SWA APRIL watch

castlegazer said:
Its a little mixed on the Thursday thing. Look:

Sept 23, 2004 open to March 3, 2005 - A THURSDAY
Oct. 22, 2004 open to April 1, 2005 - A FRIDAY
Dec. 9, 2004 open to June 6, 2005 - A THURSDAY

This year so far:

Sept 26, 2005 open to Feb 3, 2006 - A MONDAY
Oct 27, 2005 open to March 31, 2006 - A THURSDAY

Now this is assuming that the dates posted on the first page of this thread are correct. So, I say, let's all just keep our eyes peeled still daily - probably not on the weekends, though.
Dang, I could've gone all day without seeing that. I just remembered that last December when I bought them for April it was a Thursday, & I noticed that this last extention was a Thursday.

How soon do you need to book your flight when the new dates are announced. A few hours, a day ...... especially since we're flying from Pgh. & USair's prices are up to $500 for 4/7-4/15. I just don't want to have to drive.......................
I would book as soon as possible. Your 4/7 will probably be ok, but the 15th will go very quick. You should be firm on your dates and have 1 and 2nd choices planned, and be checking as much as possible...it could be any time now. :confused3 SWA used to realease around 120 days out...the March dates came out at 100 days out...so we are in the "release timezone"

BTW If I had to guess...I would think it would not be a Thurs...since the March dates were on a Thurs...it would be too predictable. But that's just a guess. Let's startapplying the pressure..... pirate:

You people are so informative! If I see a pattern - will they open up in July in January some time?

Also, how fast do seats go for July 1? Am I going to hit the July 4 rush?

Here we go again...I'll be able to check at 7:45 am...but then I have to go to the vet :guilty: ...I know I am going to miss this window...whenever it turns up :confused3 Will day 116 be it?????

To me the pattern seems to be decreasing the window...And yes July 1st seats will go very quick...lots of people flying

My experience is that SW changes the schedule at 11:00 AM. But, might be wrong this time.

I think they will do it on the 8th or 15th.

When we were looking for end of Oct/Nov this year, it opened July 15th! That's 3 & 1/2 months out.

just adding my name to list of persons waiting!

Does anybody think it's strange there have not been any DINGs today?

I e-mailed Southwest Airlines to ask when April was being released:

You did? How? This is what I found at the Southwest website...

E-mail Policy - Why We Don't Accept E-mail
Call us traditional, but we elect to steer clear of the chat-style, respond-on-demand, quick casual format and focus on meaningful Customer dialogue. This is not because we don't care. It's because that style counters our commitment to Customer Service.

Our Customers deserve accurate, specific, personal, and professionally written answers, and it takes time to research, investigate, and compose a real business letter. We answer every letter we receive in the order it arrives, and we streamline in order to keep our costs low, our People productive, our operating efficiency high, and our responses warm and personal.

How did you do it? This is very interesting. Please explain. How did you get this wonderfully informative reply from Southwest when their policy is to not accept e-mail? Some true Pixie-dust...or something else.

OK I went to Customer Care, then clicked on Internet Help Desk and filled out the customer inquiry form. And 'Voullah'...they e-mailed me back with an answer.I don't know how accurate it is but I thought I would share it with you guys.
I can see everyone scratching their heads and rubbing their chins now but I really did get an e-mail back from customer service.
So come this Thursday (let's all cross our fingers and hope) we should be able to book our April thru June 7th flights....Only time will tell.....

Sounds like a cogent explanation, and quite possible. Strange and perhaps a bit serendipitous if the reply is truthful and comes to fruition. If so, my hats off to you.
