Supercheap internet service? Recommendations needed

A coworker is looking for a super cheap internet service in the Knoxville TN area. Her nephew was given a pc but the mom can't afford a high cost provider. Any ideas or siggestions? TIA.

Netzero has a free dial up plan. You get 10 hours a month, and it does have a banner ad on the browser. But if you want cheap, this is the way to go. You have to search on their website to find it, but I checked and it is still there. I think Juno has the same deal also.

They have a lot of access numbers through out the USA so this kind of service may fit your needs if you only go online very seldom or you are traveling and need a temporary ISP. In addition Juno also offers unlimited use packages starting at $9.95 (at the time of this writing).

2) Access 4 Free - Free Internet Service Provider
Each month you get 10 hours of free Internet service from Access 4 Free and are charged $1 for each additional hour with a maximum of $10 for unlimited (at the time of this writing). They have thousands of access numbers in the USA so this may be a cheap ISP alternative for you.

3) G4 Free Dial Up - Free Internet Service Provider
G4 Communications service area includes Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Rhode Island. Be sure to check the restrictions on their site and make sure that their limited dial up numbers are a free call.

4) NetZero - Reduced Fee Internet Service Provider
NetZero has several different packages starting at $9.95 a month (at the time of this writing). With NetZero you get all the services you expect to get with a costly ISP including virus protection, email addresses and more.

5) MetConnect - New York City Free ISP
New York City's free Internet service provider with no restrictions. Be sure to check local accesses numbers so that you aren't making a long distance call.

6) No Charge - Free ISP in New England and Northwest
No charge offers free ISP service to select areas. Make sure that you check the number that you are dialing so you aren't dialing long distance.

7) WalMart Connect - Free Internet Service
Try for free and after that it is only $9.94 a month (at the time of this writing). For more about Walmart Connect, click the link for my review.

8) Peoplepc
People PC has a deal for 1/2 price on the first three months (at the time of this writing) and then $10.95 per month. You get many local access numbers, no banner ads and email.

Juno also has free dial up for 10 hours like netzero if you need more then that it's 9.95 a month. Does she live in a house or a complex if she lives in a complex she might be able to steal high speed from one of her neighbors by picking it up on her card.
