Sunshine Rewards

I agree! Its the worst! Its like highway robbery! Or bait and switch! Ok, maybe not but you kwim!! ;)

Its such a massive waste of time, not to mention all the private data and info they gather about us!

And sometimes I wonder (hope!!) that someday it'll be *illegal*!! :lmao: :scared1:

Seriously.

Something should be done, its just not right. Something like the truth in advertising law that was created when too many companies were totally mis-representing their products! But on a much different scale! ;)

I think it really really depends upon your demographic. I tried every day for a month with every single survey they offered me and did not qualify for a single survey. I'd spend 10-15 minutes filling out the qualifying part of the survey and then boop I'd be popped out as a non-qualifier.

You're right- it is going to depend on your demographics for sure. But there are so many surveys out there looking for different demos that chances are you would fit into some. When I start a survey, there are lots of times I get screened out after a few questions. But I have never spent more than 10 minutes (or maybe even 5) filling out a survey and then get booted out as not qualifying. If that is happening to you, I think you might be failing their quality control. If you don't pass their quality control, it will boot you out and say that you don't qualify (it doesn't mention the quality control per se). It could be something as simple as going too fast on the survey to answering a question wrong. One type of quality control question they may include is an answer that says something like "everything at this store is free". If you just randomly selected answers, you might miss that.

I actually have been doing it very slow (wherehence the 20-25 minutes spent taking survey). I have seen the place 3 in all lines across. That is why I don't understand why this has happened twice now?

Also, I did a surveyhead survey out of Germany today. It was downloading some software that began with the letter g. My virus software caught it and told me it was a trojan virus :( Just a warning for anyone! Do not download this software.

I used to use hotels.com through SR. but discovered that I liked the stay 10 get 1 free deal better direct through Hotels.com. You can't do both..If you book through SR it takes you to a different booking area and you can't sign in to get your Hotels.com rewards. I really need to spend more time trying for surveys and reading the forum for more ideas...just got an email that said you get some sort of credits for printing and using coupons.com coupons through them..never knew that.
The thing with surveys that drives me NUTS is you go through all the qualifying stuff..and it says it has a survery for you. Then you answer lots more qualifying stuff then after all that it says you DON'T qualify..grrr..

Nunzia, tentatively, it's changed! You can get to the stay 10 area from the link on Sunshine!

Now...don't go booking a ton based on that. Right now I'm a bit freaked out b/c it's taking far longer for DH's stay to show up...so it's possible I caused them to find the problem, and it's possible they aren't going to let me double-dip. But they have been.

I actually asked the question on the forum and no one knew if you could combine...so I did it and it *has* been working (it's the weekend, tricia's been at a seminar, so those two could be causing the delay).

As many have said the surveys and shopping are the key to earnings. Take a look at the merchant list for everything you are buying and you may find what you need and get the cash back too!

The best thing is that they allow Canadian members, which many do not, and they work pretty hard to make sure we have some opportunities too. It can be harder to qualify for surveys but it is worth it when you do :)

I know this off topic but I am confused one time I started a thread on the budget board where I thought it would be fun to see how much money fellow dissers had saved for their trips and how they were doing so. I posted how I saved my change, recycled cans and I mentioned Sunshine Rewards and how I had gotten some Disney gift cards from then. Then the mod came around to my thread and everywhere in the whole thread it said Sunshine Rewards she took it out and put a blank......That is fine is that is being done consistently, however, after reading through this thread I see that it is not done....Not picking on you OP I just find these things strange....Are mods allowed to make up rules as they go along???? Weird.....

Well, I am glad to see I am not the only one this happens to. And I do go S L O W as well and actually completed 3 full surveys last week on the same day and got credited only for one of them. I was taken to the final screen on all three so I know I completed each and wasted 20 minutes at least on each one. Honestly, I think its a scam. I think its a way for teh companies to get your opinion FREE of charge. And thats a shame. Like sixty cents is going to break these comanpies banks?

