Yeah for another update!!! I love all of your traditions and memories...so cute!!!

We love doing pressed pennies too! I bought some supplies the other day at Hobby Lobby, and I plan to make my daughter's pennies into a bracelet. :)

Yikes to tour groups...glad you were able to quickly bypass them! :lmao:

I'm totally singing Clang...clang....clang....lol!

Looks like you had a great time on Main Street!! I have never eaten at Casey's; we'll have to try it out next time!! We ducked in there last time and watched cartoons when it was raining, though! I loved the atomosphere!

Your nails were really cute, and I love that cookie cutter! It's a must have for me next trip!!

Loving your TR so far, can't wait to read more!:surfweb:

What a cute story about the Cracker Jacks and cartoons! :lovestruc
I NEED that cookie cutter in my life! I love making sugar cookies with royal icing and I have been on the hunt for a Mickey head one!

I love that you & your brother watched the old cartoons together while eating Cracker Jacks! So cute! :goodvibes

And I looooove that you had to run out for the Trolley Show! When Jake was 2 years old, him & my mama used to sing that song together all the time... and on his first trip to Disney World, we sat and watched that show everytime it happened at Magic Kingdom :cloud9:

Your brother is seriously precious. Yes I'm responding when you're 2 feet away from me

I don't think I've ever seen the Trolley Show? :confused3

Tour Groups :scared1: always from BRAZIL. Sorry, "BraSil." When I saw the caption, I thought I was actually about to see something gross :rotfl:

Check mark to the chin! Hehe thoughtful pose.

Woo hoo! You're making progress (more than meeeeeeeeeeee)

/
Oh, I empathize with you regarding having to freeze over and over again during you rehearsal for Grease. We did Cabaret in college, and there was a scene where I had to freeze too. Uncomfortable. Plus, when the show was actually live, I was positioned up in the audience when we froze. So all I could think about was "don't move, these people are looking at you!" :lmao:

I sure hope that if Mike did buy those little beauties, that he remembered to store them safely on Soarin'.....;)

Love the Trolley show! Whenever I hear that music, I can never get it out of my head.

Hahaha that's so funny! Freezes are fun, but dangerous.

Oh I wouldn't have it any other way!

ME TOO! <3 It is such a great little show! I just love the music too, it's great.

Yay for an update!
I'm likin' the new Lion King avatar
Cute story about the cracker jacks. How precious.
I love pressed pennies. I have books of them. I used to be OBSESSED. Maybe I should start collecting them again.
LOVE the trolley show.
Fancy castle picture!
YAY for splash mountain.
And LOL about it's a small world. "ladies and gentlemen of disboards I am NOT kidding." :rotfl:

Yay!

Thanks! I found it and decided to honor the occasion.

Mike is precious. I told him about the update and he got all red. Adorable.

You should! There are some really good ones floating around!

ME TOO.

Thanks! I loveee that ride.

HAHAHA but really. Oh what a frumpy ride.

I also bought those monorail chocolates. They rock.

Ugh, tour groups. Annoying.

I think press pennies are a great souvenir.

I think press pennies are a great souvenir.

They're great!

Ugh, completely. :P

They really are! I love finding the good ones! Sometimes they're in really unexpected places! :)

You're welcome. A lot of your photos turn out well; the castle ones particularly stood out to me. I've seen people with SLR cameras whose photos aren't as appealing.

Thanks! I like my little camera. :)

You totally made me want to go to WDW with my brother and relive old memories! Maybe I'll convince him to come with us on our next trip. That reminds me...I haven't talked to him in a while. I think I'll go call him while I wait for more updates. :lmao:

Real Life Update #1- Way to Go Walkers, Olive Garden at...9? and Hakuna Matata!

September 17th, 2011

Hey everyone! Welcome to my first real-life update. This is like therapy for me after what seemed like the longest week ever! This event happened last weekend, when Jess came home from college!

On Friday after school, I went back to Allie's (princessallie) house and we did some homework. I struggled with a Latin translation and she struggled with a template for Yearbook. It seemed that the resolution was never high enough and all of her backgrounds were blurry. Ah technology...

Anyway, we ate dinner and then went over to Jess' house a little later. I was so excited to be home! :P

We had delicious pizza, did our nails and sat out at a campfire that Jess' dad made. We had a nice chat.

We went in after a little while and Vickie came over! I was so happy to see her too! I hadn't since Disney!

We all caught up, watched Full House and went to sleep. We had a big day the next day!

