We are heading to the Fort next week and being spring with the potential for severe weather, I started thinking about a safe place to ride out storms and whether you would be permitted to bring your pets along.

Are the comfort stations at the Fort the best place to go in case of a tornado? Would we be allowed to bring our two pups with us? The thought of leaving them alone in the trailer would not go over well with my wife. Just curious if anyone has had to do this before and if so, what you did with your pets.

Desperate times call for desperate measures! If you are faced with a tornado watch, I can't see anyone having an issue with 4 legged friends being with you in the CS, unless they're mean, of course ( the people or the dogs ;) )! I think most can be accomodating given the circumstances :goodvibes

A friend of mine was placed at the movie resort a couple of years back because of very serious weather and they were allowed to bring their dog as long as he was with them the whole time.

They are very good to people that have pets during emergenices, they wanted to kennel the dog for free but the owners wouldn't go for it so off to the Movie resort they went.

I don't think you have anything to worry about, where you go in FW for a tornado I don't know, you might want to find out at check-in.

You have a better chance of being eaten by a mad peacock at FW than being threatened by a tornado. I can tell you that state or county shelters do not allow pets.

If it was that bad, the CS would be the best bet and since you would be in a pet loop anyway and I can't believe that bringing your pets with you would be a problem. Who's going to tell you to leave?? :confused3

So if you had to go to a CS during a storm, does the men go to the men side and the wimmen to the wimmen side? And who would in their right mind would stay in one after Rog finishes his business in stall #1. I would rather face the storm. At least the air would be fresher.

You mean like in the flesh? Well he's half the man he use to be or maybe closer to 2/3's. Best DJ in Naw Orleans he be.

And what if you are and your dog are not the same gender? Do you trust a stranger to take your dog in the bathroom? How old does your dog have to be before he/she is ready to go into the bathroom by him/herself?

Oh, the questions...

I always thought we would go to the laundry room at the comfort station. Mom always said have clean underwear in case of an emergency.:laundy:

It hopefully is something we won't have to worry about but we were in our trailer last summer in Indiana and had to evacuate ASAP to a comfort station. It was a bit nerving and scary when the trailer started to rock and a seasonal camper's shed blew apart. My wife saw the shed next to us come apart and began screaming. We grabbed the dogs, ran to the truck and went straight to the comfort station. We rode out the storm there. Luckily our camper was fine but there were trees down and damage to some things like umbrellas at the pool, etc.

After that experience, even I get a little anxiety when the wind starts to howl.

I can't imagine they would make you leave. They would have a heck of a time trying to get me out of there if a tornado was coming and that was the safest place to be and we had our dog with us. Ain't happen'.

I agree...the storm might be safer. I literally have no sense of smell at all, but Ive seen my children pass the bathroom door and drop to there knees crying in nasal agony!!!

PPix.......no we havent met...but I feel like Ive known him all my life...like an abusive father!!!!!;)

Best DJ in N'awlins?? I wish I could claim that title, but we have a couple of really good guys on the radio here.....I cant afford to be on the radio, and the scenery on radio is quite different!!!

My mother also told me to wear clean underwear in case I was involved in an accident. So I kept a pair in the glove box of the car. Well at least that's what I told the wife when she found those silk bikini's there.
So Rog, you need to move up to radio, you have the face for it.
It does make a guy proud when the family can't walk past the bathroom door without gagging.
