"SUCK IT UP BUTTERCUP! It Builds Character and Strength!" A July 2011 TR-COMPLETE 4/5

Now you've convinced me to try Chef Mickey's for dinner! I've always heard sub-par reviews on the food there at dinner but now you make it sound delicious! It sounds like you had great character interactions too. Awesome :thumbsup2

I hope you're off to a great start to the school year! :teacher:

We really like CM's for dinner as well! I know a lot of people don't, but those mashed potatoes are amazing if you ask me! popcorn::

That is so weird that your table neighbor had your same birthday! It really IS a small world after all! :upsidedow

Ooooo... Chef Mickey's! It looks like so much fun there and sounded like you had a nice experience. And that's so cool they gave you a yellow napkin versus the regular navy blue napkin! The perks of adding a celebration to your reservation. :thumbsup2

That's so cool the girl next to you had the same birthday as you and you both are the same age. Sing with me... "It's a small world, after all! It's a small world..." If you don't sing with me I'm not sure you ended up bursting out singing this on a plane. :sad2:

Oh all the food looks so good! I think that's the most mickey-themed food I've seen in Disney and that's saying something. The Mickey Ravioli looks wicked good :goodvibes Same with the Mickeyroni, Prime Rib and Salmon! I think I've gotten all the Mickey themed dinner foods LOL They are obviously delicious :teeth: I also must try the Pomegranate Lemonade, sweet!

Awwww... that's so cute you got to dance with Minnie and Goofy! LOL @ your comment about Minnie being more graceful. Obviously LOL And :thumbsup2 to your pirate hat, Donald is to nice and that cupcake he gave you looks SOOO GOOD! And you are taunting me with the dessert plate. (:

Can't wait to read more! :mickeyjum

Wait.......Mickey is FAKE!? I think my entire world just imploded......

:rotfl:

I haven't eaten dinner at Chef Mickey's in I don't know how long. I think I may have to give it a try. I think the last time I ate there was when I was 10. Yup, been a while.

Hahaha I mean the Mickey statue that they take your picture with before you're seated. :P

You should definitely give it a try! We had a great experience!

What a great dinner!! :goodvibes Everything looks so good especially the salmon!
How funny that you met your birthday twin. (: I also love your Stacy London streak in that one pic!

Everything was soo delicious!

Thanks! It's growing on me. She was so nice though!

LOVE CHEF MICKEY'S!!!! I love that place. when i was thirteen I chose that place as my "birthday dinner" It wasn't really my birthday but since my birthday is in may (same day as jess's but i'm two years older than her) and that is smack dab in the middle of ISAT/ACT testing, finals prep and end of the year stuff. So we ended up going in june and I chose a day in the vacation as my fake birthday. My friends who were in disney at the same time we were ate with us and it was great! It really is a great birthday place.

It really is! It's definitely a fun place to go with your friends. (:

Anyway about your character dining experience. Love your character pics (: You look super excited! I love the mickey ravioli!!!! it tastes delicious and I usually get half a plate full of that. That salmon looks good as well. I am eating there in january so i should try some of it. Love the story about minnie's reaction to what your nails looked like. Like how the cupcake had five candles sticking out of it!!!! I love the chef mickey cookies!!!! My mom and I take a mini bag with us and stick some cookies in there. I always try to have some room for dessert no matter what. I love the make you own sundae section. Oh and I always have to have one of the oreo mickey bon bon thing (not sure what to call it lol)

Can't wait to hear more!!! popcorn::

p.s: good luck with the start of school!

I was SO excited! Everything was so good and Minnie was adorable!

How funny that you and your mom take the cookies. They are really good though! I think Dave had one because I remember having a bite but I don't think I got it myself because I don't have a pic of it...oh well. They're yummy I agree.

Thanks! The first day was hectic as usual but good. It's nice to be an upperclassmen now.

