Strange things guests say

Mine was a little embarrassing but we were on the bus ride back to OKW after the parks had closed pretty late. My daughter was 4 at the time and sitting on my lap. It was very quiet as most people were pretty exhausted after the long day. The lights are always dark on those rides home and all of a sudden this cute little soft voice says "Daddy, pull my finger"...well the whole bus burst out laughing and my wife gave me a really nice kick under the seat. We still laugh at that one today:)

:lmao:

DW & my very first trip to WDW was our honeymoon. Although I'd long been a Disney fan and probably should have known better, for some reason seeing the HM from TSI made me think there was a bridge that crossed near there and dragged DW back and forth several times along the end of the island looking for it. When I stopped to take a break she quipped "Now what Gilligan?"

The first time we went to Disney World we were getting ready to go to EPCOT........our then young daughter goes.................
" What is there to do at E P A C O T."
So now to us it is EPACOT.

Safe travels.

Man, Since this thread, I've been starting to listen a little more, and got a good one.

I was on a bus from AK to TTC the other day, and there was a family talking about how to get to WL for dinner at WCC. They were saying they have to take this bus to TTC, take a monorail to MK, then a boat to WL. Now, we were coming from a park, AK, so they should have had a direct bus to WL. The ladies in the group were complaining what a pain it was to get around, and the man said "not if you know how to use the system"...uh, and you do dude???? I got off the bus, told my kids about it, and we all laughed.

Not at Disney World. But, still pretty funny. We were at a going away party last weekend. A lady there was wearing a 2009 wdw shirt. We started talking about her trip. She tells me that they stayed at the Poly for 2 weeks and paid 4000 for the WHOLE trip.

Sign me up for that trip!

We were at Sesame Place yesterday and I overheard a woman tell her son, " OK, let's go find Goofy, so we can get our picture with him!"

I am wondering if they are still searching for him -lol

Off topic, but how were the crowds at Sesame Place? We are going for the first time on Monday... Thanks!

My old boss thought she knew everything WDW like me. So she thought we had something in common. :rotfl2:

She constantly told me that when she calls to book the Poly they see how often she goes and they 'comp' some of her nights every single time she goes (she goes for 4 days every other year). She also said they give her complimentary TPV and concierge every time she goes because she was married in WDW.

:confused3 What WDW is she going to?:rolleyes1

Sounds like she's a few chunks short of an 'Ohana skewer.

Not overheard..because I said it lol but here is mine :

Traveling with friends who had a daughter that was pretty scared of EVERY ride at age 6. We are of the "grin and bear it now get your butt in the seat" types of people lol. So we get to ToT and told her it was the "monorail to the potty" and that we all were going to the bathroom before we got in line to watch Beauty and The Beast. She bought it hook line and sinker. We get on the ride, doors close and she squeeks out "Mommy why does this monorail have a lap bar?" LAUGHTER surrounds us lol. She got over her fear REAL quick. Hard to believe that little 6 year old is about to turn 17 years old :(

I'll call my dad out on this one. We were at AK one day and he rode Kali River Rapids with my mom and daughter in the morning. We were walking out of the park and it started to rain. He started to run to the buses. When we got there, I told him he wouldn't melt and he snapped back....

"I don't like getting wet!".... He was soaked on the ride and damp for over an hour earlier in the day...

We just returned this week.

On the Monorail as we were passing Space Mountain, a lady told her family, "Oh look, there's Downtown Disney."

My DD(6) started to object- I had to "shhh" her.

The same lady told her family that "those hotels" (referring to the Poly and Contemporary) were "expensive... like $100 a night." My DH even had a hard time keeping his mouth shut. :rotfl:

OMG, 100 a night! Could you imagine.

I wish!!!

I wonder where she stays that she thinks $100 a night is really expensive.

In early March, we were on one of the busses riding past Blizzard Beach, which was closed for refurbishment. The sign outside of BB said "Closed due to lack of snow!" Someone on the bus with us said "That's a joke, right?"
:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl::rotfl:

I am having so much fun reading this thread.

I can remember the first time I rode Space Mountain - I was probably 7 or 8. I rode with my dad, and my grandpa was just behind us. Apparently, I was so scared that I kept my eyes closed the whole time, and my dad had to keep telling me that I was okay. Afterwards, I told my dad that I was never going on that ride again. My grandpa replied, "Me either." I always laugh when I think of my Army Vet grandpa being scared by a Disney ride.
