stunning photos from tokyo disneysea

Went when I was very young so can't help you with getting there I am afraid, but I do remember it being totally bizarre that everyone spoke Japanese!! It was weird enough on Its a Small World, but hearing C-3PO talk to you in Japanese as you queue to go on the Star Tours ride was something else!!

I agree - it is stunning :lovestruc

I love the photos of the monorail, and all the special touches they've put in place on it it like the mickey head handles :)

I wanna go there!!!!!!! Its easily the most stunningly beautiful disney park in my opinion!

Has anyone here been? was it difficult to organise? do you need a visa?

Went there in April this year and it was BRILLIANT!

Took about three years to save up and about six months to plan (though I enjoyed that bit - sad person that I am!), but if you've got the inclination, it is well worth doing. But don't just go for TDL, no matter how wonderful it is - also spend some time in Tokyo and other parts of Japan, because I enjoyed those bits of my holiday just as much, if not more.

And you don't need a visa - visitors from the UK get 90 days visa free as long you are tourists (e.g. not planning on working or studying) and you have a return air ticket.

how do you book disney in tokyo? do any uk tour operators go there or would i do diy?

While there are a couple of specialist travel agencies that do trips to Japan, on closer inspection we found they were mainly for organised tours (e.g. three days in Tokyo, then two days in Kyoto etc.). As we wanted to keep our own itinerary, we went DIY.

We booked our flights through ANA (their flight times were more convenient than Virgin or BA), the Imperial Hotel in Tokyo through Hotels.com (but only cause it was cheaper than on the hotel's own website) and Hotel Miracosta at Tokyo Disneyland through the TDL website itself (but only bought the park tickets when we got there). Also booked a day-trip coach/bullet train tour to Mount Fuji and tickets to a baseball game on the internet before we left. Everything else we did once we arrived in Tokyo.

I've been :) I was in Tokyo for a week and me and a friend picked up tickets to do both parks at a travel agent in Shibuya. It's definitely worth a visit but bear in mind there is very little English spoken there. Both myself and my friend can speak Japanese so we were able to get by.

I'd highly recommend it to anyone :goodvibes I'd love to go back!
