Stray/Leftover Park Ticket Questions

We have a trip scheduled for the end of March this year, and we are getting really excited! In anticipation of this trip, I went into MDE to stipulate the color of our magic bands, and I noticed that there are extra tickets in MDE. When I looked closer, I realized that they are connected to my dad in my MDE. It seemed so weird to me, and then I realized what happened. My folks traveled with us way back in 2014. My family of four and my folks shared a two bedroom villa at OKW. Our party of six had a package that included the dining plan and park hopper tickets in a package with OKW. Long story very short, my dad had to cut the trip short and he left a day or two early. I'm assuming he still has whatever tickets he didn't use still connected to him in my MDE? (My folks don't have their own MDE account...I was lead on our reservation in 2014 and I planned the whole thing and booked the trip.) I can't remember if he left just one day early or two, so I can't remember if he has one or two days of park tickets left?

Here are my questions: Are these tickets still usable? If so, how does one go about using them? Can my dad's tickets be transferred to someone else in our family, if he chooses not to use them? I don't have any use for them right at the moment, as our trip in March has already been planned out, and we can't use the stray one or two days of tickets, as we have a package all planned out. How long are park tickets purchased in 2014 good for? How can they be used (especially if my dad has no use for them and is good with transferring them to another family member) by someone else?

Any info or advice about using these "stray" park tickets in the future would be awesome. Have a magical day, my DIS friends!

The ticket days cannot be transferred to a different person to use.

Tickets purchased after 2004 and that were not specifically advertised as non-expiring go dead at the end of the 14'th day from when they were first used. Tickets printed after ca. 2016 expire even if not used, although unused ones have trade in value roughly what you paid for them towards yet newer tickets.

If you will be there for 4 or more days and you would have to buy more tickets to finish the vacation with, it is almost always better not to use leftovers and instead buy one new ticket for each person to cover the whole vacation.

When you have multiple tickets for the same person in the same My Disney Experience account, you should have Guest Services or Guest Relations prioritize the tickets as to which ticket is used next. You will need to go online in advance to sort out the tickets so you will know what to say to the CM behind the counter.

We don't need these tickets for our upcoming trip in March, 2020, as we have a completely new package, and my dad is not going on this trip with us. We'll call WDW to see what, if anything, he can do with his unused tickets.

Unless the tickets were specifically non/expiring tickets that you purchased, they expired after 14 days even if not all of the days were used.

2. Nope.
3. Never-used 2014 tickets will be good "forever." (Maybe.)
4. But, partially-used 2014 tickets expired 14 days from first use. No value at all, anymore.

A. Nobody at all can use these tickets. They have expired.
B. They have no value at all.
C. Sorry, but calling "Disney" about these things can really be a problem.
(Phone CMs are notorious for giving out erroneous ticket information.)
D. They are really not "unused" tickets. They are partially-used... so now they are "expired" tickets.
(MDX is notorious for giving out erroneous ticket listings.)

MDX (MDE) is notorious for giving out erroneous ticket listings.
Many times, guests will continue to see (listed as though still available) fully-used-up tickets from previous trips.

And, you are certainly free to call Disney.
Just don't take the info you may get as the final word.

I have multiple used/expired tickets showing in my mde account as does my son. I know they are expired. I know there is nothing left on them. Yet they still show up. I just ignore them.
If you have any doubts though, I would have your dad call Disney and ask- you never know and may be pleasantly surprised. Maybe you could call too, not sure.

Thanks, @glocon! Good to know. I think I'll just skip calling WDW...it sounds like it's probably a 'fluke" that my dad's tickets still show up in my MDE. I know my dad isn't planning on going to WDW any time soon, and we have no use for them either. I was just really curious as I noticed them when I signed into MDE to pick magic band colors for our upcoming trip.
