Oh Kathy, what a decision! Your cons are valid considerations, but my first reaction is to say go for it. Easy for me to say right? Being the newbie can be intimidating, but it also sounds like an exciting career advancement. Commutes can make a big difference... is it at least an interesting 40 minutes?

Not really... crowded Northeast highways... blech!

I have a question after reading your update -- is a Medical Assistant the same thing as a Physician's Assistant? Or are they different?

Oh no, a PA has much more education... a Master's Degree.
An MA is more like a certification course... not sure how long. More than a Nursing Assistant, but not as much as an LPN.

Good Luck Kathy... new jobs and searching is awfully stressful. You will deserve a trip once the search is over.

Just stumbled on your PTR today! Hope all goes well tomorrow and the pay will make the hassles all worth it! I recently decided I needed a vacation so we're going to Sea World for two days. That wasn't enough for me - I had to squeeze in breakfast at Disney to get my Disney fix until we're there later this year! If we could swing getting our APs sooner, we'd spend the time at Disney no question. That's not in the cards right now so we're checking on Sea World.

Have a great time planning for the trip and I hope all your dreams come true!!!

Someday we hope to visit Sea World... but now that Harry Potter is at IOA, we may have to pay a call on Hogwart's!

I'm loving the suspense, Ed, the job etc.. I am definately in! Funny, I was lurking on the boards trying to get a Diz fix as two weddings and Grandchildrens birthdays axed my usuallly F&G trip I take each year. I was not planning to return to Disney until September for NOJ but just couldn't stand it and have booked a Star Wars weekend (never been) quick trip to tie me over. I'm hoping to take a Monday off, have to see what the boss says next week!Keep your fingers crossed for me and I will for your trip too!!

PS: Being the "newbie" in the office has it's advantages, your not part of the politics, bring a fresh perspective and get to me lots of interesting people you may not have encountered!

I love that you are planning a secret trip and am keeping my fingers crossed that the interview goes well on Monday! I know nothing points vs codes or singature restaurants, but I will be reading anxiously as I hope that someday there will be a parents only trip for Ryan and me!

Thanks... I'm praying for courage... I think that I'm just a bit nervous about such a big change! Ed would love to see me bringing in more money, but he told me that if I decide I don't want the job, he'll understand.

Let's just see if they offer it, first!

The second interview went well... the salary seems very good, although they just gave me a "range" which is annoying. Met the Medical Director and he seems nice. They are interviewing one other candidate this week and I should be hearing from them by Friday.

I'm so anxious to get caught up on all my PTRs and TRs tonight, but my back has been having some spasms and the muscle relaxant is making me sooo sleeeepy!

One thing's for sure, if I do get this job I will definitely be using the discount code for the weekend and save my DVC points for the family trip!
