Strange things your neighbors do..

A friend of my mom's has a beautiful home with a gorgeous commercial grade kitchen. They cook on a hot plate in the garage because she doesn't want her house to smell like food.

OK I'll bite WHY were they hanging raw meat out the window?

No idea. The complex is about 30% Chinese students many of which have never lived with the amenities that the apartments come with which sometimes lends to some very strange conversation and happenings.

my neighbor is getting a mail order bride...he is 43 and his new bride from Asia is 19 he has met her once and says he loves her. They are on the Internet with video every night and they are awaiting her Fiance papers so she can come over here. It takes about 6 months to get her visa.

He is a man going through mid life crises that wants children desperately, she will be preg. in 3 months from when she gets here I have no doubt...if not sooner.

He is a nice guy a little strange but a nice guy. I told him to clean up his house and to make her her own space and he said that she knows he is not a good house cleaner so she will clean it whenshe gets here.

So is that strange enough for ya

While in college my dh and I lived in married student housing. Our upstairs neighbors hung raw meat in their apartment to dry. They were foreigners, as were 70% of the residents. After the complex was fumagated for rats several times they stopped.

Now our most recent neighbor stopped over to our house one summer day. Her daughter (4 at the time) was with her. Our neighbor was smoking, flicked her ashes into her dd's hair. While pounding out the flames and blowing the singed hair onto the ground, she is screaming, I did it again, I did it again. I was speechless.

OH, and my current neighbors cuts the lawn with a scissors! Not kidding. After he mows (which is about 4 times a week) he goes out there with a scissors and cuts any strays.

Does your neighbor have a twin who lives in my neighborhood?! We've got one of those scissor-snippers, too!

I'm sure my neighbors would share a few stories about us. But I'm the one whose neighbor removed a wall to their house so they could keep their mustang they were restoring from getting wet. They did that over a year ago and guess what they still have a mustang in their living room surrounded by their sofas.

I think the weird people in our neighborhood used to live in our house. Supposedly, the son who lived here would cut the grass in dress pants and nice shoes, and a long-sleeved shirt.

My husband's sister isn't our neighbor (thank GOODNESS!) but we went by her house one night and she was wearing a silk outfit, drinking from a wine glass and picking up sticks in her yard. I think she thought she looked sophisticated or something.

OMG! I remember that!!! Are they still married? If so, his wife must be a saint!

We have an elderly lady next door that has 14 cats and 10 dogs and none of them have ever been outside. She is so afraid that the dogs will get fleas or run away, that they have to go to the bathroom in the house. She turned her utility room into a giant litter box for the dogs and cats and covers the floor with a thick layer of newspapers taken from the recyclables everyone on the street puts out. On garbage day, she puts out about 12-14 full cans each week. It is so bad that our garbage man asked me how many families lived there. When I told him it was just one little old lady, he didn't want to believe me. Then I explained what was really in all those bags he was throwing in the truck each week and even he was grossed out! I won't even talk about the smell on a nice hot summer day!

Most of my neighbors are ok for the most part. The wierdest thing any one does is hold their parties in the front yard. I have one neighbor who doesn't let guests come into her house. All the parties are in the front yard or the garage. No matter what the weather is like. I also have some neighbors who keep a picnic table in their front yard as well. I live in an older neighborhood so all of these homes have large back yards. I just think its wierd that they have their parties in the front. Especially when the front yards are much smaller.

In nice weather, my neighbors sit on lawn chairs in their garage. It's really weird--they have a beautiful back yard with a deck that they never use. And it's not like they have a ton of neighbors stopping by--I'm usually the only one who stops by to say hello as I'm pulling into my garage right next to theirs.

I have neighbors who do something similar. They have a large, beautiful backyard, completely fenced, with a pool, but they bring their lounge chairs out into the driveway and sunbathe.

That almost sounds like you need to call someone!!!

IF you every watch animal cops, they are constantly dealing with people like that!! Its usually the animals that suffer!

When we lived in our previous house, the neighbor down the street would vaccum the front lawn - I wouldn't have believed it if I didn't see it myself. Talk about clean freaks.

We have a neighbor that washes his entire house down with the hose every single day. Such a waste of water, and air, going on over there.