Its especially rough when I can go to a one hour focus group in person here in Tampa and get anywhere from $50 - $125 for my time. Not sixty cents or not get paid at all.

i will show you how I get it. This is my breakdown and how much I have spent. I am actually going to disney for free in a month thanks in part to Sunshine

You can? I had asked awhile ago at SR why I couldn't sign in to my Hotels acct through the SR link and they answered they thought it had to do with double dipping..can you sign in to your hotels.com account from the SR link? I had booked once through SR and never got the hotels night but whined and got it manually added. It would be great if this would work..please let me know what you find out.
I am starting to have some trouble getting credits..a Hanes shopping order never got credited and the trouble ticket is still floating around and SR says they don't know why Hanes is balking..also, I now have a trouble ticket open for a Coldwater Creek order. Hope this isn't starting a trend...

I don't do well on surveys at all. I never seem to qualify. It is so much of a waste of time I have given up. I do surveys through e-rewards & do much better throught them. And they will pay you something even if you don't qualify. The surveys on SR just waste my time.

I do use SR for shopping though. I have saved a little over $45.00 in a year with another $8.00 pending. I'll take it though becase it is money spent on things I would have bought anyway, so might as well get the shopping credit.

Ok, so these *paid sign ups*- are those the ones that are basically advertising, like for example, you get a free pack of gummies if you sign up? And where a bunch of windows open up and then you get tons of spam junk mail? So how do you avoid that, or don't you care if you get it? Serious question.

The paid signups can include the freebies (which result in a lot of spam - I use a gmail address just for those if I do them, but I rarely do them). They can also include offers like Netflix (which I love), Vista Print (usually can get items free except for shipping, and the cash back frequently covers all or most of the shipping), and I think some special surveys that pay $1 or $1.50 - they are listed under offers, so I think they would show up here.

Almost all of my earnings are from the regular six daily surveys (those must be the miscellaneous credits) or from shopping.

Nope, I'm was not getting that far. I've gotten that far with Mypoints, but never with Sunshine Rewards. I was always getting like, does anyone in your family work in x industry; what do they do in x industry; do you have a cell phone provider; do you purchase items for work? I'd never get a you have qualified then get tapped out as not qualifiying as PP mentioned, it was sorry you don't qualify after answering about 50 questions about my personal information.

ETA - I'm at the point of seriously believing as a PP mentioned that they are collecting personal information and not paying out for it. In fact with Mypoints I've taken to deliberately not qualifying and just walking away with the 10 points as a non-qualifier.

I did a survey last night and again this morning and clicked the "click here to register your survey and still haven't been credited. I know it says it takes several hours to credit but these are surveys that I do and always get credit right away. It's not just SR, it has also happened 2 me with 3 different surveys on CR too. I am tired of wasting my time! :headache:

With the sign-ups, never ever use your main email addresses. Open a gmail just for rewards programs.

I don't do as well with SR as I used to, but this is still over $1,600 for playing on the computer! You can also see that I've done this without a lot of shopping.

This is impressive! I am just getting started with SR and am enjoying it. I have a question on the paid offers/sign ups. Do you need to provide a phone number for them? I don't want to give out my number, plus we dropped our landline and only have cell phones now.

Thanks.

Amy

Sometimes, and that is why I don't do the freebie paid offers. I don't mind getting spam e-mail if it is not my main account, but I don't want to be called at home or on my cell.

Some of the other offers (Netflix, Book of the Month Club, Vistaprint) ask for personal info to deliver a product or service. But I am OK with giving them my address and phone number. But I'm not giving out my phone number to choose whether I like Coke or Pepsi better for 25 cents! ;)

Some offers (like the limited-time surveys that are under Offers) ask for e-mail and general demographic info. The freebie offers (which are listed under a separate category) are information-harvesting - some people find that they are a great way to earn money, but I don't like to do them. SR works for me because I can earn money doing surveys and through shopping - it is more my comfort level.