We woke up the next day and got ready in matching outfits...Disney crewnecks with leggings!! Why, you may ask? Well, we were participating in a 5K at a local hot dog stand to support the Boys and Girls Club in Jess' town! Jess' mom went and signed us up as Team Disney, except for Vick, because she had to study and work later. ): She also got us breakfast from Tim Horton's. We ate and then headed out, but not before having ourselves a nice photoshoot!

dsc06627kc.jpg

dsc06628k.jpg

That was Mother's first heart picture!

Disney crewnecks!

dsc06631r.jpg

We got to the race, which was called the Wiener run, and saw some wiener dogs who were racing as well! It was so cute! Apparently one was even dressed like a hot dog!

dsc06634p.jpg

Before we knew it, the race had begun!

And we're off!
dsc06638v.jpg

As you can probably tell, we chose to walk the race, not run. From time to time we met up with Mother and her two friends, one of whom was wearing a Mickey Mouse shirt, or Jess' cousin and her friend. Mostly, we just walked at our own pace and talked about Disney and future trips to plan.

Our first mile took around 18 minutes, and the guy who told us our time said we might want to pick up the pace a little. Nahhh. We're frumps, we do what we want!

We finished the whole race in less than an hour, which was good considering we walked the whole thing. It was great exercise though, and so fun! It wasn't too hot or cold out either, just right. A nice crisp fall morning. (:

As we finished the race, some cheerleaders were cheering for us "walkers." Thank you, thank you! Hehe.

Here we are after the race! Woohoo!

dsc06647ld.jpg

DEER.

dsc06649c.jpg

We also got free hot dogs for doing the race! It was great! :thumbsup2

dsc06655f.jpg

YUM. We thought ya'al would appreciate some food pics. Haha.

What a successful morning!

dsc06654wi.jpg

After that, we chatted with Mother's friends and put tons of raffle tickets in buckets for various prizes, like a towel warmer. That was the hit of the day for sure! We also narrowly escaped a bee that had been following us all morning. He must have wanted to pal around with the frumps, too.

We went home and took showers and watched more Full House. Like the Disney episode! We had tried to watch it the night before but me and Allie had fallen asleep, so we watched it again. It was unrealistic but beautiful as ever. It also bothered me that everywhere was SO crowded. Like Fantasyland in that one seen where poor Stephanie just wants to ride Splash Mountain (that girl knows what's up!) the place was PACKED. It was amusing. And Steve was just as cute as ever as Indiana Jones. <3

We got ready and planned to pick up our friend Ellen on our way to Olive Garden for dinner at 6. Why 6? Well, it's quite the story...and I'm sure you all would love to hear it!

Once upon a time, Jess and Kristen were studying for our various math tests at her house in the fall of last year. A boy whom Jess had liked at the time but who things had been a bit rocky with had sort of been, for lack of a better word, a BIG jerk. He had led her on and then BAM, no more. He had put her through quite a lot, and she was basically feeling very discouraged. It was actually really sad!

So, that night we got a phone call from the Big Evil Jerkman. He called to say that Jess was his real good friend and all (HA!) and that he wanted her to know that he was taking another girl in Jess' grade out on a date. That was really upsetting/annoying. I wanted to march to his house and try to knock some sense into him. HELLO?!?! WHEN are you gonna find a girl better than Jess Jerkman??? NEVER, that's when. Ahh well. Jess, however, was pretty upset, I could tell. He then proceeded to tell her that he was taking this girl to Olive Garden, at 6 the next day. Uhh...okay? I'm sorry, that's just plain weird. WHY would he feel the need to tell her all that? I thought it was pretty funny, but Jess was still upset when she got off the phone. I told her that we'd laugh about it someday...

WELL GUESS WHAT!

Someday came pretty darn fast.

The next day, our friend Maggie was over and we were making cupcakes. All of a sudden, it was 6 o' clock.

YOU KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS!!!

I basically burst out of the house and shouted that I just HAD to go to Olive Garden at 6. After staying outside for a few minutes and hoping that this had helped Jess see the hilarity in the situation and cheer her up, I went back inside to find her and Maggie laughing. YAY! And the all lived frumpily ever after. THE END!

Wasn't that a great story? Why, thank you! But it doesn't end there! There's a bit of an Epilogue....1 year later!

Jess and I were talking on the phone on my first day of school, and we suddenly realized that the anniversary of that strange day was coming up soon. She checked the pictures on facebook, and sure enough, it was just a week and a half away! Jess was planning on coming home for the Wiener Run anyway, so we decided to throw Olive Garden into the mix too!

Anyway, Ellen called us and said that she wanted to go the the beach near her house and take pictures before. Okay, yay! We would love that! Ellen is AWESOME. She is like the coolest person I know, not to mention the best photographer I know too! She's the best.

So we headed out and picked Ellen up. Here is a strange angle of her and Allie in the car:

dsc06665s.jpg

LOL.

