This may have been discussed before, but the search never cooperates with me, so I will ask.

We will be staying at BCV and I was wondering if I need to carry our resort IDs to use SAB.
Normally just my DH and I carry ours, and we lock the kids up in the room, the fewer we carry, the fewer we risk losing.

We have never stayed at a resort where the pool was as restricted as SAB, so we are wondering if they check IDs as you come and go (like our development pool here at home)

Anyone who has stayed there, could you please let me know. If so I will probably pick up one or two of those water wallets to keep them all safe.

Thanks:teeth:

We were there last month and only needed to show one ID for the entire group. There have been other times when people have reported needing one for each person in the group. As with most things Disney, I guess the answer to your question is, it depends who's doing the checking. Good luck!

When we were there, the CM checked my key, and my husbands, but not the kids.

I agree. It depends on the CM checking the I.D.'s and the time of year - when it's crazy busy they tend to make everyone have an I.d. Some here on the boards have reported having to go back to the room to get the rest of the I.D.'s for the rest of their group. But that's the worst that can happen. I'd bring them all with the first time you go to SAB and see how they work it and then take it from there but even then, the CM that day may not ask (or may) and the next time a different CM may ask for just the opposite. So ya never know:rolleyes:

Like I said though, the worst that can happen if you don't bring them all is that you'd need to go back for them.

Is that legal? I'll have to try that next time :teeth:

Mike, I was thinking the same thing when I read that line? Acutally I was thinking "hey, could I get away with locking my kids in the room while I go swimming"?;)

DisneyNutMary, we have been to SAB many times since the no pool hopping was put into affect, 2 times we were asked for ID's for everyone in our party, including my 6 and 8 year olds. The rest of them time my ID was sufficient.

You'll only have to show your IDs once per day. They'll give you a wristband and that's all you'll need to get in and out of the pool area in case you need to go to the restroom, get a snack at Beaches and Cream, or have to run back to your room for something. So if you take all of the IDs with you, you can keep them in a safe place and not worry about your kids being responsible for them.

We were there from 7-18 - 7-23 and never once had to show any ID's. I was worried because each time we only brought one of the kids (it opens the door to the room but no charges are allowed). Each trip there we never were asked for anything which I found strange because I have read these boards for so long. We though at the towels area but again nothing.

July 11-16: We went later in the afternoons and evenings and never once were asked to show our cards, which we had, nor were given wrist bands and I even asked about it. It was like they did not care after a certain time. Once I sent my kids to find someone to ask for wristbands. I never got one all week long.

Thanks for the replies everyone.
I guess if I just get a water wallet, like they sell on the cruise ship, big enough for all of the cards, I can't go wrong. And at least I will have them all in one place.

Next time I should proof read before I post. As tempting as it may sometimes be, I do not lock my kids up in the room, just their cards  Besides, they know how to get out, so they would probably find me
;)

When they first started the wrist band thing we were staying at BCV but had the boat and bike plan at VWL. After a great time on bay lake we went back to use SAB. When the lifeguard was going around checking ID's and handong out wristbands I overheard two young women say -" it's not right that we pay to stay in a Disney hotel and can't use this pool". They had been told they could use the loungers but not the pool I guess as they were sitting by the towel area . I asked for a wirstband and was told "oh you already have one". I didn't argue but was tempted to point out that mine was bright pink (from the boating) and the ones he had were white. Guess it just has to be a wristband. If the main pool at OKW is closed in September I wish we could hop over to SAB like they let the BWV people do when their pool was closed.

We were there, in June...we all had to show our room IDs to get the wristband.

There last week. Went numerous times and none of us were ever asked to show our room key.
