Hi all,

So earlier this morning I wrote the breakup letter and I meant it (really) but I just had to see what the fares were anyway from Chicago to Orlando and the cheapest is $92 internet fare. WTH??!! after all that waiting, not even a couple of lower prices?:headache:

So how many people are going to keep waiting before buying to see if fares go down?

wanna try MCO to PIT for $147.90 ONE WAY:scared1:

sucked it up & booked anyway, too far to walk;)

I can beat that! Try St. Louis to Orlando...$169 Each WAY PER PERSON!

Yeah, I'm not going to lay out almost $800 for the two of us. That's laughable!

At the last release, I got STL to Ft. Lauderdale, 4/7 Sat thru 4/15 the following Sunday for total of 186 R/T PP. That's prime time to prime location.

Time to go check on AA.com

If you fly into Tampa it's alot cheaper! When I checked from Philly to Tampa it was half the cost of flying into Orlando!

Yeah, that's what I did this morning. From what I understand, it's 1 1/4 hours from the Tampa Airport to WDW. I booked Nashville - Tampa for $49 each way for the 3 of us. $352 total, inc. tax. for May 13, return May 21.

I was shocked by the price from St. Louis to Orlando too! We could fly into Tampa for $178 per person round trip - but I think we'll hold out a little longer yet since I would rather avoid the hour drive to/from Tampa since we already have an hour drive to/from Lambert Intl Airport in St Louis.
We'll be at WDW the same time you are - 6/6-6/13.

Manchester to Ft. Lauderdale - $145 one way
Manchester to MCO - $69 one way

Sounds like a road trip to me! :rotfl:

How long of a drive is it from Ft. Lauderdale to Orlando?

I went ahead and booked on AirTran a few weeks ago and was afraid that I'd regret it once the SW fares came out... But it looks like I didn't need to worry. The cost saving would have been $0 and the depart/arrival times are approximately the same.

About 3-4 hours IIRC. My sister lives in Hollywood, FL

I booked..... we've been waiting forever for the dated to be released........ so when I seen that they were I call the TA and she had the same flights as me up when she called back so I called to ask about military discounts, which didn't save us any, but the price was the same so I booked it at $217 per ticket round trip...... the TA said that was a pretty good price and she doesn't think that it would be any less........if it does go down, I guess we get a credit?!

But from what we had priced out... around $2000 to the $1304 that we paid I guess that is a good price!

Now nothing more to worry about, but packing when the time comes!!!

Way longer than I like (about three hours) but I hate to pay $1286 for the four of us when I can pay $583. I was hoping to do Disney after our cruise anyways, I just wasn't planning on doing it before. :rotfl:

BWI and IAD are both thier normal $79 fare. We will waiting to book, hoping that Feb. 23rd brings a new sale and drops the price some.

We booke PHL-TPA 6/22-6/30 for $164pp round trip. For the same dates to MCO the prices were $117 one way going down and $135 coming back.

The St. Louis fare shocked me too; enough to forget SW and book on Delta out of Peoria; at least there are no parking fees there.

I'm waiting and buying. I have 3 RR vouchers to use for my DH and both children so I'll go ahead and book their roundtrip tickets. I have a credit but I know that SWA will go lower so I'm waiting for a sale or DING before I buy my ticket.

Well, I was home from work today, and I completely forgot (until about 1:30) that SWA was supposed to open the July fares today. After lunch I realized my thoughtlessness, so I dialed up the SWA site.

I was able to get PIT to MCO for $117 on July 22 and MCO to PIT for $49 on July 28. If I would have changed to a July 21 departure I could have had the $49 fare as well. That would save me about $134. I thought about flying in a day early, staying at POP (no tix or dining), and then moving to the WL for the rest of the trip. POP was $89 (AAA rate), so my savings were down to about $45. Factor in two meals, the hassle of changing resorts, and extra dog sitting and childcare arrangements... it probably would have cost me more to go a day early.

Anyway, our RT fare with taxes and fees for the two of us was $370. The best N/S fare I found prior to that was $238 RT on USAirways. It looks like SWA was able to save me some money. Yay!

Now if I can just find a way to pay for all of this...:rotfl2:

We will wait also. Since we are about 2.5 hours from both St. Louis and KC I will keep checking both. I saw a couple of months ago SW had $49 OW from KC. I can't pay what they are asking right now! We have to buy 4 tickets!!
ugh! It's so dang expensive.

I'm waiting too. BDL to FLL (seeing relatives) for May 4th is $190 ONE WAY, and return MCO to BDL on May 14th is $160 ONE WAY.

There are some better deals out of PVD and back from TPA, but now I'm adding hours of driving, and PVD doesn't have direct to FLL anyway.

I am going to wait a while, but will likely go Airtran or Jetblue out of SWF (Newburgh, NY) for about $200 RT, with direct flights both ways. If I don't see any Dings for May by middle/end of March.

Only dates i could find were tues & wednes my dates...not exactly prime time:rolleyes1

Glad your happy, our fare for 3 people 1 way mco to pit was approx $444:scared1: ...think i'll probably cancel, save the credits & book AT on earlier flight.
