SWA APRIL watch

FYI: I just called S-west customer service to see if they would say its today and I got a message that their office isn't opening till 10am (CST) due to the bad weather. Not sure how this will affect the schedule opening if any. Please be today!

Does anyone have a guess about this? Will it be today and if so will it morning? TIA

As of 12:01pm EST nothing yet, and I'm in the Buffalo Airport flying Southwest today. The Southwest people at the gate didn't know anything about an extension today, but she said "we find out the same time you do."

Nope, nothing as of 12:17pm either. I'll check again in an hour or so.

Arggghhh.
I booked my flights a couple months ago when I got a good deal on American, but I'm waiting for a return flight on SW for my mom and sister. I can't finalize my plans until I know exactly what day they are leaving and that depends on which days have the best fares.

I'm still at the Buffalo airport. Nothing as of 1:00p CST, and the Southwest people here still haven't heard anything about a schedule extension. They were pretty quick to say - "nope, it's still March 31st."

Where oh where are my southwest fares, where oh where can they be...I can't find them anywhere, maybe they are hiding from me!

Anyone get a DING today? I did not, which I thought was a good sign that there might be a release today....hmmmm

No Dings here either - very slow day!

Maybe they are updating there systems?

At what time of day is "past" the time that SWA will release further booking?

Hi all,

I just got a ding but when I checked there were no extended dates so I guess it won't be today. I am getting impatient. :hyper:

I just got a response from SW Vacations that also says December 22.
That's some funny math they are doing when they say packages are available approximately five months in advance.

I hope it's not the 22nd! We leave on 4/1, so that's a little over 90 days out. I can't believe we have the hotel, car and dinner reservations but not airfare. I wish I understood their logic...my DH is ready to book on another airline.

I think it has something to do with having a concrete, confirmed flight schedule, as opposed to other airlines who allow you to book months and months in advance, and then subject you to multiple changes in your itinerary. But still, I'd like to get this part of my vacation taken care of! :Pinkbounc

Since the accident yesterday, I think it will be a little while...but who knows. (I have been watching for FEB, March, and April for friends....and I don't even fly SW, but I am the only one they know that is a stay at home mom :confused3 )

I found this press release from Southwest when I was checking the schedule this morning. Yes, no one on the plane had serious injuries, but a 6 year old boy on the ground was killed. The plane slid off the runway into an intersection in Chicago pinning a car under the nose. There was a family in the car, and the 6 year old boy killed was in the car. Horrible, horrible news - especially so close to the holidays.

man, I don't think they will do it now with the news.

This is getting tense.
