Should I send DH suit to be pressed as soon as we board? I think our first formal night on 7 day Western is Monday. Is it expensive to have suits pressed? Thanks!
The service on board is quick and reasonably priced. We plan on having all our formal wear pressed when we arrive. If you press it before you leave, it will be all wrinkled again when you get there.
Anita.
We just used the onboard pressing service on the 9-7 cruise, and it was fantastic.
We gave our items -- suits, dresses, etc. -- to our room steward on Saturday afternoon, and everything was back in our stateroom Sunday morning. I had four dresses, four shirts and a suit pressed, and the total cost was something like $25. In my opinion, it's a great deal.
It's very quick and very reasonably priced. At first we were going to just press but when we realized the cost of drycleaning was cheaper than what we were used to (both in the NY metro area and in the DC metro area) we decided to just have our things drycleaned also. Turnaround time was one day, I was nervous about getting them in on time and my room steward told me to relax, she would take care of it, she is there til 2am (!!) so i could get it to her as late as that. The garments were hanging in our stateroom the next day in plenty of time for dinner. IMO, dry cleaning and pressing on the ship is one of the few "bargains" there! We will never iron before going and then struggle to touch up when we get on board again! We are thinking of not even taking a garment bag this time and just folding our stuff in a suitcase and then sending it for a pressing.
