SW - who's going to wait to buy

We will wait also. Since we are about 2.5 hours from both St. Louis and KC I will keep checking both. I saw a couple of months ago SW had $49 OW from KC. I can't pay what they are asking right now! We have to buy 4 tickets!!
ugh! It's so dang expensive.

Where are you in MO traci? I am from Sedalia, lived in Otterville and Warrensburg.

And my cousin is in Independence and got the $49 a while back (Dec?) for her flight in May, for the flight down to Disney. Right now, the same flight is $94. Hopefully they will go down, so she can get home.

I booked SW yesterday at $69/each way from MHT to MCO for 8/10 & 8/24. Today the same flight is $148/each way. Glad I didn't wait.

Unfotunatly, that is the price we started off here from BDL. Never had a shot less than $100.

UConnJack:

Keep checking. Last year I missed out on the day the flights opened. In late March/early April they went back down. While I didn't get the $69/each way, it was only $79/each way.

Me too, my flights PHX - MCO were $79 yesterday, $169 today (both listed as internet specials).

I'm going to keep waiting for now. I must buy 6 tix for Indy to MCO for June 1-10th. But I have 1 big question...Each ticket will be in a different name, what happens when a DING comes up and the rate is cheaper...does the credit come as a lump amt. or is it broken down to each person and each person has a credit to use in the future. It will be my credit card and I am one of the 6 people flying. Just curious as to how the credit is broken down.:thumbsup2

If you fly into Tampa it's alot cheaper! When I checked from Philly to Tampa it was half the cost of flying into Orlando!

I noticed the same thing. Im seriously considering flying into Tampa and driving the rest. We were going to rent a car anyway.

I have cancelled and rebooked a ton of times on SW, and the credit has been in my name as a lump sum. To view your credit you have to put in your last name and the credit card you used.

We're another BDL here, never saw below $158 yesterday -- EACH WAY!
Count me in as waiting, but we'll fly Delta if they wind up being better.

I was in the boat of waiting for SW fares, but today I checked Airtran and my city (BUF) was just reduced to $59 each way. So if your home airport uses Airtran, don't forget to check that asap.

I'm happy for everyone with airtran! I wish I had that option! I'm getting so tired of checking I'm almost going to book Delta! I'd really have to be distressed and have absolutely no fingernails left!

I have been looking at the fares from Indy to Orlando and our lowest is the "Internet one-way fare". Historically, is this the lowest fare that will ever be available or do I hope for a lower fare?

I gave up on Southwest from Indy and booked Northwest on direct flights for May for $137.29 round trip. Southwest lost our bookings for May - too bad.

I booked my ticket online through SWA from OMA to MCO. I got $183 round trip. I booked in the middle to late january for travel 3/13-3/20. I guess I'm lucky.

There's 6 of us, including 2 small children, and only one non-stop per day each way. So, I felt better to go ahead and book. Plus we leave on a Sunday and return on a Friday, both popular days. No internet fares have been available yet. I was able to get a Fun Fare for the trip down, but even that's not been available yet for the return. $160 return. UGH! And now the return is up to $180!! That's about $800 overall more than we budgeted. Still checking morning, noon and night for lower fares, and hoping for some pixie dust, but I have peace of mind knowing we're on the flights we wanted.
Oh - other airlines are same or more, and no non-stops. We fly from Louisville.

For the past two years, I've booked the low SWA fares for May trips in March. I noticed their current sale ends March 8th, so I'm going to be watching after that for their Florida sale. Right now, we've got the $49 each way to Tampa, but if the rate shows up for Orlando, I'll switch them.
