The park officially opens and begins fastpass distribution at 8am (i think). But you have to be waiting on line, which will begin forming at the wee hours of the morning. Depending on what show and who you're looking at seeing, you may or may not end up with a fastpass. I usually get Kelly/Greg.

I'm getting to the hotel around 9 am on Friday. I'll be at the gates at like 3 am on the GH line. I've heard some stuff about the events. The only thing I haven't heard anything about is the IWBASS 'cause I dont' think they're doing that this year since Season 5 is up in the air. There are a few special surprises planned. Also, make sure you go to the Talk Show of your favorite show

That is my last day of my trip and I am thinking of getting a cab from my hotel (offsite last two nights) to go for a little while before joining my family for the last day (we have to leave the parks at 2 to head to airport).

I figure I'm not going to get to do any meet and greet or maybe even any shows/talk/parades etc. but I want to see what I can for about 2 hours in the morning - what is going on at 8 or 9am?

Also, in the event I can convince my family to come with me to do some rides there too - how are the overall movement of the crowds to get around to the rides?

Hollywood Studios opens at 8AM. You can get into the park starting at that time. The first event is going to be around 9AM. So, if you're not giong to get fastpasses, that is what you should be looking to do. I don't know what show this will be. It will probably be one of the talk shows. Now, keep in mind, the past few years, the park has reached maximum capacity - most of the parks guests are those that are in from the Fastpass lines. Last year, my friend decided not to get a fastpass and then when she came back, she was blocked from coming in. It happens. I expect it to be worse this year.

The rides are generally dead. 2 years ago, I was able to ride Tower of Terror without any wait. Last year, we were waiting for the Triple Play show to start and we got off the line to go on Rock n Rollercoaster and it was a 60 minute wait. So it really depends. Coming it at 8am, you should be able to see a talk show or two.

Yeah! I'm looking forward to it. I love the atmosphere and the crowd. There are some pyscho fans that I can do without, but you're gonna get them regardless. LOL. SSW is unlike any soap event that I've ever been to and I've been doing them for YEARS. It will be sad to see it end - for now.

I hope we steer clear of the psycho fans this year . We are arriving on the 12th, leaving on the 18th. I can't wait to go back. The trip we just got back from was a little stressful, I am looking forward to seeing some people I have met from the last couple of SSW!!

You are so right. I live in the area, so I'll be here until it's time to check into my resort on Friday. I'm staying there from the 14th to the 17th. Why was your trip stressful? That's one of the things I love most about going to these events. For me, it isn't so much the actors because I have seen the actors more times than I care to count. I love seeing Greg. I love seeing Kelly. LW is awesome too. So is Bradford. But the best part for me is the environment. I love seeing the other fans and hanging out with them. It is so unlike other fan events that I have been to.

The trip in Oct. was 10 days/9 nights. DBF's 10th trip, my 5th, and our friends 1st. She didn't listen about the amount of walking, she lied about how much she actually smokes and was in search of a smoking area almost constantly. She said "I am just happy to be going, I am following you" when I asked about restaurant choices and itinerary plans, then did nothing but complain.

We told her how 'Ohana and Whispering Canyon Cafe was. The games with the kids, the noise, the interactions etc. She said she thought it was way too loud at the "Whispering" Canyon Cafe and the "brats" were annoying. That set me off, I said "we are in DISNEYWORLD!! Kids are every where". She backed off after that.

I am just so happy to be going back to SSW for the 3rd year in a row with someone (Bill) that loves WDW as much as I do . We won't take people with us from now on .

OMG. I completely know how that is. I hate inviting someone and being around someone who lives for complaining. I know a lot of people like that and it drives me nuts. Ohana is one of my favorite restaurants. I love it there. It always makes me crazy when people say, "we don't want to be near kids." I'm like, "it's Disney....what did you expect?"

I'm excited for SSW. Once SSW is over, I'll be worrying about GHFCW and what is going on with that since the Sportsman Lodge is going under new management. Don't know what's going on there. I really want to do the Rock the Soap Cruise, but I can't seem to drag my friend with me. But once I go to SSW and find out for sure that certain people are going with no possibility of backing out, i'd feel better about going. The cost doesn't bother me. It's paying and then having my favorite back out at the last minute and being hit with cancellation fees that bothers me.

I am so sorry to hear about your "friend" not enjoying yourself, you need to stay away from people like that! Sounds like a bummer of a trip, but SSW in 10 days will be A-OK! It will more than make up for it!

Kelly will not leave her line until every one of her fans are satisfied on her line too. She will come up to teh barricade too, and give either a photo or autograph. I'm totally psyched for it!

Getting so excited! We get in mid morning on Sarutday, planning on going to SS in the late afternoon and evening. Then all day on Sunday! I am so not getting up at the crack of dawn to get fastpasses, so I hope that I will still get to get a few autographs. So bummed that they are not releasing the schedules until the 13th!
