Stripped vs Loaded and ROFR

Are stripped resale contracts less likley to be ROFR'd than loaded contracts?

My DH and I were talking about this and thought it makes more sense that Disney wouldn't be as likely to use ROFR on a contract that didn't have all the points for the upcoming or even current year than one that had all of the points for the current year as well as the next.

Logic being it would be harder and not really make sense for them to offer that contract to someone buying direct.

Or maybe I am just reaching for any excuse I can find to hold onto hope that the 100 point (just over half stripped for 2015) contract that is in ROFR right now will make it through and be ours.

It's all about the money for Disney so a loaded contract would be worth more to them. Also they consider dues, closing costs, and buyers waiting for that resort and UY.

Disney has there own rhyme and reason on taking contracts. I have not read of anyone on here that has proof on the Why. I have passed with a fully loaded contract 2 years ago, then just last week I passed with a current year of points. So Disney could have taken them, plus the $ amount was low (SSR $62 for 200 points split MF and CC) Yet someone else here had theirs taken at the same time and theirs was $10 more per point, just different UY.

Disney/DVC is a business and they focus on making money. If they have plenty of new resort points to sell they seem to slow down taking ROFR. My guess is that they want the buyers waiting for older resorts to give up and spend more money on the new resorts.

When the new resorts start to sell out they began to take more ROFR contracts to keep the money flowing.

i think this is true.

they don't make nearly as much on reselling ROFRed contracts as they do on new construction, but they have the sales machinery already in place and they do need inventory to keep it going...

We made it through ROFR last month on a stripped AKV contract. It was $65 per point and I am convinced that the fact it was stripped is why they let it go through. I haven't seen many AKV for that low PP price.

Although we don't really know why DVD exercises ROFR, your reasoning does make sense. Best advice is to realize it's totally out of your control and not worry about it. Good luck!

I agree, but when talking ROFR stress/worry, logic virtually NEVER trumps the heart.

Waiting for something to be decided that is out of your control is HARD, very HARD!

I haven't followed closely lately but historically they're more likely to pass ROFR. They often cost more in the final analysis but if it's the right UY and number of points, that extra cost may be worth it.

I just keep telling myself if it is meant to be ours - it will be. Getting my heart on the same page as my head when we are getting closer by the day to that 30 day mark is not easy though.

We have a trip planned for Oct and its almost paid in full. We hope to be owners when we visit! My DD # 2 is so excited to be an owner, she is the drive behind us purchasing. We just want to know its ours!!!!!
