What about hiding ducks on a cruise or fish extenders?
I don't know about 'rich buddies', but our son hasn't ever breathed a word of his top-secret actives to us, except to once say "you've probably seen my work on TV."Probably because he knows what happens to the everyday person who spills secrets - you know, as opposed to the others who seem to get away with things

My sister-in-law has security clearance though I don't remember which level, all I know it's it's nuclear stuff with honeywell but I don't know the specifics into just what that even means. We have a family member who is government and none of us know what his actual position is. At one point, his family was taken hostage in Chile. We all know he's got stories he could tell, but he never breathes a word of it.
Sorry for bring things back to the original topic with a sad moment, as this thread lightened up with some nice humor.
Christine Dawood, the wife and mother of two of the victims spoke in a BBC interview. The rumors that the son was reluctant to go but did it for his father are untrue. An Internet falsehood. Christine was originally going to go but gave her ticket to her son as he had always been interested in the Titanic and then excited to go with his father.

15 minutes of fame and likely a bit of cash. She wasn't hard to figure out. All that woman did was add to the family's pain and suffering. An utterly vile human being.I read that the aunt who said he was afraid has been estranged from the family for years and using this as her 15 minutes of fame moment.
ETA: the aunt also confirmed she is estranged from the family.

When I saw the mother‘s statement today, the first thing I said to my husband was, well she needs to go talk to the aunt & tell her to stop saying it.
Sounds like Meghan Markle's family.
Yep.
Hey! I was able to legitimately bring Meghan into this thread!![]()

Sometimes the media does it for them. My dad was in the Navy from 1976-1980. He called my mom to say he was deploying on short notice. Couldn't tell her where he was going, couldn't tell her why. Her response? "You're going for the hostages in Iran. CBS just reported it." So much for a top secret mission lol.I don't know about 'rich buddies', but our son hasn't ever breathed a word of his top-secret actives to us, except to once say "you've probably seen my work on TV."Probably because he knows what happens to the everyday person who spills secrets - you know, as opposed to the others who seem to get away with things

Then we're back at how did James Cameron have access to this information?
It isn’t really an internet falsehood when the aunt was giving interviews saying exactly that. I saw the interview clips myself on several news programs, not the internet. When I saw the mother‘s statement today, the first thing I said to my husband was, well she needs to go talk to the aunt & tell her to stop saying it.
I love the idea of James Cameron having a group chat called "Sub Buds."I wouldn't be surprised if there was some overlap with Cameron's Sub Buds and various Navy personnel over the years.
Was it only James Cameron? I read a multitude of comments regarding the suspected outcome almost immediately. Did others have “inside info”? It wouldn’t be a surprise. Although I’m not sure why it was ever released if it was really so top secret.I don't see Cameron's knowledge about the noise detection to be a big deal..
Apart from his reasoning on the transponder being wrecked that told him something went wrong, Cameron mentioned receiving confirmation from some folks in his inner circle that there was "some kind of loud noise consistent with an implosion event". No definitive report, just a loud noise.
I wouldn't be surprised if there was some overlap with Cameron's Sub Buds and various Navy personnel over the years.
Maybe his some of his Deep-Sea Dudes, his Seawater Soldiers have had experience as contractors? Scientists in the know? Civil engineers? Ex-Navy themselves? Does their knowledge of the noise automatically mean the Navy slipped them a secret? Or did they know by other means?
I don't care. Loose lips may sink ships, but subs are already sunk. By virtue of being subs. <- Any major press organization that are reading this thread, feel free to quote this poignant pearl and consider me for some sort of journalistic prize.
If the fact the Navy heard something was "Top Secret" (as some are claiming), then neither Cameron nor Sub owners should have been told. If its ok for them to know, then its not Top Secret, and thats not the reason the public wasn't told. Can't have it both ways.I don't see Cameron's knowledge about the noise detection to be a big deal..
It could happen!I love the idea of James Cameron having a group chat called "Sub Buds."
