Survivor 41

They have 5 of 6 (Sydney was in their original tribe).

I think Shan is WAY over playing. Her instincts were correct in this case imo, that Naseer was loyal at this point, but probably not soon. But Xander is a real threat from now to eternity. But she has zero patience in adapting/playing the game.

Another thought on Shan's play. There is a LOT of time left, but the jury starts now. Shan could wake up and change her approach, but even if she makes it to the end, there may be a LOT of people who have negative feelings about her.

I hate the challenges like they had last night. "sit out if you feel safe...: And who was the first to step up? Shan!! I"ll never understand how the group doesn't look at who stepped up and votes them right out!! I couldn't fathom why Xander didn't participate in the challenge. I know he's got the idol but hey! double up. So glad Tiff FINALLY got the boot. She should've gone long ago. I hate the total division of the tribe. But it happens every season. Although i do love when the upper-hand alliance has to start picking off their own..

I don't really understand their votes either. Xander only ended up getting 2 votes. If they wanted to get him out or flush the idol, why not put most the votes on him? That's the 2nd time the person they claim to want out doesn't get the most votes. And this night, they COULD have (as well as if they'd put more votes on Evvie). I feel like there is so much flip flopping, that I'm missing the majority alliance strategy. Shan and Deshawn bickered about if they should target Xander or Naseer (both with idols) and NEITHER of them got the majority of votes (or used their idols). I guess this was a case of everyone being afraid they were going to end up as the 2nd place vote and wanted to make the safe choice. Weird to me tho.

Xander seemed to be looking for an advantage at the sit out bench. I can’t believe he didn’t find it! I thought that was why he switched to sit out.
I really though he sat out to hunt for it!

It totally seemed like he was sitting out for that. He actually did seem to be looking around on the bench so I *think* he figured something was there. The camera showed him several times looking all around the bench. A shame he didn't find a way to feel under the bench better. I was thinking he even could sit on the platform, put his feet in the water and sorta be able to see it better what is under or right around the bench.

Seems like others are catching on to Shan’s manipulative ways now.
Yes! Seriously if I was watching the show and had her as a pastor I would be finding a new one ASAP. Her telling how she convinces people in her congregation to follow her way is disgusting really. She's manipulative you got that right. Any talk of her just being this way for the game seems to be showing nope she's like this IRL. Also agree with the poster talking about how she said she understands how to talk to people differently but she really doesn't seem to be that way. She's pushing people abruptly not gently, not appealing to them in a way that is more likable. She sorta seems to be patronizing.

I think sometimes there are good and understandable reasons why people step out that don't mean they should be on the chopping block but I think it sorta depends each season. Sometimes it's just you know the people are in a good alliance no hard feelings, sometimes they are altruistic in that there's something the whole tribe benefits off of if enough people step out (food, supplies, etc) but then other times it's straight up over confidence. I think Shan was straight up over confidence but it looked more convincing to others because she hadn't eaten much, she seemed to be known to be "for the good of the tribe" enough that people probably never thought anything of it.
ricard urging Xander to use his idol -how silly, as if Xander isn’t catching on to that
Right!? So this dude says to you several times to play your idol just in case....way too obvious Ricard. Speaking of Ricard, I do agree with Shan about him coming over to get papaya. Sure it may be the "island's" fruit but come on it IS rude to do something like that after you just ate the food. He's not completely clueless in this game play but that move was.

I'm kinda over evvie now. She did make a good point about Xander and Tiff playing the idol when she got votes but something about her it's starting to grate on me. I can't put my finger on it though. I think she's still a decent person though.

Someone made a comment here on this thread about not knowing about a Heather..I'm right there with you now! I think the editing of the show meant we really didn't know who some of these people were until now.

I think I'm wanting some of these players that have stayed back a bit or have been more powerless to come storm out of the gates now. Erika on the outs girl get in there with people, Xander is really becoming good at approaching several people, even Evvie could use some oomph maybe she should have her own alliance going instead of trying to attach to someone else's (mainly it seemed Shan's), I think the guys need to be a bit more vocal here. I'm not really wanting a guy vs girl season but they've not done a huge amount of action aside from Xander really starting to. I'm not a fan of Ricard but he could really use getting out on his own IMO instead of being below Shan. But I'm not sure he's likable enough for that.

I would be very happy to see Shan and Ricard go next. His whole attitude bothers me and taking the papaya was just rude. She doesn't really listen to others and what she said about her parishioners was just "WOW".

I am so frustrated after watching tonight. The whole lets-get-up-chat-stop-tribal is growing old. Kudos to Xander for pulling the wool over everyones eyes. And how dumb was Liliana to use the advantage on Xander after she flat out told him!! This bunch makes me nuts. Don’t tell everyone you have a secret! Cardinall Rule. Doofuses. still hate Evvies god-awful rainbow ugly pants. Possibly the single worst garment ever. Where does one buy such ugly stuff?
I don’t know if it the color of the underpants, but I think it has a button latch door on the front of the underwear. I think she is definitely making a statement, just don’t know though what it could be.

I agree too, The let’s-get -up-and-chat at Tribal has to stop. I have never missed a Season if Survivor and I cannot believe Jeff and the producers did not put a stop to that.

They are not going to stop it, it creates drama for the show. Sometimes we forget these tribal councils last for a couple of hours or more, there is a lot going on that we don't see.

I had no problem with 'a pastor' coming on the show and having to lie/manipulate....HOWEVER, I qualified it by saying she wasn't saying "trust me, I'm a pastor" as part of her game play. I don't think she's said those words exactly, but when she pulled the "pastor card" at tribal when talking about the rice/sit out offer, huge turnoff. And that gleeful way she talked about placating the people in her church all the while knowing she was going to do what she wanted? Total turnoff.

If she ends up on the jury, she'll likely make a big effort to influence others, so I don't know what's better for the survivors, facing her at the end or having her on the jury.

@leeniewdw
I read a rumor...will try on put it in spoiler quote...about F3 so readers beware
Read that Erika and Heather and Xander are F3 and the jury is swayed to give Xander no votes and Erika wins. It says that Erika splits the AA alliance somehow. Think Heather gets a couple votes but Xander gets none due to bitter Bettys. This is a very weak rumor as the person initially said Tiffany was in F3 so take it for what it is.

Something else I didn't like was that it seemed as if Xander volunteered to sit out and Probst ordered Erika to compete in the challenge. Because if I was Erika, I know what happened last time I was put on the bench and maybe there's another advantage available...

True, but he phrased it like he waas giving her an opportunity to be able t oeat, so it sounded like he was doing her a favor. But yeah, Jeff should have asked her if she wanted to participate or not.

My spoiler above...here is a little more and a bit of a change...So maybe F3 is Deshawn, Xander and Erika with Erika winning. Supposedly it's Deshawn who betrays the AA alliance. And there is a late game twist called do or die that eliminates Heather. And Liana and Evvie lead the charge against the anti-Xander voting. Liana because of Xander's recent move where she wasted her steal an idol advantage. And Evvie goes on tirade about not having another white male winner as that has been overdone and sexism.

I would guess that conversation did happen and it was simply edited out.