WOW it sounds like you had a spectacular experience :goodvibes I really really want to go there!
I was sad that I didn't have it for dinner on my upcoming trip... but your statement about the atmosphere being juvenile actually justifies my lack of the meal cuz I don't think my family would love that if the food isn't beyond extraordinary. (I mean.. I would. But like Jonathan's too chill for that kind of stuff ) So aka what I'm getting at is that we'll go here for dinner on OUR next trip - whenever that may be!
And ummm hearing about that salmon makes me REALLY want to go there!! And the Mickey Ravioli and Mickeyroni and Cheese are SO cute! I want to eat them.
And I need to try those mickey domes. They are so incredibly adorable!
Haha that's funny that the girl next to you had the same birthday! So funny. How ironic.
Aww yay that sounds like it was so fun! :thumbsup2
and i love the tink cup and story about minnie too!
haha timmy i winnn (:

The whole meal was just great. :) We should definitely go there when we go back together!!!

I know you love salmon. That stuff was the BEST.

I think Mickey-shaped foods just automatically taste better. :thumbsup2

I know! It was so ironic! She was precious and her family got such a kick out of the fact that we had the same birthday. It was great.

The tink cup was so cute. Gotta love free souveniers!

YEAH YEAH TIMMY. Jess winss!

I LOVE THAT POMEGRANATE LEMONADE! And the Strawberry. it's just so goooood. :goodvibes

I agree. :) Delicious.

Whoa, twin! Did you look similar? I would have really freaked out and have a parent trap moment. It would have been hard to contain my excitement.

Not really. That would be weird if we did though! She had dark hair like me but that's about it. Haha I think I had a Parent Trap moment when me and Jess realized how much we both loved Disney.

The lighting is really weird! ): I could really go for some Mickey Raviolis right nowwwww.

Haha, I like the holder on the table as well. If they sold it (...do they!?) I probably would have bought on. It my trip journal at somepoint in the future from where I am updating currently, I wrote- "basically, I just want disney cookware in my kitchen. LOL" We're obviously on the save wavelength here.

It was! It messed up my pics. ): I LOVE Mickey raviolis!

I don't think they sell it. I wish they did! We just need to go shopping for Disney home decor together someday. :P

Aww Minnie's a sweetheart :cutie: I miss my Disney nails. And all my nails like, broke!!! Except my thumbs. So they're pretty much all short again and gross. -sigh- I'm letting them grow back.

That cupcake looks heavenly. :cloud9: And I love the cup!!!

Can't wait for more!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I miss mine too. ): I wanna do some more soon. Mine are breaking a little too. Now most of them are long but a couple aren't so they look a little out of place. Oh wellll..

It was a very good cupcake! The cup was super cute too! I'll try to do an update this weekend in between studying for our English test. :/ Blahhh.

Ooh Chef Mickey's looks so yummy! That salmon sounds SO good, I love salmon so much. I used to hate it but we eat it like every week in my house so now I love it, go figure.:rotfl:

That picture really does look like you have a Stacy London streak in your hair! And your Minnie interaction sounds so precious, I love when the characters notice the small little things we do to show our love for them!

I love salmon too! It's the best. We hardly ever eat it at my house so it's always a treat to have it in Disney!

I know it really does! I kinda like it haha. I love it too! Minnie appreciated my love for her and Mick. Hehe.

Yum yum! I am now crazing parmesan mashed potatoes! Great update, too funny how the table next to yours was also celebrating a birthday that was the same as yours, strange coincidence!

Those potatoes are FANTASTIC. So creamy and delicious. It was a very strange coincidence. Only in Disney, I swear.

Oh gosh- one more thing!!

I :lmao:-ed at the "Stacy London" comment. What a lady.

HAHAHA gotta love her. I love that show it's so good.

Loving your updates. Just working on catching up on all the TRs from when we were away. Lucky you that you didn't get any impact from the hurricane much during vacation. We ended up having to extend our vacation (bummer, huh?) while we were down there due to cancelled flights. I guess there are worse things than being in stuck in Florida and getting another Disney day out of it.

I love all of your photos. Some of the scenic shots have a nice "old-timey" feel to it. Nostalgic. Nice.

