight (I just checked it for our travel party basically) and so I don't really feel the need to spend $50 for EBCI. However on the way home (President's Day) our flight is sold out and so I am considering adding EBCI for just our return flight.

Is this an option?

Can anyone tell me how to do just a one way EBCI? I always book round trip and when I click EBCI it does it for both ways and I cannot see where to change it to just one way.

I purchased the tickets and then after that transaction went back and added the EBCI to my return flights in a separate transaction.
