Strange MyMagic+ behavior last week

So sorry, don't mean to be dense but Huh? LOL! I have a magic band in MDE that has both tickets attributed to it. Would I create another account for myself under MDE then move the 10 day to it? I will be getting a new magic band for our August trip. I am the ringleader of our trip for 17 people so I have everyone attached to my account as a friend or family so I can make reservations. I don't understand how I will still be able to do that if I create another MDE account unless the new account only has my old 10 day NE pass on it. Is that correct?

Meech, because your DS will only be using the PH+ for water parks, the system will only deduct from his PH water park entitlements.

But, before you enter a park, you must stop by Guest Relations to prioritize the AP. Your son, unfortunately, has two tickets that can't be moved away from their initial link. Both types are non-transferable.

Thanks, appreciate the explanation. Once a priority is assigned to a ticket or AP, does it remain that way until you ask to have it changed? Or will have to go back to GS multiple times?

Creating a phantom is not making a new MDE account. You just add on a phantom friend to your MDE. So instead of you being part of the 17 member group, your phantom is part of the group.

Please reread my reply to you above because it explains the moving of the 6-day. You can't move the non-expiring ticket. It permanently remains where it is linked.

Some have reported the iPad CMs at the entrance gates can quickly check to see which ticket entitlement will be used when you enter.

I don't know if visiting a water park where the system deducts from the PH causes the PH to then become the priority ticket. In theory, it shouldn't because the system finds the correct entitlement to enter the water park - it shouldn't re-prioritize the ticket.

Follow up question here. I have a 10-day NE ticket with a few days left. I recently purchased a 5 day base ticket for an upcoming trip. I am also a DVC member. My DVC account is linked by email to the MDE profile with my NE ticket. I am tempted to create a "phantom" me and assign the 5 day ticket there but I don't want to have to change my reservation. When I link the reservation to my MDE account can I put the phantom me as the lead person for check in if the name is the same? Asked another way, can I manage a reservation in MDE where the account owner (original me) isn't on the reservation?

Yes. As long as the phantom name is on the onsite reservation, a new MB will be attached to it.

Example: I have an MDE managed by Hiro as a secondary MDE account. CM friend always books the room reservations under our real names. I linked the reservation confirmation # to Hiro's account and everything linked because I have two real names people in Hiro's account even though he won't be with us. ;)

ougrad86: So...even if one ticket is prioritized then it won't even try to search for other tickets on the account? Confusing. Maybe I should do temporary phantom profiles. Only problem is I'd probably forget who they were for when time came for reassigning back. Maybe if I made the names similar enough

If you have assigned a partially used non-expiring ticket to someone in your MDE account, it can't be moved to another person. Once a ticket is partially used, it is non-transferrable.

I assigned the partially used non-expiring tickets to "phantom" family members in my MDE account so the tickets wouldn't accidentally be used and we would not have to stop at guest services on every trip to have our tickets prioritized.

I used our first and middle names as our "phantom" profile names. Close enough to our real names that we know who's who and easy enough to explain to a CM what we did if there is ever a problem with one of our old tickets.

Had something like this happen to my group during the Wine and Dine half marathon. My fiance and his best friend had their party tickets linked so that they could get Fast Passes for the 2 hours they would be in the park pre-party. Everything worked swimmingly except for the fact they entered Epcot a couple of minutes before 7pm (side note I only told them a billion times to only go through the tap points marked for the after party and not regular ones) so they were let in. They thought it was just pixie dust and thought nothing about it because they had used the party tickets not their Magicbands. Well as it so happens the next day we find out that once you link a ticket to your MDE account the psychical ticket no longer is a single ticket. It is also now linked to your MDE account and is used to access all tickets in your account as well as fastpasses :sad2:. Thankfully I stood my ground about being sent to the hour long window at MK and ask to see one of the Guest Relations members with an iPad because it took him 2 minutes to fix the situation and he let us know if we buy after party tickets again just don't link them as we technically aren't suppose to use them for FP anyways. I'll still do it but will make sure going forward I put it on a phantom account. From my understanding the after 4 and after 2 convention tickets are kind of treated the same way. You are suppose to only use those for day of FPs thus no need to link them to your MDE account you just go to the FP+ kiosk and use them there. So much for those of us who know the system and use it wanting to be able to get around having to stop at an in park kiosk.