I think it would be so fun to get stranded in Disney! A better place I cannot think of. We did get very lucky with the weather though.

I'm so glad you're enjoying the updates! And thanks so much! I'm glad you like them! They do like kinda nostalgic. I'm a very nostalgic person so I guess that works for me then!

Riding the Monorail is a fun way to start at trip. Chef Mickey's looks like it was a lot of fun, too. I've always heard the food is average, but I kind of want to try the salmon, now. :goodvibes

It definitely is! I had very low expectations about the food, because I hadn't heard too many good reviews regarding it. I was, however, VERY pleasantly surprised. Everything was delicious!

Now you've convinced me to try Chef Mickey's for dinner! I've always heard sub-par reviews on the food there at dinner but now you make it sound delicious! It sounds like you had great character interactions too. Awesome :thumbsup2

I'm so glad! I heard those same reviews and I was a little leery about it but I am thrilled to report that it is now my second favorite character meal, aside from Garden Grill. Everything was WAY better than I had expected, including the service and characters!

I hope you're off to a great start to the school year! :teacher:

We really like CM's for dinner as well! I know a lot of people don't, but those mashed potatoes are amazing if you ask me! popcorn::

That is so weird that your table neighbor had your same birthday! It really IS a small world after all! :upsidedow

Thanks! It was a bit crazy today, but it always is. I like being an upperclassmen now. I will be very busy this year, though.

They are amazing! I'm glad you guys enjoy it too, because not many people do.

It really is! It was unexpected, but it made our experience there all the better.

My 2 year old came over to the computer while I was looking at your update and said "Mickey! Minnie! EAT! Come on, Mama- Shoes!" Also known as- come on, Mom- let's go to Disney and eat with Mickey Mouse!

Also, my dad has the same birthday as you, but he just turned 60!

HAHAHA I totally sang that instead of reading it. :rotfl: But yeah it really was a coincidence!

Oh all the food looks so good! I think that's the most mickey-themed food I've seen in Disney and that's saying something. Finally all caught up I was six pages behind :sad2: Darn Disney trip and school

I love the room you stayed in! That bedding is beautiful! That view is gorgeous too!

POFQ is such a gorgeous resort!

Love your picture of the monorail!

Very cool Space Mountain pic! I love pictures that incorporate mirror images in the water so Disney and so pretty!

The Grand Floridian always reminds me of Full House! I always expect Steve and DJ running in slow motion towards each other or Uncle Jessie to be playing the piano  Also whenever I go see the Indiana Jones Stunt Show my mom and I shout out "Steve!" when the boulder comes

Such a great dinner at Chef Mickey's! Isn't celebrating your birthday at Disney World wonderful?! Actually celebrating anything at Disney brings it to a whole new level

Can't wait to read more!

I do the same thing! I always think that. Such a brilliant show. :)

It really does! Chef Mickey's was the best birthday experience ever! :thumbsup2

Darn school, couldn't read your update before today. Your waiter really did a great job celebrating your birthday at Chef Mickey. I want that Tinkerbell cup. :rotfl:

Great coincidence to find somebody sharing your exact birthday! :goodvibes

I started my august TR, if you're interested. :)
Zombie Apocalypse and Pixie Dust

Okay I'm all caught up! :thumbsup2

YAY! You got to ride the monorail! I will always and forever think of you when I see the monorail now that I know how much you adore it. I have a sticker on the back of my car that says "my other car is a monorail" and I think of you everytime I see it! :rotfl:

I love all of your Full House references! :lovestruc I still haven't made it to the GF on one of my trips, but I am determined to retrace the steps of the wonderful Tanner family someday!

Oooh, Chef Mickeys looks so yummy! That's one place I have never been even though I've been to Disney almost 10 times! I seriously need to go there on my next trip!

Thanks! You definitely should! It's beautiful there, I absolutely love it. I can definitely see the Tanner family appeal LOL.

Chef Mickey's was sooo yummy! Everything about it was WAYY better than I could have ever hoped for. It would be a great choice for an ADR. I highly recommend it. :thumbsup2
