Second, maybe Christy didn't realize what a big deal it would be for her. I think it's great that she is out there, WILLING to try and being an EXAMPLE to others. Differences such as these can be overcome, I think it's just overwhelming at the beginning. The others could be more understanding.

I would think those big spiders and bugs would have been all the motivation they would need.

I think Christy did realize what a big deal it would be from her comments about it happening all the time. I think all the women were overwhelmed and were just concentrating on themselves. I'm sure someone will make friends with Christy

It was the one lady(I don't know her name) who was interviewing Ryan. She said they blew a 20 minute lead on the balance beam part. He agreed and said that he was happy with the editing or half the show could have been them trying to cross.

Now all we have to do is hope that every challenge involves balance and the girls will completely eliminate the guys! I guess that wouldn't be too much fun, huh? I have to admit I was LMAO the entire time!

I missed the beginning of the show, but I think, for obvious reasons, Christy is my early favourite.

I am sure she knew what she would be getting herself into and think she will speak out again. Like others have said, at first everyone was too busy "trying" (and I use the term loosely) to get organized. Hopefully it won't take them too long, esp after next week's rainfall, to realize that shelter is #2 only after water.

Curious to see what is in the box next week too.

I wasn't overly impressed with Dan either, I think he blew that competition, and it looked good on him. I like Dave, I think he will be a standout on the guys' side as long as he doesn't get too pushy.

Can't wait for the next show, thanks for starting the thread, Kev!

FABULOUS FIRST EPISODE!!!

I was afraid Survivor was doomed if this one turned out to be as bad as Thailand.

Many of the people seem likeable and no one stands out as being a total jerk. Last time I just couldn't find anyone to root for.

I felt bad for Christy and know if I had been there I would have been her friend. (But did you notice the first day when she was explaining her hearing loss and raised her arm - yikes - obviously she doesn't shave - apparently ever!!!

My DH was LOL at the girls trying to chop the trees. Can't wait for next week!!!

Boy did Survivor make up for that AWFUL last season with this one! I hope it continues to be this great!

I did worry about the very thin girls, they really don't have much room to lose! Remember the woman who won the second year? The news said she went from Ellie Mae Clampett to Granny!

I was sooooo hoping Daniel would be the first one out.

The official website mentions the "mystery item" ( I won't say what it is un case you want to wait for the show next week). I wonder if it was placed there by Jeff or one of his crew to cause problems and see how the tribe handles it.

My DH mentioned the possibility of the tribes having to switch "homes" - wonder if that will come into play.

I would like to believe if I were there I would have stepped forward and made the others remember Christy. They were rude, insensitive or maybe just plain dumb the way they ignored her after she confided in them and asked them to please speak facing her.

My DH felt so bad for Christy. He wanted to know WHAT was wrong with the other girls. He thought Christy was so sweet. I thought she was a bit of a crybaby but, to tell the truth, if I was in her shoes, I would have been bawling too.

I also want to say thanks for NOT posting spoilers (at least on this thread). I do avoid it most of the day on Thursday "just in case." I am not a fan of spoliers..uh...because they....like spoil the fun


I did see something on anoher board that I thought was pretty neat for spoilers. The post had it so you had to highlight the area to read it. Unfortunetly I don't see a way to do that here. You would have to have the background and font color the same color and I don't see a way to change the bg color.
