I had the nicest Thanksgiving this year!! My daughters were both home for the whole weekend, and we all went to eat Thanksgiving dinner at dad/stepmom's house. This is the first time I've done that - usually I go visit my brother when it isn't "my" Thanksgiving, but this year we did it differently. It was fine, really. We have occasionally shared other meals, like Easter, before.
We had plenty of time at home, just the three of us, for "family bonding", and DD20's dreaded English paper got written and finished!! We got out ALL the Christmas decorations and they are all out except for the hanging of the wreath ( I have to pay somebody to do that for me!) and the decorating of a "real" tree which will happen in a couple of weeks when DD20 comes home for Christmas break (I have an artificial tree and it is up and beautiful!!)
I have finished at least 2/3rds of my Christmas shopping and am WAY ahead of where I was last year. I will have lots of time for wrapping leisurely instead of staying up Christmas Eve until 1am like last year!!!!
Now the only thing is to wait until DD20 calls and tells me she is back at school safely - she has a three hour drive and it is dark now and a little rainy. I am going to try to get involved in a project around the house and/or TV so I will not watch the clock like a hawk!!! DD15 needs to be picked up from a friend's house in a little while so that will eat up some time, too.
Did you have a nice weekend, too? I hope so!!