We got to the beach and Ellen proceeded to take all these awesome pictures of us! Here they are, all fancy with Ellen's magic touch!

After our lovely photoshoot, we went to Olive Garden to meet up with Maggie and Nat! I tried to call-ahead...but the system seemed to by down.

I'm gonna continue this in another post, because of the picture limit.

Will we be able to get a table at Olive Garden?? You'll have to wait and see!!!

Real Life Update #1- Way to Go Walkers, Olive Garden at...9? and Hakuna Matata! CONTINUED!

September 17th, 2011

When I left off, we were on our way to Olive Garden! We got there and met up with Maggie and Nat, and went in to see if we could get a table. Ellen decided to get into the spirit of the occasion and tell the hostess that her name was Rafiki, in a British accent! :P Unfortunately, the wait was an hour and 15 minutes!!!! NO way.

dsc06669h.jpg

FAIL.

We decided to go to Buffalo Wild Wings instead, which ended up working out so well! There was no wait at all! Ellen told the hostess that her name was Nala, and the hostess thought it was so great. And funny. :P

dsc06673u.jpg

We played trivia while we waited for our food! It was so fun! They even asked a Disney question about the Seven Dwarves' occupations! :thumbsup2

dsc06674on.jpg

We all did pretty well! Our teams were: Me and Maggie (Frumps), Jess and Allie (Disney), and Nat and Ellen (Rafiki).

We all got the fun lemonades, and I tried every flavor! They were mango, huckleberry and regular berry. They were all delish!

Our food came soon after, and we chowed down. Here are our food pics!

Mine:
dsc06677k.jpg

Mini corn dogs! I've been wanting these since Disney. They were fabulous.

Jess':
dsc06676m.jpg

A Spinach-Artichoke Flatbread. She LOVED this.

Maggie, Ellen and Allie's:
dsc06678fu.jpg

Some sort of chicken wrap. They all enjoyed it!

Nat got quesadillas, which she loves, so I think she loved those ones too!

After dinner, we drove over to the movie theater for...

29631610150305722003773.jpg

THE LION KING in 3-D!!!!!!!!

And, of course, we have to have a movie theater photoshoot!

29855110150305722188773.jpg

We could NOT keep a straight face. :P

29776110150305722308773.jpg

They could!

dsc06686t.jpg

I am REALLY excited about this movie.

Allie and I had to take advantage of this opportunity:

dsc06687r.jpg

dsc06695e.jpg

This guy clearly got the head-chop jinx. :P

dsc06698w.jpg

TOM FELTON. <3

We met up with our friends Abbey, Jake and Mike and went into the movie. We put on our 3-D glasses and proceeded to be amazed by the beautiful movie. It was so inspiring and probably the best 3-D movie I've seen outside of a Disney park. I think we all cried a bit, and we DEFINITELY sang along, especially to Hakuna Matata, since Jess and I knew that whole scene! It was so great!

After the movie, Jess, Nat, Maggie, Allie, Ellen and I went back to Olive Garden to see if we could get a table and just have dessert. We did!

When we were walking in, Nat was complaining that those "cliches" from dance class at school (which I am in with her) were killing her legs. I asked if she meant chaffing, and when she shook her head and looked confused, I said: "OH! You mean plies?" When she nodded, I cracked up, and now it's a running joke among us. Too funny. Gotta love that frump.

Our waitress was SUPER nice, and she took a bunch of pics for us! We decided that salad and breadsticks were a good idea, so we ordered those first!

dsc06706q.jpg

MMMMMM. <3

Then we all ordered dessert and took more pics. We were having a blast with our 3-D glasses!

dsc06703o.jpg

DEUCES.

dsc06702c.jpg

dsc06704y.jpg

SHARON!!! Ozzy Osbourne, anyone?

dsc06705a.jpg

So fun!

Here are our desserts! Please feel free to drool!

Nat's:
dsc06708un.jpg

Pumpkin cheesecake. YUM.

Me and Jess':
dsc06712h.jpg

Black Tie Mousse Cake. <3

Maggie's:
dsc06711x.jpg

White Chocolate Raspberry cheesecake. This is delicious too!

Allie's:
dsc06710vi.jpg

Triple Chocolate Stratta. WOW. Chocolate heaven.

Ellen got Warm Apple Crisp or something, which we don't have a pic of.

We were all very happy.

dsc06709p.jpg

When we were all done and laden with leftover containers, our lovely waitress offerred to take our picture in the foyer, where "the light is way better!" She should work for Disney. She was great!

Here we all are:

Do you see those guys in the background? SO funny.

It was such a fantastic day! Full of Disney, food and fun! Hope you all enjoyed! I'll do another one from the trip soon! TTFN!