If buying a party ticket online, doesn't it automatically link to an account on MDE? So it would have to be bought on the phone to not be linked? Also is it not potentially a problem for prioritizing if you have 2 different MDEs and then have one ticket linked on one of them and another linked on the other? I still don't get what went wrong in ougrad86's case because as I understand it the band/card still should've been able to access the nonprioritized ticket without having to go to guest relations

Party tickets haven't caused issues since they started auto linking them. I think the system sets them as the highest priority automatically so it will always try to use that first and the party tap points will only take party tickets. The issue is with things like runDisney after parties, convention tickets, or these tour tickets where no-priority is given to them automatically in the system. There is also no turnstiles programmed just for convention tickets so the turnstile is programmed to take any and all valid ticket.

Ok - this needs to become a FAQ on this topic. I now two Phantoms with my after 2s (PhantomMe and PhantomWife as first names) - that will get used at some point. Basically parking lots.

Free parking with an after 2pm pass that never expires? Good deal.

Hi,
would you be able to explain in a bit more detail how you did this? I've got four family members, including me, in my MDE account. We have two reservations in July and 2 sets of MB on the way. All four of us have water park tickets in MDE (+ options from PH tix where all the park days have been used), and older DS has a NE 10 day PH + ticket with water park and parks days still on it.

I have purchased DVC AP for each of us for this trip. They are not active yet and I have not linked the confirmation number into MDE yet.

Can I create a 5th phantom member of my family in my current MDE account for my older DS for his old NE pass? We still need this pass to be active for the water park only. Don't want to use the park days, as we have the annual passes.

This would really save a lot of hassle and anxiety for me!

Thanks!

Are any of your tickets already attached to family members in your MDE account? If not, then just go in and add "new" family members in your MDE account. If you have already added the old non-expiring tickets to your family, they can't be moved now. If not, they can be added to the "new" profiles.

I have four members in my family, all with AP's attached to our "real" names.

In order to add our old non-expiring tickets, I went into my MDE account and created "new" family members. I used our first and middle names only for the new profiles, and then added the non-expiring tickets to these profiles.

So now, we have 4 profiles with our real names, with our AP's attached.

We also have 4 modified profiles (first and middle names) with our old non-expiring tickets attached.

Our magic bands are attached to our AP's, which are attached to our real names.

To use our non-expiring tickets, we will use the actual plastic ticket for entrance.

Yes, they are already attached to my older DS profile.

I don't know why but this is causing me a lot of anxiety. I always have bad luck with this sort of thing, and I really don't want to spend a lot of time at GS fixing it.

Meech, after you prioritize the AP and before you scan your ticket at the entrance, ask the tapstile CM to call for an iPad CM. The iPad CM can check to see which entitlement will be used.

That should be less time consuming than visiting GR before you enter a park. You don't need to check before your DS enters a water park.

Thanks, that is good to know.

One last thing before I put this subject to rest.....

In MDE you can deactivate cards and bands. What if I just deactivated my DS card with the NE PH+ and then Activated it before we go to the water park? In theory that should work, right?

Because in reality we may not even go to a water park during our trip. If we do, it will only be once.

I did research for ScrapYap's thread and deactivated my MB before I went to a FP kiosk. When I tapped my MB, all my pre-booked FPs popped up on the screen. So, deactivating doesn't stop the link to the entitlement database. I'm not exactly sure what deactivating does.

This particular issue has been talked in the boards before and while I think eventually guest should be able to prioritize their tickets themselves right not it is not a priority. As someone said before me most people don't even understand how MB work we get at least of couple threads a week of some basic knowledge MDE stuff, they don't even understand that they can use any MB active! They are making changes and the rumor is that hopefully you can start booking the 4th FP+ from your phone. MDE is not functioning completely as they see it working. I don't think all the functions are working and are slowly trying to roll in the changes.

There are no doubts that the app still glitchy although I haven't had any issues in the past 2 trips, but before that my information has just disappeared in the middle of the day and that is why many people on this board take screen shots as back up. I think one day we will get eventually it is just not today.
