Beth: That is exactly where my sis and I are at - 3 years difference. Thank goodness we attended a Sr H.S. (Soph-Sr.) I was out of there before she entered the building. She had to deal with the fact that her older sis was news editor of the paper and had re-done the whole paper layout (which weirdly enough they have not changed now in over 20 years! even with new technology.) We weren't close until she started up at the Univ. of Washington...then we actually roomed a summer together in one the fraternities. We were then close up until she got involved with the latest of loosers and moved with the deadbeat to Provo, UT and took our nieces with her. (The oldest of which lived with us for 2 full years while sis got her life together between husband #1 and #2 - the youngest, both Jeff and I had daily contact with up until the move.)
I can't say from my experience that the relationship will get any better...but maybe your little sis will be blessed with a child who takes after her auntie (like my niece Charly does). Nothing is better than seeing the old childhood arguments now spring up between mom & daughter and daughter is a much better debater!
Good for you for joining your H.S. football team as kicker! You never cease to amaze me! Also congrats on surviving Cold Stone with only a taste! I don't think I could do that - my splurge at the rare movie is popcorn.
I'm going to take Charly to see Harry at the Seattle I-MAX next week (if my folks don't do it first). We all just love H.P. - Tilda loves the second movie's giant snake and the flying car!
Hang in there!
